  1. That's how I feel about Texas players.
  2. We'll draft him in the 8th round.
  3. It's a great concept and I'd love to vote/draft in this... If I was going logically, I would use the following criteria: 1) Young or in the prime of their career 2) Priority of the position in question 3) ELITE (or projected to be) at their position 4) Scarcity of the number of ELITE and above avg players at their position
  4. This isn't directly toward Delpit, but why would we even want a Safety in the 2nd round when we have 2 great Safeties now??? Do we need 3? Sorry, I just haven't understood the fascination for an early round safety.
  5. You would have to do at least 2 rounds because this should be a snake draft 1-32, 32-1... That would be the only way to do it fairly.
  6. For your first part of the post, I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying that 15 WR's will be taken before our 2nd round pick and 25 will be drafted before our 3rd round pick? I'm thinking there will be somewhere between 3-6 WR's drafted in the 1st round. And since we're a little farther than 1/2 way down the first round I highly doubt that 15WR's will be taken before pick 54. 15/54 = 28% of the draft pick will be WR before our 2nd round pick? I would think around buffalo's 2nd round pick, it would be around the 8-10th best WR... Again, this is supposedly a very deep WR class. I think Beane has set us up so we can take BPA at 54. So, if it's a WR, then so be it... BUT there have been LOTS of 2nd round WR's that were every good / elite. Just look at last year's draft and Metcalf falling... As for our 4,5,6 WRs being doo doo and us making the playoffs? Well, our backup QB, Punter, and our RB's except for Singletary were doo-doo and we made the playoffs... I see no correlation between making the playoffs and our 4,5,6 WR's.
  7. Well, we would have to throw in a 2nd round draft pick too....
  8. Fanspeak... zero WR's... didn't fall out well for WR's in this mock. 54: R2P22 CB JAYLON JOHNSON UTAH 86: R3P22 RB JONATHAN TAYLOR WISCONSIN 128: R4P22 EDGE KHALID KAREEM NOTRE DAME 167: R5P21 S GENO STONE IOWA 188: R6P9 OT JON RUNYAN MICHIGAN 207: R6P28 LB SHAQUILLE QUARTERMAN MIAMI
  9. I just did a quick fanspeak mock draft just to see where these guys were ranked. John Simpson and Josh Uche both went in the early second round in that mock. I guess I'll pick one of those 2.
  10. The dude has taken an enormous pounding over the years... His best asset is running, not throwing... and his running isn't what it used to be. Pass.
  11. I think you are missing the point on why we would draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round this year. Supposedly, the WR talent level is very deep this year. I'm not looking for a WR to be 3, 4, or 5 this year, I'm looking for him to be #1 or #2 next year (or at least compete with those guys).
  12. The Falcons have been playing so bad they needed to remind everyone that they play in Atlanta... sad...
  13. For me, some of the worst ones... because I didn't like the picks at the time. 2010 9th overall pick: CJ Spiller. I remember I was really looking forward to us getting either DL or OL help with this pick. I was disappointed when we got a RB. 2013 16th overall pick: EJ Manuel. This was a dude you could have gotten in the 2nd or 3rd round and I didn't like him as a QB anyway. 2002 4th overall pick: Mike Williams. I watch a lot of BigXII sports. Texas linemen are soft and I didn't like this pick. Just like you also shouldn't draft a Texas WR... soft also.
  14. So was he not the same after the year 3 injury? Just curious on your opinion on this. Thx.
  15. So tell all these GM's to move to Texas for a couple of weeks... Is AT&T Stadium big enough to spread out everyone so they could actually walk up to the podium in a hazmat suit?? Use luxury boxes to house each of the teams 'war room'... Come on NFL...
  16. Please tell me he's throwing to Diggs or Smoke...
  17. There's a reason why a number of those teams are always picking in the Top 10 of the draft... and it's not because of luck...
  18. ppl he can trade away and get some more 5,6,7th round picks for next year.
  19. I hope as soon as you saw Miami choose a LB you were sprinting to the podium to make the Tua pick.
  20. I agree that injuries would be a risk with him, but he played hurt last year w/ Seattle and played pretty well. IF he doesn't care about his bonus' they we get him for 15MIL to get a great decoy and while the offense is looking at him, others can get the sack/pressure. IMO, the only true weakness on the defense is the amount of time it takes to get to the QB. If Clowney helps lessen that number and we put pressure on the QB sooner, they defense will be even more deadly than before. I think Clowney would flourish in our defense. If he stays healthy, I bet he could get 10-15 QB sacks... THEN he would get that 20MIL/yr contract he desires.
  21. I totally agree it will not be easy getting that first pick. Jags and Panthers are going to be bad this year... Now, if the Redskins and Lions were smart, they are bypassing QB's in THIS draft that could change their franchise. Tua and Herbert (franchise QB?) will be there. I think they are silly for passing on a QB. Not sure on the bears right now.
