Ha I was not boycotting...good try 🤣 Again why is Jonathan Allen such an upgrade at his cost, vs drafting? Please enlighten us all. Since it's a no brainer. Again, if it's a no brainer and you know so much on Allen, why is Washington putting him on trade block/potentially cutting him when they have $50m+ of cap space? And we are supposed to re do his deal, kick the can why? What would his restructure look like? If you can answer these questions, that would help me understand what your plan is for rebuilding this DL and managing a cap when we need to extended several talented core players. Again, if this is a serious no brainer and you seem all in on this move, I'd hope you have alot more to offer than "pair him with Garret".

Look at Philadelphia he says. Well, they draft extremely well. People act like they "bought" their DL, some they did, but it was drafting those monsters inside that made the difference this season. How'd Philly do LY btw? With a draft loaded with DL talent, this is not the time to be "buying" vets/trading for a $16m salary. Why is Washington trading him? Another contender coming off a NFCCG loss?

Not disagreeing, but we also have alot of core guys to extend and will be putting pressure on future cap periods. So in a silo/1 year go all in, sure we can afford it. But that's not the approach Beane is going to do.

How we affording this again? Cue the typical fans pay attention to names, and ignore the value/$ implications on rest of team. I like Jonathan Allen but not at his cap $ for 2025. And we have more extensions to make beyond Shakir. We have 5-6 real bad contracts on this team RN. Beane might be able to fix some of them via pay cut (ie: Von or Daquon), but if not, we are stuck with some of those deals and going to be stuck with dead cap again on the others.

Your last comment on the cap, isn't as simple as that. They could guarantee his salaries in 2026/2027, for example. Those could each be $16m for all we know. Bottom line, it's not $32m divided 4. Im sure they structured this to hit the hardest cap wise, in 2-3years from now. Beane needs to stop losing so much dead cap, due to poor deals. We have Benford, Groot as locks to be extended. Highly likely for Bernard, and I'd put Cook at 50/50 though hopeful to keep him beyond 2025. Key is hitting on these 1st/2nd round picks...we're eating Elam $ essentially and Kincaid/Coleman need to elevate their game.

I've said many times this offseason, that it's a GREAT year for looking at CB and S in FA. And DL help in the draft. Id be looking to move Elam, sign a solid #2 corner and find a true centerfielder/FS...FA class is pretty stocked with options. More swings at DL, better chance of hitting a homerun. Talent aligns with our picks. We need to draft at least 2 DL, if not 3, with our Day 1 & 2 selections. Depending what is done with Von and Daquon, and possibly AJE. Sign a Slayton type at WR. Our last 2 top picks are Kincaid and Keon. Both these guys need to take a major step up in 2025. There's a reason we brought in an infantry of DL coaching this offseason, I expect alot of resources/draft picks spent on rebuilding that room...along with secondary.

McD/Beane literally say the same about rookies/2nd year players that they are counting on. No different than Elam, Kincaid, Bishop, Cook, Ford, Basham, AJE, Bernard. Motivational tactics, also honest truth. It's up to these young players to put in the offseason work. Bernard, Cook, Benford...all recent examples of players who had similar comments made about them and made HUGE improvements...year 1 to 2, and continue to grow. But for those success stories, you have Basham and Fords of the world, and Elam is the next bust. AJE and Kincaid look like average players right now. Kincaid has untapped potential, but as Beane said, Dalton needs to improve his playing strength. Coleman has a huge spotlight on him, for many reasons. This offseason for him, Bishop, and Dalton are going to be the difference for our team. We need them to be the next young "core" to develop into very good starters.

If anyone is still clinging to the thought that Ray Davis is taking significant snaps from Cook or anywhere near his skill level, just delusional. Cook is our best playmaker, not named Josh Allen...facts. You don't easily replace his explosiveness/elite vision and quickness. 18 TDs was no accident, and he's shown improvement every season.

37 year old QB, hefty price tag, who isn't "elite"? I'm sure he'd upgrade alot of "middling" teams...like the Steelers. But this isn't Tom Brady leaving New England to Tampa. I think it would be a huge mistake for anyone to trade for him. This is a negotiation tactic by the Rams. Makes no sense for them to move on either, they have a young/talented team who could easily be in the hunt for a title next year if things go their way.

I'd LOVE an Ole Miss combo, with our 1st w picks. Starting with Nolen, I'd be running to the podium if he's there. Rd 2, there are several DEs that intrigue me. Princely has the best raw skillset IMO. Rebuild secondary in FA. Then I think you're getting a lethal pass rushing combo with these 2 players, paired with Ed and Groot. That would be a very versatile DL.

Our offense needs a Diggs type separator, not Tee. I'd rather grab a guy like Slayton, than Tee. Half the money, at least, and would be quite productive in our offense. Use the rest of that $ to lock up talent in the secondary....so many very good to almost elite CBs and Safeties available in FA this year. This could be a great time to either find a deal, or just go after a premier talent like Holland/Murphy Jr combo. Then attack DL early and often in draft. Been banging this drum for week+, this is a franchise-changing type draft at DL if we grab 2-3 early. Could remake our DL for years to come and on the cheap.

Those are click bait, I'm sure....you fell for the trap. There is zero chance Milano is traded. He's a locker room/coach favorite and I think he'll be back to our best defender this year. He was looking closer to himself by end of season, that leg/knee injury was always going to take a while to come back from.

Give me: Cb-Murphy Jr S-Holland Wr- Slayton DL-Calais Bring back Ty and Hollins at least. Cut Von and Daquon. We'll need a new deal/restructure Josh to fullest and Ed. Possibly rework deals for some others. We'd be set in secondary and can attack the draft at DL, where there will be plenty of options to choose from at edge and DT.

Monos and his comments aside, just looking at this upcoming season- I think Beane would be wise to hit FA for 2 secondary players. There are a TON of upgrades to be had at CB and S. Then players like Slayton, others at WR, who are complementary pieces available. If we stick to our approach from this past year. Honestly, we need to count on Kincaid/Coleman/Samuel to produce more. Then I'd go and use all 3 of our 1st and 2nd round selections on DL. This is a strong DL class, you hope to hit gold with 1 of 3 and find 2 capable starters. Rams went heavy DL rebuild with young players LY, and sitting in great shape now. So build a strong secondary via FA, hit the draft for DL where the talent is aligned with our picks.

With the DL talent and our major need to improve up front, I'm all for going DT/DE with all 3 of our picks early. Cut Von and Daquon. Restructure/new deal for Josh, restructure Ed/others....and go sign: WR: Slayton, bring back Hollins RB: bring back Ty Dt/De: sign Calais Cb: sign Murphy Jr S: sign Holland Plus our likely extension candidates (Benford, Shakir, Groot, Cook). I think we can get to $35-40m in cap space, depending how many restructures/kicking of the proverbial can. That's plenty to get these deals accomplished.

Both Beane and McD to blame IMO. Beane for not finding the "home run" picks, and Coach has a certain "mold" he wants (traits/character). At some point, you realize this is football and you draft best talent that's available, period. Not reaching for need, or being too conservative with player trait evals. Don't ignore altogether, but we will always find a way to field talent. Qb aside, we should be looking to acquire as many premier talented athletes as possible. They will find their way onto the field. Beane absolutely lies about drafting the best talent available. It's best talent at a position of need, who happens to be average to high character. We need to have a philosophical change in our evaluations, if we continue to produce good to above avg players in the draft, and ZERO really great to elite guys. Beane has put us in a predicament where we have ALOT to fix on defense. He needs to hit on 4 impact starters, IMO. DE, CB, S, DT. I hope it happens, but my head says Beane does his usual find "good", not great players. If it's McD or drafting or a philosophy, we need to find a way for our early draft picks to be difference makers immediately.

An absolutely great 1st full year for Joe Brady and his offense. Top 5 OL, limiting turnovers, more efficient offense/explosive ground game. We still need a boundary receiver that can separate. Coleman and Kincaid have alot of pressure on them to step up, IMO. Beane made that clear. DE, CB, DT, S: same story different year. Beane needs to finally hit some triples/homeruns early on in draft, especially at DL and CB. I know this is about the offense. But I think we could get even better output wise, with a stronger defense. I'm all for blowing up the DL: cut Von, AJE, and Daquon. All are "net positive" savings on the cap. FA/draft, both, find some studs. B-level players, while useful in regular season, just doesn't get it done son. Beane, looking at you to fix this problem that beens alluding you for years.

@Einstein and all. The OP's point is meaningless. It's like having a great/fast defense in basketball that can run a full court press and disrupt an offense. Then say, well why didn't Team B do that against them too. It's clear as day to every NFL coach how to beat KCs offense. A disruptive front 4 and strong secondary. It's an easy concept. If you have 1 and not the other, great QBs and coaches (like Mahomes/Reid) will always find ways to exploit it. Pass rush and coverage need to work in tandem - similar to a QB and his timing on routes with a WR. Eagles have the luxury, because of stellar drafting, to have both a dominant front 4 and secondary. Add in an all'pro in Baun at LB. OP wants to say "it's the complete opposite of what Buffalo ran". Well, we aren't Philly. Philly mixed looks, but mostly ran cover 4/quarters coverage. Sounds familiar, what we ran with McD in past when our secondary was elite. Bottom line, we shouldn't be debating "scheme". This entire topic should be focused on talent and where we need to focus resources heading into 2025. If it's not abundantly clear, dline and secondary need a makeover. I would have loved to have seen us try what Philly did last night against KC. We would have been torched all night, because our front 4 gets ZERO pressure. Mahomes is human when he feels pressure. Problem is we don't have the juice up front, and our secondary was too slow to keep up with anyone. Again TALENT/execution, Vic isn't some mastermind....cover 4 has been around forever. Seattle thrived mixing cover 4/cover 3 looks when they had a stud secondary, and a solid dline.

Probably the most simplified post ever.... Everyone wants to point to "scheme". It's called the Eagles have all pro talent at every level, and an amazingly talented dline. Fangio is playing his exact scheme he deployed in past stops, most recently Miami. They mixed man/zone all night. But the key was the dline play. Collapsed the pocket/suffocated the run game. They could stay in 2 high looks and press, because of their dline and speed/talent at corner. Amazing what happens to a defense that went from 28th to best in NFL---- Baun, DL acquisitions, and Mitchell/Coop. They have crushed recent drafts, 3-4 critical upgrades to a defense that was injured LY and needed to improve at Cb and Safety. TL/DR: you can't coach speed/talent into a player. Fangio is a clear upgrade to their staff, but he's not better than Babich/McD. Put us with that talent and see what happens.

My point isn't field a Philly defense, that's why I said they are 1 of 1. But that same Philly defense was horrible LY too. They decided to invest in the secondary primarily, and DL. Even after trading away Reddick. This defense can be overhauled in an offseason. Am I expecting Philly results, no. But 3-4 new starters is doable...speed and physicality up front and secondary. We have 3 high picks that could accomplish alot. Beane has to execute and field a better defense in 2025. I don't care if we get a Tee Higgins. Is Josh going to play as efficient as LY? Our defense once again held us back. We needed a literally perfect offensive performance to win. Shouldn't take that, we need a defense capable of playing like Houstons for example.
