  1. For seeding, a Tennessee loss helps put us in that #3 spot. Im rooting for Browns
  2. Seems very odd, Monday at 4pm (only 4 hrs before gametime) is truly correct. Perhaps Sunday would make more sense, and what Sal actually means. We will see
  3. Saturday by 4pm, is the latest he can be activated so he can play this week. But he could be activated sooner, just not likely as they will prob want to see how he holds over next couple days of practice
  4. Yes, and not many teams have the secondary that Baltimore has. Bmore did a good job taking away what Pitt likes to do this yr, quick short to intermediate passing game, with occasional (and often well-timed) deep route. Josh needs to play similar to last yr, aggressive yet not careless. They tend to get overaggressive on defense, just hope to take advantage of that with 1-2 well timed deep balls. And with Dupree out, thats a huge loss. He might have the best burst off the edge in the NFL. And with Bush already out, that defense is still real solid but that trickle down effect on the depth chart will soon be noticable...they aren't a deep team at LB or pass rush, but have premier guys
  5. Bud Dupree limping into locker room...that would be a huge loss
  6. I would say Bmore losing gives us more security to lock up a playoff spot, but Steelers loss is also helpful for potential seeding. I'm rooting for Steelers, I think they have a top 2 seed locked up with that schedule remaining. We'd have to win out and hope they also lose 2 games
  7. Pittsburgh should win big, >14 pts, but not the smartest thing Tuitt has ever done
  8. Agree completely. Not sure why it is hard for people to follow: 1. Isolated Covid cases on a team- impacted player(s), and close contacts, forced to go on COVid list and game stays as scheduled 2. Covid outbreak on team, where continued positive test results are appearing daily, then NFL is doing the best thing possible, by trying to contain the "spread" and delay the game. They've done this consistently Now, if someone wants to point a finger at the Bmore S&C coach / team not following exact NFL protocol, that is fair and the NFL is making judgements (ie: penalizing draft picks, fines, etc), which can also be criticized. But in terms of delaying/postponing games, Denver situation was different than Bmore.
  9. Eagles playing like punks, big surprise with Swartz.
  10. Agreed. Beane has built his roster at the Lines in a similar fashion, solid depth and no superstars, but 2-3 solid guys. They overspent on Morse, but Dawkins is a real good player. Good coaching has helped a lot as well
  11. That was the knock on Knox coming out of college, was banged up quite often
  12. I think everyone reading into things too closely...no way those last 3 don't dress. Hyde on the other hand will be gametime, and Harrison i could see as an inactive
  13. Live, it looked like 3 deep and White jumped that out route
  14. Can't agree more. In regard to "check with me" plays. Josh did a real solid job against New England getting us to the right play. Off hand, I remember the John Brown tunnel screen and Josh checking to Moss a couple times, including the end of 3rd quarter run that the Pats looked like they weren't expecting us to run a play before quarter expired
  15. Something about this game reminds me of the infamous Bills vs Pats mnf game, Leodis fumble. Bills defense played out of their mind, and offense managed to get some solid drives. See how this turns out...
  16. Defense has been playing solid, but a turnover now would be nice
  17. Or because Bates' snap exchange was shaky, his first shotgun snap took an eternity to get back there. I trust the coaches, and we just scored...so....
  18. Thats some high quality halftime adjustments, great answer!
  19. Agree on Milano. Situational (3rd downs) for sure, and hopefully almost at full go against Pats. Historically use their Rbs in their passing game alot, more so with Harry potentially out with concussion. Tre looks to be moving ok to me. I could have missed something, but looked normal. His pass interfence was a horrible call, and his "trail" on man coverage on the crosser to Mims was just good execution for Jets. I didn't see Darnold target him much
  20. In theory, that'd be great. Outside of Bmore, San Fran might have the most diverse run game/short passing attack. We just don't have the personnel, imo, to execute the same way. But we do have options to have a solid offensive attack, Daboll better expect press man (similar to KC) bc we struggled with that. And Josh needs some quick hitting routes to get into a rhythm. Admittedly, I have not watched Pats other losses. But I know they force alot of turnovers still, so we need to take care of the ball and keep our 2ns half defensive momentum
  21. 100% agree, great post. More aggressive on 1st down, translated to many more 2nd/3rd downs with longer to go and improved recognition of run/pass. I think it might have been the Dallas Thanksgiving game last year when Romo made this exact comment during the game (Bills are aggressive early in downs so that they can keep everything in front of them on 3rd down & rally to the ball). Not sure why we haven't been doing this all season. But I'm glad 2nd half we might have found our identity again. Yes, against the Jets, but nonetheless, something to build off of
  22. At least today, we had much better rhythm between the 20s...horrible redzone though. Agree during the 2 losses, offense had poor rhythm (except 2-3 possessions in that Titans game). Hard to say if it is playbook complexity, poor execution, or a combo of both. I agree many players have noted the complexity of our scheme. However, I have seen Josh and this offense perform like a top 5 offense, weeks 1-4. Hard to put it all on Josh, but when he misses quick easy throws and starts the games 1-5, or 0-3 that definitely hurts the rhythm. Two things bother me about Daboll: 1. When Josh is "off", he doesn't adjust. We need to come into games almost sith a backup gameplan that is more simple, less complex or whatever we want to call it. Put more pressure on the OL, Rbs in that situation. Run more bootlegs, easier completions to get Josh back into a rhythm. 2. Press man: we saw Baltimore, albeit their secondary is outstanding, and Kc/Ten run press man. Now Bal did it with cover 1, even cover 0 blitzes last year. while Kc especially played a bit of cat/mouse and bailed to cover 2 man. Either way, I want to see more "bunch" formations, motion, etc that helps our smaller WRs beat the initial jam and get rub routes. Diggs is our only Wr that I trust to get off a jam. At least today, we saw a couple bunch formations and motion with Diggs/others. 3. Complexity: although our scheme is "complex" (reads in pass game/routes etc), I would like to see some more creativity with formations. Especially designed to help the run game. Watch the Steelers, and they are a great example of formation "complexity" that makes them very diverse to defend against.
  23. Just today, I give Daboll a pass on the run game. Being limited to 2 TEs, and injuries up front. As much as the red zone deficiencies, I think we would have been more angry not to drive the field. Just didn't have the timing or execution on some of the redzone possessions. Illegal formation was questionable, but also not a fan of a couple play calls. Need to avoid the penalties as well, once we get down there. Illegal formation, at least this week, appeared to be a poor officiating call. And erased a great read by Josh, and route by Davis. Days like today, where Josh did a solid job taking what the defense provided, I'm fine relying on the pass.game. But we know Josh will occasionally have his "off games", up to Daboll to adjust then, and agree Daboll hasn't done that well in our 2 losses.
