Leslie Frazier "taking a year off from coaching" per Bills PR
Don Otreply replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
If this is what it sounds like, LF is gone, and his replacement is already on board. Maybe just maybe we will see, a defensive scheme that is not identical from game to game, and actual adjustments during games that have actual effect on outcomes, or is this just misguided hope? Frazier is an overall good person and I wish nothing but the best for him, enjoy your retirement Leslie! GO BILLS!!! -
Joe Marino Locked on Bills regarding DL
Don Otreply replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is more a DC problem than a player problem, imo we have sufficient talent, it is just not being schemed for success. LF is far to rigid in his scheming and prefers contain vs an attacking style Defense, that works reasonably well against the average to lesser teams, hence our regular season record, but when it comes to playing the elite teams in post season games his scheme is just to predictable, and good HCs and their coordinators have shown that they know how to beat his scheme, three seasons in a row now…, and yet he still pretty much refuses to make adjustments to counter the best teams, and here we are in discussion about this yet again. Don't like drafting for need just for need sake.
Don Otreply replied to gjv's topic in The Stadium Wall
Getting “Prime assets” are a “need” for every team, all draft picks are for need…, BPA/BPA at position of need are both needs, it is never not done for a perceived need. -
The Guardian Cap/ Much needed head protection/ Cleat design change

Really? 300 pound guys in tight pants doesn’t look ridiculous? 😂 that’s a bit of a weak argument…, -
My four bedroom colonial with an attached two car garage in Brighton (just outside of Rochester) has the same property tax as my Two bedroom Cape Cod in West Hartford Ct. but if I had gone for a similar four bedroom place in West Hartford taxes would have been 20k and higher annually, and rising depending on location…, but there are benefits to high tax locations, folk tend to not realize this till they find out the services that they had grown used to tend to not compare in lower property tax locations, we have friends that moved to Sarasota, (Gated community) thinking there tax /overhead costs would be lower but it turned out to be a push according to them, property tax and hurricane and flood insurance etc. there is no free lunch.

I’ll start this off with, we are light years ahead of the drought years, and we are all happy as hell about that, but now it’s about fine tuning/ making effective adjustments throughout the season. Dorsey’s offense became very predictable, and had next to zero flow from play to play, this was pointed out by former NFL QBs, sure we squeaked by a lot of opponents in the regular season, but come post season, going against the best teams Dorsey in effect did nothing to mix things up to put the opponents on their back foot, he did not put his players in a position to be successful, and we got soundly trounced by the Bengals. The same can be said about our defense, no adjustments to keep Opponents offenses guessing, it’s year three of post season failings on Frazier/ McDermott, and the buck stops at McDermotts desk…, coaches are responsible for play design/scheme, and bringing in players that aren’t performing to expectations, then continuing to roll it back season after season. GO BILLS!!!

Being that even the lowest paid players are in the top 3 percent annual income bracket in America, I have no pity concerning their financial compensation, any player that won’t do what it takes to make that work long term for themselves is what is referred to as an…, well, not being particularly clever…,

What’s his phone number ? I’d be happy to break the news to him, maybe a text, that’s how relationships break up nowadays…

The Myth of the Bills over-focusing on defense in the Draft and FA

Very well put Shaw, wonderfully diplomatic if I do say so myself, 👍 -

Draft evaluation by the scouts is as suspect as as any other part of the draft process, it’s where the errors start, or is it the GMs ignoring good advice, we never know as we are on the outside looking in, the draft is a crap shoot on a good day, Don’t fool yourself, all draft choices are need driven, it’s always been that way, and it’s never going to change. GFs on the fifty yard line center of the field…, just sayin, -
Webb is like to expand on the deep knee bends and lifts that RW thought to be so important…, on the other hand, if Webb can resurrect RW he will become a hot commodity for OC the following season…, 😁👍

Stop believing everything you read here or that is put out by the talking heads, here, primarily what you read is stuff people read and then posted here, it’s the talking heads stuff. Look at the team with a calm mind and assess what you see, and what the GM & HC/ coordinators are known to do. There’s your answer, Then keep your fingers crossed 🤞 that those entities will do the right thing , then get yourself a very dry Martini 🍸 and a 🚬 and enjoy the little things that bring you happiness, GO BILLS!!!

I agree that the biggest issues were & are play design and scheming, on both Defense and Offense, injuries never help, but that’s why play design & scheming is so important, adjustments need to be effective and happen in a timely fashion, both of which need to be attended to in a useful way by our HC & coordinators. GO BILLS!!!

I heard/read about throwing angles and Joshes elbow a while back, it certainly can have an effect, but I am also certain that throw angles can be modified for short throws to make the throws regularly doable, it’s a matter of “proper play designs” that allow for “adjustments” to be successful…, Go Bills!!!

Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
Don Otreply replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yup, and the thing is no other team is going to give him what he is demanding, he is doing the “ who’s going to blink first” thing, imo, he is as good as gone from Baltimore, I suspect they are fine with that and already have plans set in place for his eventual departure. -

So, it appears that he wants out of Baltimore…, -
What kind of play do you get the most satisfaction watching?
Don Otreply replied to Beast's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like a ten to fifteen yard pass that is run an additional thirty or so yards for a TD, lots going on to enjoy with that sort of play, I do as well like when a run breaks for big yards / TDs, ( you listening Ken…) 😁 GO BILLS!!! -
It’s not the draft execution so much as it’s the draft strategy
Don Otreply replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall
We Sure did have a good season overall, but we sure did struggle to beat some mediocre teams, and equal teams as the season progressed through to the post season . These issues primarily stem from play design/schemes, or poor execution, both of which fall to the GM, HC, and coordinators to remedy, via play/scheme adjustments, or personnel use adjustments, and some good old fashioned, do your job or you sit conversations, which can be done with polite language, and still get the point across. Back to the first sentence, we had a good regular season for three straight seasons, it’s been the post season readiness by either the coaches, or the players, and we have a coaching staff that apparently does not go in for meaningful/effective in game adjustments, we have watched this happen repeatedly, and no I don’t want to fire everyone, I just want to see some growth from our veteran and new coordinators that show a willingness to make those effective adjustments during games, especially in the post season, Frazier is a big road block to this sort of thought process by his own admission, so where and how do we go from here??? GO BILLS!!! -
Von Miller's injury, and pass rush needs this offseason
Don Otreply replied to Yantha's topic in The Stadium Wall
You did that on purpose, heads will explode nonstop for days if they go D in the first round, it will be fun to read the reactions if/when it happens, right now McDermott and Beane are deciding which edge they are gonna take, 😂 -
The thing is they have plenty of talent on the D, we just lack scheme flexibility when needed to counter good HCs & OCs, it’s odd that they don’t appear to accept this as a flaw that they need to address, especially after three consecutive post seasons that have shown this to be so, oh well…, GO BILLS!!!
