  1. Maybe so, but we needed a qb. We don’t need to draft another DT, thus my response. We also don’t need another slow defensive end.
  2. A defensive tackle or an edge that doesn’t have elite twitch and speed. We already drafted on of those last year...
  3. Travis Etienne or Kadarius Toney. Either one would put this offense over the top. Each of them bring speed and elusiveness to their respective position groups. Those are my guys.
  4. Boom. Well said. I hated going through draft after draft watching other teams take a shot at their guy and we sat there and took a corner or another defensive player almost year after year. Then we parlayed that into “fixing” the most important position in sports with some type of journeyman late rounder. It was nauseating.
  5. We FINALLY get a real qb after 20-some years since Kelly and we would want to trade him away? Ok...
  6. So why don’t you say that Travis Etienne in round one is possible? You say running back but you are basically discrediting Harris. Well I hate to tell you...I think Harris is very much in play.
  7. “Next year” isn’t going to help this year. We can win it all this year. Can’t mess with the window of opportunity.
  8. We hit a home run with Diggs. You can’t expect it to work that well every time. Draft a guy...
  9. These are my exact thoughts. I think Beane and McD will be doing a lot of homework to separate the me guys from the ones with logical concerns or reasoning.
  10. It’s just something to think about I guess. I just feel Beane and McD look at character and glove of the game more than others. I’m not saying they want choir boys, but I’m sure they will be looking into why each of these guys opted out.
  11. For clarity purposes, I just want to say that I’m talking about players in the draft.
  12. I had this discussion with another member of this board recently and we both feel that there is a possibility that Beane and McD might not view opt out players the same way as prospects as they might guys that chose to chose to play in 2020. The reason being is that they always talk about targeting guys that are great teammates and love football. Now, before I get blasted for this, we both agreed that there may be context to this. Some guys may have had health concerns related to COVID, and there may have been other personal reasons that I’m sure Beane and McD would understand. My argument is against those guys that were perfectly healthy and were prima donas that just chose not to play. To me, that’s likely to be considered a red flag to the powers that be. I fully believe they will do their research and if they do take an opt out player, that they are very confident they did it for the right reasons. They might see it as quitting on their team in some cases and might look at it as a character flag. I’m sure some of you that are pounding the table for a guy that opted out will hate this idea, but I feel we all have a really good idea of how the coach and gm think at this stage. We will see...
  13. No way. We are in win now mode and can use a talented player in the first round to get us over the top THIS year. Having two firsts next year isn’t going to help us this year when we might be a player away from winning it all.
  14. What if it’s the fourth or fifth option and they don’t fit our scheme? What if it’s an Epenesa clone and isn’t a fast twitch athlete? There is so much more that goes into a pick than if he’s just a specific position. Pass rush is definitely something they will look at, but don’t kid yourself and think Beane isn’t looking at every option to upgrade TE this off-season. He’s seen how elite TEs can carve up his team and it’s pretty clear he wants one of his own.
  15. Maybe so, but Beane has been very involved in looking to upgrade this off-season. He’s the one calling the shots.
  16. It’s kind of clear at this point that Beane wants to upgrade TE. I highly doubt Hollister is the upgrade that he envisions. He made a run at guys like Gronk, Jonnu Smith, and Zach Ertz, among others. Ertz might still happen, but if it doesn’t, I could see him maybe targeting Pat Freiermuth in the draft. Freiermuth’s nickname is “Baby Gronk” and while that might be too high of praise, it speaks of his skill set. He is very athletic and attacks the seam. Elite size for the position. I would like to see a trade down into the top of the second to take Freiermuth, and pick up another top 75 pick to use to go after an edge, corner, or lineman. With the way Beane has been aggressive this off-season to upgrade TE, I just can’t see him staying with what he has. Penn State’s pro day is this week. We will see...
  17. I had mine repurposed to a Diggs jersey...
  18. Well I hope someone gives him directions out of town...
  19. Try telling this to guys like the Bosa’s and Chase Young. I guess my point is that unless you have an elite pass rusher, then I somewhat agree with you. I’m not excited at all about taking an edge at 30 anymore, because we would be looking at the fourth or fifth edge off the board at that point. It’s already a fairly weak draft at that position. We could get a better player at that spot than going for a second rate edge prospect.
  20. Draft Kadarius Toney...
  21. Sign me up.
  22. This was exactly what I thought about this move. I really thought they needed to shake things up a little. By bringing back the same line it means we are unlikely to improve as a run team. This is a pass first offense, but it bites us in big games because no one respects our run game. I’m feeling very meh about this signing. I was really getting hyped about the possibility of a first round lineman to replace Feliciano. Oh well...
  23. That’s fine but Beane doesn’t trade back. If anything, he’ll identify a guy he loves and move up to get him. At the very least I feel we will stay at 30 and take someone there. Don’t see this happening at 30. You might get a decent DE at 30, but all the “game changers” will most likely be gone by then.
  24. I could get used to Humphrey as our pick at 30...
