  1. Comes full circle in Feb when the opposing kicker misses the game winner against us wide left. For real good observation, it’s been driving me nuts all year.
  2. Exactly this post. The NFL schedule, a nefarious process so devious, mysterious and hard to understand the Bills literally post it on their website at least a year in advance: https://www.buffalobills.com/schedule/future-opponents Seriously, if someone proclaims to be a fan for years and hasn’t figured this out yet then it’s embarrassing.
  3. Kind of random but in terms of momentum, how many times were the Giants defender “injured” after we’d pick up a first down? 5? 6?
  4. Close your eyes and imagine you are watching any patriots / bills game from about 2006-2017. The patriots are in the most boring 21 personnel grouping. They are not looking overwhelmingly fast, yet they somehow keep scoring. The bills are in fact getting some pressure on Brady. Kyle Williams is trying his damndest, but it’s “take a step, release, 7 yards”, “slide over, release 6 yards”. Hand off and running back picks up 4 yards. And the cycle repeats. Up and down the field, you have no idea how it’s happening but they always seem to be in the red zone. Once about every 20 plays, the bills disrupt the timing just enough and Brady slides for a second and calmly throws the ball away before adjusting his face mask and screaming at an offensive lineman. Maybe he takes a sack every 30 plays, but then on the next play looks off a safety, hits one for 13 yards and a first down anyway. You curse the gods and wonder, when just when is it going to be our turn with QB and offense that efficient. Now it’s back to present day. You have pretty much that exact same offense, which Daboll brought here from his time in NE, but this year you have the right personnel (2 legit TEs, smart RBs who aren’t anything fancy, but run straight ahead and can catch), plus a QB who finally understands (so far this year after week 1) to be patient enough to run it correctly. Finally, you also have a QB on pace to have a *higher* completion percentage compared to peak Brady, because instead of having to throw the ball away on those pressures he can either rocket it into an impossibly small window across the field or makes those windows a bit bigger each play due to the constant threat take off running for 45 yards.
  5. Ken Dorsey: (furiously scribbling in a notebook)
  6. Milano’s frighteningly veiny arms are the last thing Kelce’s ribs are going to see before they explode and join Mike White’s in Valhalla.
  7. One down. Now do Kelce.
  8. Brady gives no ***** about injured teammates. 100% he would have lobbied to continue the Hamlin game. He is a robot.
  9. All I know is people gave Allen so much ***** in a similar situation back in that Texans playoff game with the lateral to Knox, however I’d a million times want to have a QB that goes down like that firing everything he’s got, rather than Herbert causally jogging off the field after each drive he blew.
  10. Saw it was his hiring anniversary today. Went back and found the original ESPN article from his hire: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/18453441/buffalo-bills-agree-hire-sean-mcdermott-head-coach Seeing where the team was back then, really makes you appreciate where we are now. All you need to know is the article contains this line, "Whomever McDermott hires as offensive coordinator must deal with the potential loss of quarterback Tyrod Taylor." Think we figured it out.
  11. Hear me out, 53 man roster, all WR1s. Allen can stay as long as he works on his releases off the line and puts in extra JUGs work.
  12. “What IS our Cole situation, Dad?”
  13. The Bengals dropping 8 into coverage seemed to do the trick again today against the Chiefs, just like in the playoffs last year. Would this work against the Bills and Allen? I say no, because: 1. Although the Bills aren’t exactly the Titans, they are still have more of an overall power run ability than the Chiefs. The Chiefs did better today with 140 yards rushing, but it never seemed like there was ever any real play action threat or consistency. The Bengals let them run between the 20s and then clamped down when they needed to. 2. Mahomes is an amazing scrambler (particularly sideline to sideline), whereas Allen is most dangerous as vertical runner. Further, when Allen takes off he can bowl over guys in space. Basically, you are doubling the running threat against that look with Allen’s ability to take off. I think the Bengals defense, especially with their ends and linebackers, could cause problems other ways, but I don’t see them using the same game plan against the Bills. Finally, if my memory is correct I feel like the 8 man coverage package was something Belichick would mix in earlier in Allen’s career until the Allen eventually figured it all out.
  14. “Allen…steps back…FIRES A STRiKE…caught by Knox. That will make it 2nd and 4. No wait, they’ll mark it as a 3 yard pickup, 2nd and 7 coming up…”
  15. Would be much more worried if it was Waingro reporting all this. They had to get it on man.
  16. He also for the last two weeks in the red zone is weirdly locked in on Knox. Like he’s trying to force passes to him rather than run or find someone else.
  17. He threw the last pass 70 yds in the air (10 to opposing 20) on a dime. Think he will be ok.
  18. Don’t do Bojangles like that.
  19. Look, in all seriousness. If you don’t believe scheme (plus a draft pick/costly free agent heavy line) is playing a significant part in the relative success of this defense, then it’s not worth arguing. Edmonds at this point is a luxury addition on top of that, purposely built to take on specific teams the Bills are likely to face in the playoffs (cough, Chiefs). Basically against the other all world QB, you want every edge you can muster, so for the current time/price he’s doing exactly what you want.
  20. Palpably Unfair Acts -Rule 12, Section 3, Article 2 “Beginning in the 2017 NFL season, deliberately committing fouls to manipulate the game clock was classified as unsportsmanlike conduct.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unfair_act https://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/221611/how-the-nfl-prevents-teams-from-using-penalties-to-win-games https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2016/11/27/the-ravens-intentionally-held-nine-players-took-a-penalty-and-a-safety-to-oddly-win-their-game/ Of course this is the one that the Patriots, Titans and Ravens have bent at one time or another in random games. Most likely given the fact you are playing in the only and marquee playoff game with everyone watching, you wouldn’t want to tempt referree fate in a hostile stadium (and the commissioner power to overturn the game) with blantant holds like that. Also, given that something similar hasn’t happened since 2019, it was likely one of those internal memo/point of emphasis situations where teams were told to cut it out or else face real consequences.
  21. Defense is fine. Mahomes reverting to his streetball BS due to the pressure like in the super bowl. Settle in on offense. Stay the course and throttle them.
  22. Think it’s almost entirely pass rush / development of Epinesa and Rousseau -related for two reasons: 1) Pass rush was the team’s primary weakness last year 2) Pass rush was essential in winning the super bowl against the team they lost to the previous round All the reporters both local and national focused on it during their visits and apparently the new / improved guys have passed the eye test. Therefore with the last theoretical blocker clear to the big dance, why not?
  23. Beasley without a doubt. Wait sorry…read the title wrong, thought it said outbreak player. My bad!
