2022 RB Draft class looks pretty good

Yeah. Everyone was worried with his heavy workload at Wisconsin. How’s that working out? -

Here’s the thing…so what if he’s related to CJ? Is there anyone here right now that wouldn’t take CJ Spiller in the backfield right now? -
I’m fine with Dorsey as next OC. He’s young and can bring some of the concepts that made his Miami teams so good. He played qb and I think that’s a big thing especially with a young qb. Gotta stay with continuity.

Is this finally the year we make a big push for offense?
whorlnut replied to whorlnut's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah exactly. Technically, he did use a first on Diggs. He used a 2nd on Ford. A couple thirds on offensive players. What happened when we took Allen 7 overall? It was followed up by moving up for a defensive player that may not make it through his rookie deal, and two more defensive players after that. Forget about adding weapons for your new qb. For me, last year was the straw that broke my back and made me really question if Mcbeane really cares about building an Uber talented roster on offense. Taking Basham was unacceptable after using a second the year before on a guy that barely played and using a first on Rousseau. I have no regrets on Rousseau but Basham stings. -

Wow. I don’t even know where to start with this. Top offenses? I guess you still think this is 2020, but all you have to do is watch games and see we have basically a one man offense right now. Our line is hot garbage. Our TE can’t catch the ball consistently. Our WRs and RBs are slow, outside of Breida. Heck, it even took half the season for them to let him play. It’s a mess. It’s time to admit that Beane and McD screwed the pooch with this offense. I’m sure additions will be made this off-season, but please let it be top picks and not a patch job like years past. -

I agree and disagree. I agree that we need to focus on the offense. I disagree with your replaceable list. I honestly think the only players that can’t be upgraded are Allen, Diggs, and Brown. Everyone else can be replaced. -

This is a myth imo. They are slow and have horrendous vision. We need upgrades. -

Well…I agree to an extent. I will believe it when I see it in regards to them using high picks on offense. Yes they took Allen. Yes they used a first on Diggs. But historically, they try to patch together the offense while using premium picks on the defense. -

I was just gonna say something about this. Imo, he would be the only one I wouldn’t throw a fit about. He’s built to be a huge difference maker in the run game. -

Not bad…but what about RB? You can get a run stuffer in the mid rounds. Time to take too WRs instead of hoping a mid rounder will pan out. -

We went nearly 20 years without making a splash at qb after Kelly. We tried to catch lightning in a bottle with late rounders and free agents. I don’t but that we will take corner early just because Tre went down. He’ll be back and Wallace and/or Jackson are decent 2’s. -

These are good points. It’s not beanes fault Dawkins, Williams, and Feliciano have struggled this year after looking good last year. It’s unfortunate. Luckily, we got brown so that takes some of the sting off. But he has work to do in fixing the line this off-season. -

I just can’t see them getting another DE in the early rounds this year. For heavens sake they took three of them with their top 3 picks in the last two drafts. Good luck trying to justify another. Totally agree on DT. I could see one being taken somewhat early if we can’t get one in FA. This regime needs to not “patch” together another offense this off-season. The fans are tired of seeing that. The fans and especially Allen deserve top resources put into that side of the ball. Imagine what our qb could do with a good offensive line, a run game, and a speedy WR. Scherff would be a great get IMO. He’ll only be 30 and will likely wanna play on a winner. Plus he has to understand the need at the position. To me, he would be fit meets need. -

Let’s face it…McDs love affair with using high picks on defense has finally caught up with this offense. Here is what I wanna see: 1. Sign a nasty vet guard in FA 2. Use first round pick on a WR 3. Use second rounder on a speedy RB 4. Use a third rounder on another nasty guard Is this finally the year McD sees the light and understands we have a dawg at qb and we need to give him the weapons to get the most out of his abilities? -
All over the place? I’ll give you Diggs, but sanders is old and hurt and hasn’t had a 1000 yard season since 2016. Who else? I’ll wait…
-
Stacked at WR? Ummm…no. We have Diggs and then a bunch of replaceable guys after that. Go get a blue chipper.

Where would this team be without him?

Beane needs to spend serious resources on the OL
whorlnut replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can’t disagree here with this theory. However, we also need some playmakers on offense. Just fixing the oline will not make our running backs faster or make Beasley or sanders any younger. This needs to be a mostly offensive heavy draft for us to get to the level where we need to be for the foreseeable future. We have too many guys on short deals. We need some longer rookie deals to right this ship. -
I’m starting to get really concerned about the coaching as well. I love McD and what he’s about but I really feel he might be a liability. Daboll is as good as gone. Not sure about Frazier. I just know we don’t have any nastiness on either side. Brown is prob our nastiest but he’s a ways off from being great. Allen is nasty but he can only do so much.

I honestly think we have fed into this narrative and it simply might not be true. Are we the most talented team? I don’t think we are. We are soft and beat ourselves. Outside of Allen, Diggs, and maybe Spencer Brown…who do we have on offense that other teams need to be really concerned about? As for the defense…our only dawg is out for the year and the rest is comprised of guys that aren’t nasty. You could argue that Poyer and Hyde might fit into that, but no one else fits that mold. We have assembled a team of nice guys that are starting to fall apart and unravel. It’s very concerning.
