Lots never noticed or have forgotten that our preferred O line starting five did not play together last season, but that would take paying attention and having a functioning memory... kinda hard for some to keep track of the tiny stuff like who’s injured or out on the O line..., shakes head, walks away...,

Valid point, we can hope that Billy’s generally poor drafting continues..., -

Has the angst started to rise anywhere in Bills nation, or are we all quietly confident? Me, I’m very confident. Go Bills!!! -
I never alluded to Darnold resurrecting his career, I did though point out part of why he did so poorly, ie: Adam Gase..., who is a nutter to put it kindly... Sam has this upcoming season to save his career, if he doesn’t show a very big step forward he’s pretty much done, he will become a BU QB or be out of the league, jmo.

Top 5 #1 picks of all-time Bruuuuuuce #3 per cbs

The Bills need to clone him ASAP, the Pegs have the coin to do it... -
I hear what you’re saying, but does it not fall into the obvious category that better players will be higher selections, and have greater odds of success? Of course Beane uses hypotheticals to organize his methods, that makes obvious sense, but Beane doesn’t share his in work methods with others outside of his circle. What I was referencing is the endless number of talking heads nonstop steam of hypothetical draft scenarios, that in very short order becomes the worthless Babel that it is.

How Much Can You Really Develop a Quarterback in the NFL?
Don Otreply replied to jletha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like Ethan said, it far easier to limit a QBs potential than to make great strides in improving them. ( Gase & Darnold) It appears there are coaches that do not know how to best use and build around a QBs more prevalent skills, and instead force the use of schemes regardless of a scheme suiting the skill set of their QB, I suspect that there would be less overt failures of QBs if coaches had better skills themselves, jmo. -
rumors about the enemy's plans
Don Otreply replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could be, but rumors this time of year tend to not pan out, -
I hear you IM, but like BPA, 1st round grades are quite subjective, every teams situation is driven by a different set of Needs. That and the pundits/mock drafters are wrong the vast majority of the time, so what they project is of little value to a smart GM, this year Beane is gonna gut punch the league, and they won’t see it coming, it’s gonna be fun to watch it happen, jmo.

Yikes, nuance is not one of your super powers it would appear..., it’s no longer worth explaining...we see this differently and that will have to do, till another thread, -

Oh, but just think how much Gilmore will enjoy playing for a loser team... -
Could be, but he was never the first choice last season, it was injuries to others that got him playing time, not out playing the starters, but as I said, ya can’t have enough good O line guys, cause ya never know...,
-
Good, I think he will get better from working on his technique and execution..., good quality back up signing! Just can’t have enough good O line guys.

When did blind optimism get mentioned? Except by you, your choice of verbiage says you’re pessimistic about Singletary, I ‘m talking about one guy, if you go back to my first post I said he could get better, and you and others said he can’t, that would be pessimistic would it not?? I’m thinking he can get back to his first year performance, especially with the emphasis Beane put on the run game in his season ending PC , it’s not that big a stretch if you give it some thought..., let’s just agree to disagree, I’ve got dinner calling, sea scallops wrapped in bacon, you know the food of the blind optimist, 😁👍 -
But, but, but..., ma rights...,

No one said star or elite etc, we are talking about improving technique and execution to become a more effective RB, all y’all seem to think and speak in absolutes that are not all absolutes, he is doing things to become a more effective RB, and that should be viewed as a good thing. Will it work? Time will tell. As we are a pass first, second and third offense, I’m thinking with Beane’s not so subtle nudge to the O line and their coaches about the poor performance of the run game, we will see a more effective run element in our offense, still we will very likely not run the ball a hell of a lot more than we have been doing, so don’t get your hopes up that the run game is going to get particularly bigger as part of the overall offensive scheme, that just won’t happen, -

The “Elite Athlete” moniker came after he showed he could run like he does, lots of guys have strong arms and are not considered athletic, let alone elite, but you knew that... As a ball thrower yes, but not as a runner, Wasn’t talking about every single thing, but you can pretend I was... 😁 -

Frankly BOTH our RBs were decidedly mediocre but with Singletary edging out Moss in total performance, do remember that our O lines run blocking was not good all season long due to personnel issues and scheme changes, both of which Beane addressed in his season end PC, there are a lot of very short memories among posters it would appear..., -

The key words you use are “ possibly at his ceiling “, hell, for all we know Josh is “possibly” at his ceiling, albeit a high ceiling..., there is absolutely no reason to believe Singletary can’t improve the execution of his skills, and become a better RB because of that, it’s just a silly to think it can’t happen, the guy shined in his first season, and because of O line personal changes and run game scheme changes BOTH our RBs looked mediocre all season long, the pessimism runs deep on this forum...,
