The Intentional Grounding Penalty that Wasn't
123719bwiqrb replied to Motorin''s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) They are telegraphing the silent snap cadence. Not sure why the G has to tell the C to snap it with a tap on the leg. 2) The Texans (and probably the Pats) had a fairly elaborate stunt on. Run a draw play there... -
I for one hope they keep the current band together. Dabol is fine. Please please get another DK Metcalf from the Metcalf football tree, and also go into each game with 3 good RBs dressed, that you can use at any time, for any purpose. Gore as the off tackle, 1 yard, cloud of turf nuggets guy is not a good NFL tactic. They all need to catch passes, potentially run all 3 downs, and stick their nose in there for pass blocking.

Position-by-position analysis of Beane’s Statements

Except on that 3rd & 4th down when Josh was getting jailbreaked/sacked. But yes, overall SPain was a good acquisition. I'd be happy with a 3 year deal at average vet guard money. -

You forgot about punter and maybe a kicker to push Hauschka. -
Good Twitter Thread Breaking Down Allen vs. Houston

That wheel route is a tough play to diagnose pre-snap. The Texans knew the play and had the right double team dialed up. The next option over the middle for Josh was iffy at best. But as long as Josh doesn't fumble (big if), I'm fine as a coach if he improvises there. That sack did not affect the ability to get at least 3. -
The Perfect 1st Half that wasn´t
123719bwiqrb replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gore should have been shelved as soon as he got his yardage (Denver game?). The wheels had already fallen off his wagon by then, everyone knew this, but out of respect we keep wheeling him out there. Yeldon would have been way better out there. And don't tell me about fumbles, they have the same fumble rate. -
Saints have an old, domed stadium that needs upgrading. Hmm, this conspiracy theory may hold some water. Let's keep going down this path. The Vikings just got a new behemoth of a stadium, and they somehow are winning games. The Raiders should be amazing next year, and the same with the Rammies and the Chargers when they open that $9B stadium.

NFL Attendance Hits a 15-Year Low
123719bwiqrb replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went to the Bungles, Broncos and Ravens games this year. $10 per game for parking, <$40 per seat in the 314s, I don't drink in the stadium, and lucked out with good weather. I tailgate with die-hards that park close to the gate in Bills lot 6 and chip in a $20 spot for their food. All-in-all a relatively cheap day out, and this year we lucked out with great weather. The Jests or Eagles game would have been a rough one... -

Injuries to starters this Sunday
123719bwiqrb replied to benderbender's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Long story short, they need the work. They'll be fine, the coaches will call plays that keep them out of trouble. Real generic *****. -
I agree, I am thankful they are relevant again. A 10 year run would be great.

Why is CJ Anderson not on a team??

GOre is garbage and here for regular season stats only. SO I expect Gore to get 75% of the snaps, with Yeldon @ 25%. I will be disappointed if Gore dresses in the playoffs.
-
I think it is also their style of play. They rarely receive friendly fire on defense, and their O-Line employs a certain style that keeps them from getting rolled up on a ton. It also limits their effectiveness sometimes, but I would take consistency over seeing Vlad again.

Perfect bullies those Paties. Plus Harry's job was to block White excessively and use up extra effort on every run play. I am disappointed Hyde let Brady off the hook when he ran. It would have been worth the ejection, suspension, extra drug tests, and the domestic violence charges he would get slapped with during the offseason.

Could Yeldon play WR?

Because that forces a LB out of the box? -
Daboll and ST have been saving something.

No way. Colossal fail would be the Travis Henry halfback pass in Miami. That was just a 4 yard loss. -

He lost me at Frank Friggin Gore. Other than that, why not us.
