Which QB do you want the Jets to draft?
Don Otreply replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pete Naterman is my official vote for the Jets new QB. -
I watched a bunch of Sanders highlights from this past season, a few take aways would be; Brees’s arm was just shot, put a fork in it level of done, because of that his receiving stats likely suffered quite a bit, now that Sanders is playing with a QB that has an accurate canon for an arm he should more effective. With ES teamed up with Diggs, Beasley, Davis, McKenzie, Hodgins etc, we maintain a lethal receiving Corp. Now we just need to fix the run game... 😁👍

It’s is and always will be Rich Stadium 🏟 I suspect It became the “Ralph” because the team was so mismanaged, and it’s image was so poorly thought of that no corporate sponsors could be convinced to associate their name with the Bills in those days , so the yes men talked Ralph into put his name on the stadium for lack of a better option. Sad, yet very likely true...

Earlier on in this thread, I remarked that our current run game was in essence not credible, and that we were in fact a one dimensional offense, and that it was exposed when all four of our starting WRs we’re playing injured, I also stated that our run game must be made to be effective when we chose those play options, otherwise the team will top out as a damn good passing team, but unable to go any further than we did this past season. I do believe that BB & SM are not so arrogant as to not at least attempt to improve that aspect of the offense.

I’m guessing that you and Shaw66 are both correct in your thoughts, I think it would be counter productive to not throw a few wrinkles into the run game schemes, while using the O line we have. Being we will continue to be a pass first team, the run game needs to be effective when we choose that option, if they can do that the whole offense becomes more lethal, and productive, and as an aside that will make the defenses job just a bit easier.

I didn’t see totally F ing up the draft and keeping Darnold as a choice, so I didn’t make a selection... -

Strict / the very BPA overall has always been a myth for the most part, perpetuated by teams to convince themselves , their opponents, and their fans that they are making the correct selection at each point of the draft process. Humans, what else would you expect, it’s what we do... BPA at a position of need on the other hand is in fact what the draft is and has always been since its inception. It is all need driven, otherwise, why in hades would a team select a player they don’t have a need for? It just doesn’t ever happen. A faster stronger more agile better player than a team currently has at every position is always need for every team. Good GMs think this way, but position of need prioritizes the order of selection. There is a saying that was made famous during a winter Olympic build up some years ago, I’m paraphrasing here, it goes like this, “ I’m not looking for the best players, I’m looking for the right players” Beane could have said that... Anyway... Go Bills!!!

The deep ball will be useful for certain, but if we do not make our run game more viable, last seasons results will be what we get annually. A real damn good passing team, that is one dimensional, and when that dimension has multiple injured/dinged up receivers... We don’t want to be a run first team! What we absolutely need is a run game that has to be accounted for, currently we do not have that, and that makes us easier to defend against, especially in the post season. Luckily we have a GM and HC who know this, and will act upon this shortcoming accordingly.

Do the Bills have "their guy" picked out?
Don Otreply replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is why picks are BPA at positions of need the vast majority of the time, and why a strict very BPA is a rare bird, it’s need driven, and every teams idea of BPA differs by that teams current personnel situation. -
Are teams trading too many assets to get a QB?
Don Otreply replied to DefenseWins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s worth it only if you still have the finances to have real weapons, to include an Oline so that the QB you gave up huge assets for can actually help your team, and don’t forget you need a defense too. A QB alone can win you some games, but the rest of the structure has to be in place or you are just spinning your wheels. -

I suspect it is more a they have “guys” they are targeting at different points during the draft subject to what has transpired as their pick approaches. Not discounting moving up or down, but imo this is a more likely their general thought process. -
What do you think of these Bills concept helmets?

Every offseason a thread like this appears once or twice, and then mercifully gets forgotten about until the next offseason... it is a ritual, like feeding Vall, It is a thing to do... Next up will be a new colors for our uniforms, and those will be just god awful in every way, and those two will be mercifully forgotten about until next off season as well, all part of the ritual I suppose... Vall is a hungry guy...
