  1. Who cares? You k ow what matters? That he played for one of the top programs in the country and played on the biggest stage. He also produced in the big games. Just stop with these workout numbers. The guy catches a clean ball and he balls out when it matters.
  2. There was no indication that he wasn’t prepared going into the combine. And since you brought it up, that’s even more concerning. He had how long to “be prepared”? Not a good look... Burrows is the unquestioned number one overall pick. He literally has nothing more to prove. Completely different...
  3. I can certainly understand the buzz about Higgins. He might be the best in the class at catching area code balls which Allen usually throws. Especially down the field. Wouldn’t be shocked one bit if he is their target. The only thing that concerns me is his mysterious absence at the on field workouts at the combine...
  4. You “trade down” guys are setting yourself up for a major disappointment. A poster on the first page of this thread nailed it when he said this is the year to trade up. We already have 9 picks and our roster doesn’t have a lot of holes. We aren’t keeping all nine players so I expect a few trade ups to get as many top 75 picks as we can. I just don’t think Beane is the type to sit and allow other teams to take his guy. By trading down we will be out of the running for one of the top DEs, OTs, and someone like Mims or Jefferson. That’s too risky and Beane has made a trend to go get his guys. I think the multiple late round picks will be trade bait.
  5. The correct answer is we need to see how the draft shakes out. If we go get a tackle early, then that tells us what their plans are for Ford. If we don't add a starting caliber tackle in FA or the draft, then they see Ford as a tackle.
  6. Beane is VERY unlikely to trade down...if anything he is more likely to trade up to get his guy.
  7. Beane doesn’t trade down...
  8. Ok...can we get past that? It’s been beaten like a rental mule throughout this thread. Haha
  9. Skins did it last year to go up and get Sweat. Giants came up to get a corner. And the Falcons moved back into the bottom to get Kaleb McGary. Teams do it all the time when they feel they need to make a move for a guy that starts falling...
  10. By the way...I found it...Baltimore was at 52 in 2018 and traded that pick, 125 and the following year’s 2nd to get pick 32 and Lamar Jackson. Would that make everyone feel better? They also took Hayden Hurst at 25, so the draft slot positioning is eerily similar...
  11. Exactly. In my scenario, all we would be doing is using next year’s first rounder a year early. You’re right. It would essentially wash out. That said, it’s all hypothetical and was meant to create a discussion, but it obviously got a little too heated. We have to see what plays out.
  12. He played in a system that is conducive for big numbers for a qb. By this logic, guys like Graham Harrell should have been stars...
  13. It’s also what got Mahomes drafted so high. Lots of pundits were mocking the Chiefs over that pick. Of course in hindsight they got it right, but... Haha. Lots of people think he’s bad. His every move is scrutinized and many in the media look for anything to support their pre-draft analysis.
  14. I really don’t think Allen is nearly as bad as some people think...
  15. My biggest argument in this is do you really believe the Steelers are missing their first rounder this year? They got Minkah Fitzpatrick which has seemed to set their defense up for years to come. My point is if Beane identifies a guy that is falling and he thinks he’s a difference maker I couldn’t be shocked at all to see him make a move. Would it be a package of this years picks? Maybe. Next year’s? Who knows. I just don’t think he’s afraid at all believing in his board and going with his gut.
  16. Fair enough...
  17. Never did I say we needed to do anything to that extreme...
  18. Good post...
  19. This was exactly what I was trying to get at.
  20. Not all playmakers are created equal. What if Beane targets only a couple in this draft that fits what he wants? If that’s the case you make a move to get him. No I’m not...I am just supporting my opinion. I knew it wouldn’t be popular. Besides...there are many “that guys” on this board. In the end we are all fans or are supposed to be. I gave an opinion and others disagreed. It’s fine...move on...
  21. I created a thread and the guys that didn’t agree hanged up on me...but I’m “that guy”? Ok...
  22. Sorry...you’re a choir boy...my bad...
  23. Haha...you’re going there, huh? You have been posting condescending remarks since the first one that I responded to. Pot meet kettle...;)
