Bucs Pro Bowl G Ali Marpet retiring at age 28
Don Otreply replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good on him! He has hit the top of his professional career, made millions doing so, I’d be giving the Royalty wave to my employer and live out my life in luxury, again, good on him! -
It can only get sillier when they rate draft classes at the end of training camp…, anything for a click I guess.

I have had the same thought on more than one occasion, it feels “at times” there is no concept of fast tracking player development, but hey, what do I know…, -
Didn’t say he would,
-
Could go either way, depends on the circumstances at that time, ya roll the dice, ya take your chances,
-
In that he would be cheap, if he came here, and that he and Josh are friends is all fine and dandy, but as a QB the guy really isn’t any good, hell he’s worse than Barkley, in all seriousness why the F would we want him on this team?? Go for it, change my mind on this guy, 😁👍 Go Bills!!!

I believe it was initially an ankle injury that lingered from the end of the previous season, he re-injured it early this past season, that at least was why he saw so little playing time early on. Then Dabol/McDermott just took forever to work him back into the offense, as to why that is, I for one do not know, maybe Scottlaw has the answer…, 😁👍 -

First Two seasons with 14 TDs, and some spectacular and timely catches along the way is likely to have something to do with it. The guy totally takes advantage of his opportunities when they present themselves, you know, just what a player is supposed to do, when he gets paid is to be debated not if…, jmo. -
We stand to miss the boat on a really good TE when another team makes him an offer he can’t refuse, and the Bills have to start over again, that would be so very Billsey…,
-
I didn’t say it was, I was questioning another posters comment on a player being injured after a contract extension, being the case. Well well now, that is a cautionary tail isn’t it, 😂

Kareem Hunt: Cut candidate. Possible 2022 Bill?

Kim Pegula didn’t own the team back then… -
On this note is Tre White a cautionary tail? Like I stated previously, future performance after contact extensions , carries risks, it’s part and parcel of doing business in the NFL, is it not? Things like that do happen to very important members of a team, look at Joe Burrows, first year, gets his knee blown up, sh-t happens. With all those revenue streams forth coming, extending Knox really isn’t such a big deal. Beane isn’t a fool, he isn’t going to hamstring the teams finances, there isn’t a lot to worry about, outside of Russia causing the world oil prices to skyrocket with their wag the dog war…
-
I would opt for Knox & Oliver, Beane is a clever man, he will sign at least two.
-
I don’t think this backing up the “Brinks truck” is what going to happen, unless we wait to long. You appear to be quite risk adverse about a guy who catches his targets at a very high rate, and scores a lot of TDs, when is it you would advocate for taking a reasonable risk? Because as we all know, every extension of a player comes with a future performance risk…, it’s just part of the cost of doing business in the NFL.

AFC Opposition FA move you fear
Don Otreply replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Watson in our division would be bad news for sure, but as his legal woes are in limbo, so are his odds of playing this up coming season. He has already missed one full season, and with a fairly strong chance of missing an additional season/s should his legal issue be decided against him, the league will have there hand forced to side line him in some fashion or another. I see him as having an outside chance to see the field over the next two seasons. Of course I could be talking out my - - - -
I agree one money season is a small sample size, but he has been on an upswing for two consecutive seasons, and at this point extending him will be less expensive than waiting and him have another season similar to this past season, and as time progresses, saving a couple million here and there in player contacts is going to be very important.
-
I have no idea, you will have to ask Kittles GM that question, intermediary stats are secondary to the #1 statistic which is scoring points, add in catching the passes when target, in those two categories, Knox is ranked #1 & #2, I mean is it or is it not the end results that matter the most??? Knox is the best TE the Bills have had in ages, and he has been on a constant up swing in performance since his first season, what the heck more can one realistically hope for??

He’s tall, he needs a high ceiling, -
That has a bunch of truth to it, but the only reason we are in a crunch financially is Covid, it is not Beane’s contracts, it’s not like any team knew that Covid and it’s consequences were coming, frankly, I trust Beane to navigate through this in an intelligent manor, I’m not the least bit concerned. I may be pissed off later, 😂, but not at present…,
-
Ah, but in the most important category he’s #2, and that’s TDs, with ten (10), and what other TE stat is more important than that??
-
There is a noisy group of cheap azs fans on this board, they want above average to elite talent, but complain about the cost to have what they want, its kinda funny, for me, I don’t care who gets paid what, it ain’t my money. Go Bills!!!
