Rd 2, Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida State
MasterStrategist replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
You should go look up KBs first 2 years in the NFL. Then gets hurt and lazy. Coleman has way better YAC ability, coupled with a work ethic that was non existent for KB. These are lazy comparisons. Play speed and forty time are much different things. IMO, Coleman was very high on the list of WRs playing through contact. That's just as important, bc some blazing 4.3 guy that can't get off a jam or gets their route disrupted downfield doesn't add much -
Who do you want with our first pick in 2nd?

They had Coleman running go routes and outmuscling/jumping on alot of deep passes. He had an insane catch rate, on passes deemed catch-able, and has some of the strongest hands in draft. KB is a horrible comparison, that ppl make. KB was a very good receiver his first 2 years, then got lazy. Keon is the opposite of lazy, and has the attitude Beane/Coach likes. His forty was bad, but his gauntlet and other explosion drills were very good. I could see using him on all 3 levels of the passing game and is a solid blocker and major redzone threat -

I'd like Buffalo to trade with Washington: Bills: 33, 144, 163 Wash: 36, 100 Gets us an extra pick in the top 100 Rd 2 pick 36: Keon Coleman Rd 2 pick 60: Bralen Trice Rd 3: best availabe WR and S in any order -
I think that's a bit much, I'm also looking at Rich Hill chart. I think a possibility, without including 2025 2nd, is.... Buf: 33, 144, 163 Was: 36, 100 Pretty even and avoids 2025 picks being traded. Also gets us 1 additional pick in the top 100, by sacrificing an extra 5th

Bills interested in Deebo Samuel per Mike Giardi

Unfortunately since they executed the 5th year option, they are not allowed to convert his salary to bonus. Although, it is technically possible the 49ers extend him and put low cap hit on 2024, but they'd be eating a lot of $$$s if he was immediately traded. So Greg is correct that it's possible, but with some extreme/unlikely caveats -

100% agree and getting the 49ers to convert Deebos $20m base salary ( or most of it) to bonus (then take on as dead cap in a trade), is likely costing more than a 2nd round pick. Somehow shout this from the rooftops, or hope a reporter asks Beane this question. @Warriorspikes51 might lose it tho -

You seem to question the NFL cap rules, so providing this as education to all. https://overthecap.com/collective-bargaining-agreement Go to article 13 in the above. Section 2 is plain and simple, and you can read other parts of the document for additional clarification on salary cap. We have to be under the cap during the league year, which started March 13th EDIT: as @Warriorspikes51 would like it, we'd trade for Deebo then have to immediately release him because we would then be over the cap. Sounds like a great plan to give up a free 2nd rounder right? -

You're incorrect about the NFL cap rule.... sorry pal, even if we're interested or not -

I've asked you this before (for other trades you've brought up), but when you're not dreaming/fantasizing about trades and back to reality.... How do we fit Deebos cap hit under our current situation? Unless 49ers convert almost all of his $20m salary to bonus (hence they eat more dead cap), it's just not possible as I see.it. On top of that, if 49ers ate more dead cap, it will likely take more than pick 33 to get him. I'll let you explain now. -

There's been way too many "trade proposals", be it JJ, Aiyuk, Higgins...now Deebo. Fans need to remember that we need to fit said player under our current cap, BEFORE we renegotiate a new deal. So even if the "price is right", it's technically not possible unless Beane somehow generates the needed cap. And FYI, Deebos 2024 cap hit is HUGE. -
Lots of very good WRs left.... If someone told us 2 weeks ago that we'd move back and get a 3rd, high 5th and still be able to draft AD or others...I think many would be happy. This immediate reaction is kinda crazy when nobody knows how these guys will play out in the NFL...at least we have better draft picks to hit on tomorrow

I thought Worthy would be a star with us, KC just got a great player. Beane obviously didn't feel the same, and they must have someone (or two) ranked higher or similar. Let's see who we take at 32. Getting into the 3rd round, at 95 is a great spot. Gives flexibility in Rd 2 to go alot of directions

I had doubts he's the "consensus" #4 receiver. He wasn't that high during season. I think this next tier of WRs is very good, but so diverse and specific scheme fits that will work for certain teams. Won't be shocked if Jax selects BTJ at 23, or if he slides to end of Rd 1 or early Rd 2. Going to be very good WRs when we pick, or if we move back
