The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
daz28 replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Still better than saying it was going to go away magically on its own. As for exit strategy, well Trump threw all his marbles into the vaccine, so if it failed there would be none. That wouldn't have been the NYT fault, because they just print newspapers for profit. Also keep in mind a lot of people feel it's not the governments job to "keep us safe'. -
More proof that Trump is the ultimate coward. He sure seems to talk like a tough guys who knows it all, BUT he never says much about anything that's controversial to his base. Chauvin and vaccinations have been the biggest issues for a while now, but you hardly hear a peep out of him about either. I have absolutely no doubt that if it served him politically, he'd be on the wrong side of both of these issues. He'd pivot to BLM for Chauvin(like Don Jr), and would be tweeting about how bad vaccines are if he didn't help obtain them.

Biden Confronts The Economic Crisis
daz28 replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That's fine with me as long as I don't have to hear or see what Trump is confronting anymore. They'll just wheel him around for election cycles to bully your representatives into doing his bidding rather than that of their constituents. -
Biden Is The Green Energy President
daz28 replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Fox is already correcting the claims. It's kind of ironic that the crowd you can throw any red meat at, and they'll devour it fell for this. Newest Republican fear mongering: they're coming for your cheeseburgers, because Biden canceled 4th of July failed. -
GOP can’t win elections without cheating
daz28 replied to BillStime's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't think many people would have taken Biden at face value saying "he won by a lot" a day after he lost. He probably would have been smart enought to find, you know, some evidence before he made that claim. Biden supporters aren't the same as Trump supporters, and I don't mean that in a snarky way. -
Who paid for that wall would seem to be of the utmost importance here. Hint-it wasn't Mexico. Are you against people paying for their own walls, but for the government taxing citizens for walls they don't want?????

GOP can’t win elections without cheating
daz28 replied to BillStime's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I know. They call them alternative facts. The KEY part of my post was, "despite facts to the contrary". The people doing the recount are biased AND they are using the wrong pens that could alter ballots, BUTTTTT you're worried about fraud. Sounds like you're ok with allowing potential fraud if it's your guys doing it. -

Sticking your head in the sand is EXACTLY what not accepting a certified election looks like. If Jesus himself came down, and said there was no election fraud, the nutbars STILL wouldn't believe it. They'd just say he's a lib commie, and go on believing whatever they choose to believe despite facts to the contrary. I'm surprised Scott Norwood's field goal miss isn't still under review. -
Matt Gaetz is about to put sniffgate, pizzagate, and cuomogate all to shame. How did Q miss this one?

What is better, no guns, or more guns?
daz28 replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The same people that blame the media for everything don't blame guns for anything. The media never shot anyone, right? -
Failed coup=bad rating at Panera. Got it. We often talk about what's right and fair independent of the administration. Don't let either media tell you rioting or insurrections are ok. We DO need law and order. It's possible to root for the blue, and understand BLM. It's not possible to accept what either is doing violently, but kneeling isn't the same as kneeling on some other person's neck. The irony of this is Trump's administration was gung ho to prosecute, and Biden's is gonna let em walk. Deliver equal justice, that is all.

What is better, no guns, or more guns?
daz28 replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Jim, home security systems, and guns aren't the issue. No one feels that any American should feel unsafe in their own home. It's when people take em in public, and cause problems. That's just a fact, and the "good guys with guns" doesn't even it out. Ultra strict no carry laws might actually keep people safer. If I know every gangster, nutbar, or robber is going to get 20 years, then by removing them, we remove the problem. 100% no, but watch America's shootings go down in number real fast. I can leave my gun at home knowing that the guy who pulls his on me is going to prison for 20 years. If his intent was to kill me, my gun wouldn't stop him anyways. Unless you walk around all day tactically pointing your weapon at everyone it's extremely simple to sneak up, and shoot you dead. You can't stop that with a pistol in a holster. To simplify, it's just easier for police to weed out those with guns and lock em up forever if having a gun in itself is a crime. if aliens blended in with the real humans, I'd like to have a way to spot them. -

No daddy, I wanna hear the 'how the dad with a gun' solved the mass shooter problem story again. -
Exactly. The problem of the crime itself is a no-brainer. Fox gets 'em to argue about the minutia instead. I remember when people used to accept the fact, and move on. Now everyone just makes the Tucker Carlson face when you're right, and hates you later for it.

Biden and the crises er challenge on the border
daz28 replied to Unforgiven's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Seeing he rescinded the policy, I'd have to say yes it was a FACT, and that he realized it made real good "political theater" for Democrats. Trump was an expert at shooting himself in the foot, because he's narcissistic and stubborn. Also, very good of you to take the Republican position they ALWAYS take, that nothing can be done about anything. You'd think as a businessman, he'd love the idea of having tons of people to do the unwanted jobs for peanuts, have them pay taxes, and get nothing in return for it. Holding people's children hostage(possibly forever) is maybe the worst political blunder of all time. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
daz28 replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Fauci was adjusting to changing conditions of a novel virus using his expert knowledge. Trump was always just talking out his ass. Also Trump stared at those empty cupboards for 3 years. If Covid happened in 2015, then I'd blame Obama for lack of PPE but it didn't. -
Combating imaginary racism with actual racism??
daz28 replied to Unforgiven's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This might come as a surprise to you but there are probably THOUSANDS of foundations based on ethnicity/race. You can't have it both ways that a person can donate to whoever/whatever they want, but still complain when they do. I'll admit, I'm not really liking this, but it's not shocking or news to me. -
Biden and the crises er challenge on the border

Again, are you willing to give them any time to address the issue? Were you this upset when Trump was separating families PURPOSELY to be a deterrent??? Are you against FACTUAL headlines? -
Biden and the crises er challenge on the border
daz28 replied to Unforgiven's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I will, but lets call plastic plastic and not a cage, too. Do you think Biden has had sufficient time to handle this crisis? Should he receive time to address it before he gets blasted for it? If were gonna be honest sometimes, let's be honest ALL THE TIME. Also, Biden is not separating children, but instead REUNITING the ones Trump lost track of. -
This is about more than voter ID. As I said I have no problem with the government sending me a voter ID card, so I won't ever have to worry about not being registered ever again. The real issue here is limiting ways and means of voting with no evidence to support why. Why not address REAL issues like why my vote is worth less than other's votes, and why ANYONES vote is basically thrown in the trash can, and counted as a statistic, because it's winner take all. The flyover states already have far more representation in Congress than anyone in a heavily populated area. They're double dipping.

Combating imaginary racism with actual racism??
daz28 replied to Unforgiven's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
What is the one VERY IMPORTANT aspect about this program that you either don't know about, or intentionally left out??? I'll fill you in. It's a PRIVATE program, not a government program. if you believe that in America your money belongs to you, and you can spend it ANY WAY YOU SEE FIT, then you have no issue with this. By your standards and logic here, donating to the Boy Scouts is racist AND misogynistic. Hmph! -

daz28 replied to Unforgiven's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
If those are "cages", then let's put some Tigers in them, and see if Teddy still wants to go in, and film them. I'm all for information, but the headline is SUPER sensationalized. It's a plastic wrap "cage", and if it's wrong for one administration, then it's bad for all. It's pretty obvious this is EXACTLY what Republicans call "political theater". What exactly over the last 20 years has Ted or Texas done to make these conditions better, besides build a wall that keeps them locked in with the cartels and the corrupt Mexican government?? At least Biden is selling the notion that he's trying to find ways to make their conditions at home better. Ted could care less. -

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

This is true Jim, but our politicians feel like rock stars with the power they have. There's no other reason to explain why an 85 year old career politician who's rich doesn't just take their money, and enjoy their retirement. They are ADDICTED to their power. Trump was also full of it when he said he wasn't telling the truth, because he didn't want a "panic". What creates more panic? Drink the water, and you won't get sick, OR watching people drink the water you were told was safe, and watching people die after????
