Call your shot (2020 NFL Draft)
whorlnut replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is my guess as well. Beane has a tendency to move up. If a prospect he is in love with begins to slip, he will make a move. Right now, my guess is he finds a way to get one of these three...Yetur Gross-Matos, CeeDee Lamb, or Tee Higgins. -
Is Josh really getting the coaching he needs?

What if they can’t get the run game working? Then what? -
Bills officially have pick 22 in the 1st round

Imagine if Higgins was going up for that ball on the heave from Allen in OT? That’s exactly what we need. -
People need to understand that Allen is here for a while. As long as Beane and McD are here, so too will Josh Allen.
-
Season is over. Why not?

Well said and I completely agree. We are at the point where we can draft for more need than anything. Beane has shown a tendency to move for players he likes. I don’t put it past him for one second to do that this year and it could be as early as the first round. Man...CeeDee Lamb would be awesome...
-
I would LOVE Higgins. Seems like an AJ Green type. Can’t go wrong there. He’s what we need. A number one, catch radius guy to go after in the red zone or down field. I can’t help but this Allen’s heave to DiMarco would have been a different outcome if we had a guy like Higgins. That said...don’t be shocked one bit if Beane uses some assets to move up and get someone like CeeDee Lamb or Jerry Jeudy if they start to drop. In fact, Lamb is the one guy that could make me forget about Higgins in a hurry. He’s an absolute playmaker. We can’t sign everyone of our picks and keep everyone after cuts. I really think we are far enough along in the process to start packaging picks to move around for as many premium picks as we can get.

What Changes will be made this Offseason?
whorlnut replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People on this board are too quick to blame the offense and think our defense can do no wrong. That’s just not the case. Our offense has its deficiencies for sure, but the defense deserves some of the blame for yesterday’s collapse. Fact of the matter is elite offenses can beat elite defenses. It’s time that we put valuable, premium resources into the offense. If they don’t, then why did they make the moves to get Allen in the first place? They have turned him into a game manager and gave him second tier (at best) weapons. Give him some good protection and another elite receiver and take the chains off him. -

Watched it a lot. His footwork was jacked. Keep hating on Allen. You’re looking foolish. Im sure you thought the ball to Duke was a bad ball too, huh? -

Wrong. It was terrible recognition. Period. It was a poor attempt at completing the catch. -

He has to know this. Brown has been VERY good for us all year but a true number one makes a better effort to know where he is on the field. As far as Duke? It’s a shame it had to happen, but that missed catch ended up costing us huge. -
Potential Bills WR scouting heaven in the Citrus Bowl today
whorlnut replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in College Football
My dream scenario is to draft Tee Higgins and sign AJ Green to a short term deal. Higgins is often compared to Green and who better to learn from? Sort of like Singletary has learned from Gore. It would be a dream pairing. -

You guys should check out Tyler Johnson from Minnesota. Having himself a game. And he’s what we are missing...a bigger bodied receiver than we already have. -
We don’t need another burner. We already have Brown. We need a big bodied receiver to put opposite of Brown.

The Bills beat 1 winning team and 1 play-off team
whorlnut replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe. But I’ll take 6-2 away because that’s where we will be playing in the playoffs. -
Whatever man. Right or wrong, it’s a fact that Watson and Trubisky were rated higher than Mahomes that year. It was a shock to many when the Chiefs took Mahomes.
-
He was a reach at 10. Show me one mock that had him that high.
-
Any way that Christian Wade can play in the playoffs?
whorlnut replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please stop with the Wade stuff. He barely knows football and did most of his work in the preseason against no names. He’s not at all ready for the NFL. Man how fans like underdogs. Good grief. -
Not to mention that some fans hold it against Allen because the Bills traded the pick that the Chiefs used on Mahomes. They also fail to realize that Mahomes at 10 was a HUGE reach at the time.
-
Take a look at Tee Higgins. With all the talent at the top, he might slip a little after Jeudy, Ruggs, and Lamb. I really can’t see 4 WRs going before we pick. If that does happen though, they seem to have really scouted USC games this year and Michael Pittman might be a target in the second. He’s a big dude at 6’4”, 220 and has really strong hands.
-
He’s not NEARLY as bad as some people think he is. Bottom line is they need to get over the “wrong Josh” and pre-draft narratives and open their eyes to what this kid is actually accomplishing. It’s nothing short of remarkable.
