Not sure but I'm glad you see my point.
Like I said earlier; to outright cut him next March it cost the Bills $5.5M.
Yeah basically stuck with the man child

It's a 7th along with $4M in guaranteed salary.
Great point. We would probably have to trade him and a 6th just to clear cap space.

The reason I defend him so hard is many of those targets aren't lay ups and yet Keon has shown when the balls in his hand he can get YAC or score TDs in the redzone. Is he elite? Nope but none of the WR drafted in the 24-45 range of that draft have shown to be. You feel he's best at his slot so are we seeing the best version of him? No so why let another team get him for a 6th and do it? It's like when we drafted Lynch for nothing to Seattle but let me guess you like that move? Cuz Lynch was immature here too but...
Ladd is pretty damn good. At the time it wasn’t even a question. That’s why the chargers sprinted right up to the podium afterwards. Dumb.

Youth, size, general athletic ability. Yes, he's been hot garbage but if the Bills cut him outright he would be picked up by another team before lunch tomorrow. He HAS value right now. Maybe trade him in March. Cut now, as some suggest? No way.
He may have value. I’m sure someone would be dumb enough to offer a 7th.

We got a 5th for Elam and he couldn’t even get on the field.
do not underestimate GMs who think they are smarter than each other
Beane drafting him over mcconkey would be a prime example.

A 22 year old big-bodied receiver? Tons of teams would send back a late pick and take a flyer on him as a reclamation project.
I dont want to see him out there, either. But I wouldnt give up on him just yet. Hes too young and the upside is just too great to throw him away.
What upside? Speed, route running, jump ball win rate, work ethic? Because he has been an abysmal failure in all categories.

They have as good a shot as anyone if they are playing their best ball
Not if they have to go on the road and win 3 in a row. Losses to Atlanta and Miami on the road, reinforce that. That run defense is putrid. This scheme with undersized players is a disaster.

Yeah trade him for Ladd McConkey. A lot of us were begging for McConkey with the pick
If a guy runs a 4.65 40, can’t separate in college and has mediocre at best production in college he’s not going to turn into a 4.4 guy who can separate in the NFL. you don’t waste pick #33 on him. You probably pick him in the 4th or 5th.
Just a horrible pick by Beane. Beane can’t analyze WRs nor DLmen and it’s costing us. We must have by far the worst front 7 in football (defense) and instead of trading for a Calais Campbell type AND a horrible Harry (these types woud cost day 3 picks) he got played by the backup GM team in Miami
of course Pegula would never fire Beane, he won’t even fire Adams. And I do think there is tension between McDermott and Beane
Those of us who were pounding the table for this took a lot of flack for it. Yes he picked Josh. After that beane is middling at best as a gm. Don’t even get me started on the ludicrous contracts he hands out.

With all the scouting and background checks they do, how did they miss the kind of behavior that he is exhibiting?
Because the “tiger wish he could” comment made everyone love him. Dude only had a 45.2 percent contested catch rate in college. Should never have been drafted at that spot. Especially with Ladd mckonky sitting there. Beane is so overrated it’s disgusting.

Ebbs and flows of a long game and season....
But Josh looked happy today for real... He had his smile back
He was playing loose ... Aggressive
He has the best pure arm since elway and Marino... He put it on display today
Again good quarterbacks bring out great in Josh... Baker a former number one overall pick... Drafted ahead of Josh.. golfing buddies .. talk trash
This is the Josh Allen that we all fell in love with... He was free he was playing like Brett favre again
Oh three touchdowns passing three touchdowns rushing
Only the second time in NFL history.. and the first time was our boy Josh
Go bills
Maybe because he was allowed to actually throw the ball downfield today, and not look like some reiteration of Tyrod Taylor dinking and dunking all game.

It blows my mind that these media guys, especially the radio, make these crusades on Beane for his WR comments and ego but sat back on Whaley, said nothing about Rex, the 13 seconds, and stuff we find out about.
What's the axe they have on Beane when he's actually a good solid dude?
A “good solid dude” should mean absolutely nothing in a results based profession.

Its this fanbase, they are really going to melt down when he doesn't live here after retirement. He can love the Bills, love the fanbase and NOT want to live there when he is done. This is part of the fantasy they make up in their heads, along with the fact they can't grip the concept that he is human and he has changed this offseason. I am with you, some have to be living under rocks not to see it.
People change and so does their goals and more important their priorities as life goes on. I guess we will see, but with how he looks right now, I can't see him going past next year tops.Throw in the fact he is married to a Hollywood star, and living in California. Attitudes can change real quick. Even in some of his press conferences, I get this zen vibe from him. At some point, he will need to put his foot down. And I don’t mean screaming at people. I mean leading fearlessly regardless of what others think.

Your 3rd point is crucial and is the basis for the argument over how much Allen's play is responsible for what we're seeing. My sense is that Allen continues to bend over backwards to give guys a chance. An that is an issue. I also suspect that in his heart of hearts Allen doesn't trust the system and as the season has ground on he's losing trust in some of the WR's.
I would also suggest that last years system was different in that it still featured a bit of the cowboy offense that DaBoll & Dorsey favored. There were multiple games where the Bills understood they were in a shootout and unleashed the O accordingly. This season with the exception of the Ravens game they have resisted this and in games where the offense struggles early and the D is porous they continue to double down on the short pass/run game. And even in the Ravens game they waited until the last possible minute.
Ding ding ding. We have a winner. Great post! Spot on.

If people think Allen is playing very poorly, they should take a look around the league. He’s still top-5 or top-10 in most interesting stats. Going into this past week he still had the #1 odds for MVP.
If your QB has to play at an MVP level to win games then something is screwed up.
I don’t think most people think that at all. It’s the fact that he even has to be Superman game in and out that is totally infuriating. Dude is one of the best playoff qbs in history and it still isn’t good enough. Not a reflection on him at all. It’s a screaming indictment on both beane and McDermott. Not to mention some of his teammates not executing in critical moments.

Bottom line Josh isnt right in he head right now. We have all seen it and talked about it, you can see it in how he plays and the look on his face.
I think Hailee has him messed up, AND the lack of WR talent has gotten to him.
Im gonna double down and say he retires sooner than later.
You never know. He is rich, loves golf, and who knows what the bumps and bruises will look like in three years. Couple that with the frustration and playoff failures, it would not shock me in the least. I’m assuming you are getting the eye rolls due to the retirement thing. Because you would have to be living under a rock or extremely poor in reading body language to not know there is something not right. The fire and fun factor look lacking this season. Him sulking quietly at the end of the bench by himself is not a good look.

It’s as dumb as it sounds. Let’s take a once in many lifetimes QB, pay him $55m, stick him under center, run a ton of 13, take him totally out of rhythm, and intentionally try to limit the number of possessions we give him. We’re playing a style teams on a rookie QB contract or mid level starter should use, meaning that the balance of our roster will be of lesser quality. It’s so friggin dumb it boggles the mind. That’s it. Discuss.
Post of the year right here!! A great coach will mold the system to maximize a players talents and abilities. McDermott is clueless and has zero understanding of what he has in Josh Allen. Instead we have to listen to complimentary football bs. The idea is to score and score often. If your defense loses a game 52-48, then that’s on you. Apparently you’re not as good of a defensive genius as you think you are. 13 seconds was a prime example of that. He should have been fired the very next day.

What a disaster of a pick.
Ya think. Ladd was there all day. Coleman had a 45.8 percent contested catch rate in college. What the hell did you think it would look like in the pros? The arrogance of beane is breathtaking. Just dumb. Slow, lazy, and not very bright. Bad combination for an nfl receiver. Also heard about him being disciplined for not showing up to practice a couple of times. Not sure if it’s true.

Just a few years back, the perfect game followed up by the 13 seconds game, the Bills passing game was humming and the offense, with a pretty mediocre ground game, was basically as unstoppable as an offense can be.

My thoughts:
1) Relax the rest of the season, this is not a Superbowl team.
2) This is the same exposed team we saw in the two losses before the bye.
3) After this season, yet another season that we waste prime Josh, it's time for McBeane to go. The roster building is flawed and the HC seams to be losing the players. Today's effort was inexcusable.
(4) As for Josh, he is just not himself. I don't know if it is getting married and making big time commercials during the offseason, but I don'tsee his usual swagger. Even on the rare occasion someone is open, he is often off target and hesitant to run. He's also likely dispirited with the lack of receiving talent and Brady's inability to scheme against man coverage.
5) All these injuries cannot be just bad luck. Have we gone a game with a long term loss of someone?
Absolutely right on all counts.

And for the 1000 time mcconkey is the better receiver whether he is lined up as wr 1, wr 2, or slot. At the end of the day can you play or not. Bills absolutely did not need a player of his skill set. The blue print was already there when they lost with 13 sec. And the blue print was on full display this weekend against the bucs. Spare me the dt are nt nonsense.
