  1. half? More like 90% of the cost. I think if we are giving up 5-10MIL of the cap for a RB, then the return has to be heavily in our favor. I think we would have to swap 2nd round picks (moving up 18 spots) and bring a 6th up to a 3rd/4th round pick sounds like reasonable compensation for cap hit. IF we don't get exactly what we want from this trade, I say don't do it. Go w/ a rookie.
  2. Whoa! This is what I want right here! WR Position fixed.
  3. I'm good with an OT, DE, or WR with the first pick. Just as long as it's not a bonehead pick like RB... (I don't see Beane messing this up). Also, like others have said, if Simmons drops down into the teens, I hope Beane goes up and gets him. The dude is a beast.
  4. We should be drafting a new RB almost every single year to replenish the herd.
  5. If we can get them for the same price, I don't have a problem with that. I just don't want to sink more money into QB. Spend the money at other places.
  6. Dak is a glorified busdriver. He has a great OLine He has an elite RB behind him. He has a great WR corp. Dallas ends at 8-8... So why did they fail? Coach? Really. Buffalo totally destroyed them. Buffalo's DEF stopped their offense until we started playing prevent defense at the end of the game. SO when Dak get paid 37-40MIL and then they have to start cutting talent around him... Can he carry that offense??? NO, he can't. Now, If I was Dallas. I would try and trade Dak to Miami for 2 1st round draft picks + Josh Rosen. That way you can either bundle picks to get Tua or pick a different heir apparent AND you still have picks to help other positions.
  7. To be honest with you, I have no clue if Flores belongs in the hall, or jimmy, or cowher. All were great coaches in my opinion, but I think the reason why jimmy and cowher were chosen over the others is bc it was a publicity stunt for NFL 100. Which BTW worked out very well for the NFL. The surprise on their faces and their speechlessness was very heart tugging.
  8. CorkScrew was pretty much how I was thinking about this topic. 1. Josh Allen is our starter. We do not need anyone else behind him 'to be ready'. We will live and die with this production. 2. How much at a minimum are you going to pay your BACKUP QB? Nobody on that list is going to get less than 25MIL to play. So you basically want to suck up 25MIL for a QB that's going to sit on the bench! 3. Barkley's cap hit this year is 2MIL. He is a capable backup. 4. Let's use that 25MIL somewhere where's it actually needed... anywhere but QB...
  9. Pretty simple. The NFL in it's 100 year glory wanted to have coaches on each of the NFL pregame shows to get into the hall. They wanted it very open and for everyone to see. Basically a big NFL commercial in the middle of a pregame show.
  10. For players like this, I hope and pray the Bills have a talent department that evaluated current player talent level during the season. This way Beane already knows that Norman is washed up and not to waste any time on him... We don't need anymore DBs retiring at halftime...

  12. I thought it would be funny that the HC of the Rams would come and be our OC...
  13. You think McVay will do well as our OC?
  14. Hard Pass on Cooper. Look at his individual game stats this year. He was horribly brutal on the road. 15. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-angeles-rams/todd-gurley-16734/ Well, if I read the info correctly, Gurley still has 4 years left on his deal, free agent in 2024 His cap hit is: YR Cap Hit 20 17.2 MIL 21 13.2 MIL 22 14.2 MIL 23 12.5 MIL That sounds like alot for a platooning RB. Now, if like 'what' said AND they give us a great draft pick too, like a 2nd or 3rd round pick, you could in-essence split the cap hit over the 2 players (in your head). Contract Notes: $21.95M guaranteed at signing (signing bonus + 2018 salary) 2019 salary fully guarantees on 3/15/2019 2020 Roster Bonus: $7.55M (guarantees 3/15/2019) 2020 salary fully guarantees on 3/20/2020 2021 Roster Bonus: $5M (guarantees 3/20/2020, paid the 3rd league day of 2021) 2022 Roster Bonus: $1M (due the 3rd league day of 2022) 2022 Training Camp Bonus: $4M 2023 Roster Bonus: $1M (due the 3rd league day of 2023) 2023 Training Camp Bonus: $4M 2023 Escalator: $2.5M $1M for 1,200+ rush yards, or 1,650 yards from scrimmage (exercised in 2018) $1.25M for NFL MVP or Offensive Player of the Year Interesting question (bold) for all the salary cap experts. The 2020 Roster bonus is coming up. Now, I'm assuming it will be paid on the 3rd league day of this upcoming 2020 season (March 21). Now, if someone trades for Gurley and it happens AFTER that date, does that cost stay with the Rams or would it transfer over to the new team??? IF it stays w the Rams, it would be 7.55MIL less of a hit this year.
  16. yeah, heard about this. I think it's a good idea, but it needs to be for all your QB's, not just your starter. Then if you go over that cap, it flows into your 'other cap' for everyone else. Sounds kinda cool.
  17. Well, first, I think they want to see if the league can be viable. THEN after proving that (a couple of years), they can start upping the players salaries depending on the money coming into the league. Once they can start paying players 1-2 MIL a year to play, then I think you will start seeing low to middle tier NFL players really having an opportunity to play in both leagues. BUT being a viable league is way #1 priority and to do that 1) keep player salaries down, 2) the TV deal.
  18. Well unfortunately I live in the DFW area and listen to sports radio down here alot.
  19. Let's learn from some of the other teams on what NOT to do... The Rams sank themselves with that Gurley contract, why help them out? He will probably never again be like he was, so I'd rather have a rookie. The Cowboys just signed Zeke. There are rumblings that his production is starting to go down and NOW they need to sign Dak and try to sign Cooper. So they signed him to bucu money and will be stuck with him. How many more years will Henry be able to produce at a high level with high usage? Lesson Learned: Do not fall in love with your RBs. Sign a new rookie every year in the draft (or bring in alot of rookie FA's). Keep a fresh stable of runners and after a couple of years, trade them if you can or let them go via FA. Let some other team get stuck with them.
  20. With a draft that is DEEP in WR talent, I'd rather take a 4,5,6th round flyer on a WR than pay him 10MIL...
  21. Can you imagine the LITERAL explosion of heads on this message board if the Bills do not get a FA RB or draft one? Then Beane comes out in his press conference after the draft and he says, "No, we didn't need another RB! We got Christian Wade!"...
  22. I know this is an early mock draft and were a LONG way from the draft, but... IF the Bills did this I would totally lose it. Like someone else also said, we did this with Spiller years ago... I remember the Spiller pick. I was out playing softball and I was listening via radio and to myself I was thinking 'alright we will get a good lineman' they said Spiller... WTF! That one was hard to swallow. Plus the Manuel pick was another winner pick. Could have gotten the guy a full round later... But all of that was with the last regime. We will do better w/ Beane.
  23. All this Dak talk makes me laugh. The dude is a glorified bus driver. One of the best Offensive lines in the game. The best RB in the game. A great WR corp. Their record 8-8.... *wut* IF the Cowboys were smart, IMO, trade Dak and a 4-5 round pick away to Miami for their 2 first round picks and Rosen. Dak at 35Mil a year? Crazy.
  24. If we can get him at a good deal, I'd be ok w/ that.
