  1. Oh I totally agree. 100%. I wanted ettienne in the worst way. Thought he would complete this offense. Give us a dynamic playmaker in the run game as well as the passing game. Well he was picked before us, but I still think they targeted Rousseau. In the second round, there is no excuse for dipping into DE again. They seemed to consider moving up a few spots to get Basham. He was their guy. We could have have had Creed Humphery. Imagine how that would change our offensive line. Just from one pick.
  2. They were set on a defensive end no matter what. This is a moot point.
  3. Well…the backs deserve plenty of blame. They just aren’t that good. Any holes that are there get closed off quickly cause they don’t have the speed to get there. They are a liability and Beane deserves a lot of criticism for not trying to find a playmaker there. Yes he signed breida, but he is only on a one year deal and he has obvious issues.
  4. Yes. We are at the point where we need to draft for need. Look at last year. They were being very transparent about “fixing” the pass rush and they took one in 1 and 1 in two. This year they need to do that with offense. It’s clear that we need interior offensive line. Fix it. And we also need a speedy weapon if we don’t bring back Breida.
  5. Totally agree. It’s so easy to see that Beane made a mistake this off-season by basically running back last years line and thinking we’d be fine. Yes, he drafted Brown who appears to be a stud. Great find. But beyond that, he added an aging Emmanuel sanders to a 1 year deal and our only speedy weapon in Matt Breida is also on a 1 year deal. We need playmakers and guys that can protect our qb. We have invested so many recent high picks in defense and now it’s time to do that with some nasty dudes for the line. We will also need to replace Beasley soon so a speedy slot guy has to be considered.
  6. I don’t agree with any of this. Hyde and Poyer are the best safety tandem in football and they are showing no signs of slowing down. If there is one thing (and there is more than one) that McD is good at, it’s developing corners. He’s taken an undrafted free agent and a 7th rounder and made them more than serviceable. In Carolina, he made Josh Norman a star and never had a high draft pick at either corner spot.
  7. Totally disagree. One injury on defense doesn’t change the fact that interior offensive line still isn’t the biggest need. Heck, with Breida on a one year deal, I would argue that offensive playmaker might be a bigger need as well.
  8. If you are going to mention Moss, then you absolutely have to throw Singletary’s name in there too.
  9. Exactly. Man, Creed Humphrey would look nice in a Bills uniform right now.
  10. Well the loss of Brown caused us to shuffle the entire right side of the offensive line. This wasn’t just about losses on defense.
  11. Come on man…we put a lot of stats up against crap teams. It doesn’t take a genius to see that.
  12. Pressure? Cool…what about finishing the play and getting the qb down?
  13. OP…don’t even get me started on this. People don’t wanna hear it, even if it’s true.
  14. Yes it’s a big deal. Absolutely. However, this thread wouldn’t exist if it was a possibility for this team at this point. It seems OP is trying to feel better about things. Haha
  15. This thread was not very well thought out. At one point today, our leading rusher was our qb and our leading receiver was the awful Devin Singletary. That can’t happen.
  16. Let me start by saying I wouldnt trade Diggs for any receiver. I love that guy and he is elite. However, we have an aging Cole Beasley, 57 year old Emmanuel Sanders, and Gabe Davis who hasn’t taken the next step. None of those guys are gonna run away from a defense. They are only good if they are schemed wide open. I am pleased with Dawson Knox. He’s an athletic tight end that looks to be on his way to being elite. Very happy there. Our running game is a complete disaster. It’s so bad. I couldn’t care less what the “stats” say and what our ranking is in run offense. The point is, we aren’t scaring anyone at all with our running backs. In fact, our run offense is mainly boosted by our quarterback, which is a problem in itself. We lack a speedy weapon and that missing piece is showing up more and more each week as defenses keep figuring us out. Our lack of spending premium draft capital on the offense is starting to catch up with us. I do not disagree with taking Rousseau last year, but I strongly disliked the Basham pick, mainly because we seemed complacent in spending draft capital on the offense. We literally have no one other than maybe Stephenson in the cupboard to step up after Beasley and sanders are gone. I know draft position doesn’t always equate to on field success. Diggs is a fifth rounder and is elite. I get that. But look at our defense. How many first round picks are on that unit? After Allen, the highest bills pick on offense is Cody Ford and he’s a bust. After him, it is a string of third rounders. My point is this…we need to value offense in the draft more than waiting to get leftovers while more and more premium capital is poured into defense. We don’t have any speed on this team and our line is a complete mess. Darryl Williams had plays today where he completely whiffed on his guy. We had over 100 yards in penalties. It’s a disaster. Please Beane…start prioritizing offense. We are resting on our laurels from last year and seemingly expected the same results this year without adding the one thing we need most…speed.
  17. You really can’t be serious.
  18. I’ll say this…if you hit on a qb then everything else should be gravy. You just can’t win consistently in this league without the qb. That said, Beane has done a solid job drafting. I am starting to question the Oliver pick at 9, but then again lots of people were calling him the best defensive player in the draft. So who could blame him? Sometimes when a guy you don’t think will be there you make quick decisions. Either way, I’m happy with Beane. Look forward to many more years with him as GM…
  19. So you are already talking about next year? I’m not there yet at all. This team has everything to win it all THIS year…
  20. The defense lost this game.
  21. Can someone please explain why we can’t get any pressure on the qb? And where the heck was Oliver? Can we be done with him please?
  22. I like ranch and I won’t apology to anybody for that…
  23. Let me start off by saying I absolutely love Greg Rousseau. I’m so excited about his potential as he is still learning the position. His length is elite and he was such a classic “bet on traits” pick by Beane. My question is, where do you all think he would have gone in the draft had he not opted out due to covid? This is a guy that had 15.5 sacks in his first season playing defense and then decided to opt out his last season. I think top 10 is likely and top 5 isn’t out of the question. Either way, we got a steal at a position of need.
  24. Give me a speedy offensive weapon with our first pick. Someone like Rondale Moore, Kadarius Toney, or Tyreek Hill.
  25. How can anyone apologize for being critical of a tight end that couldn’t catch consistently? It was completely warranted. That said…he’s playing very well and I’m happy to see it.
