  1. Wow…not sure what happened there. Haha
  2. One thing we all have to be aware of…it seems everywhere Fitz has gone as a backup, the starter always seems to get hurt. I LOVE Fitz, but he always seems to find himself starting games no matter where he goes. Be very careful if you want Fitz as a backup. Haha.
  3. I’ve thought about this. Allen and Darnold are best friends and it would be a good move for Darnold to come here and take a step back while backing up his buddy. If we could make the numbers work this would be my hope. Those guys aren’t available in FA. Those guys aren’t available in FA. Those guys aren’t available in FA. Those guys aren’t available in FA.
  4. I appreciate your opinion, but I just can’t behind the idea of a first round corner with this staff. Can’t be talked into it. Will it happen? It certainly can, but I won’t like it. We could have a serious upgrade in the second or third round. Even free agency. What we need is to protect Allen and give him the weapons needed to make us unstoppable.
  5. We absolutely do NOT need to draft a corner in round one. I’m fact, I think it would be really dumb. This staff has an uncanny ability to maximize a DB’s skill set and have made an undrafted FA and a seventh round pick viable players. We can get a solid corner in the third or fourth and I have all the confidence in the world it would be an upgrade with this coaching staff.
  6. That’s the problem. All the top assets that we continue to use on defense haven’t yielded the results when we need them the most. We have so many high picks on defense but not one dawg. They are all just very good, but no alpha outside of White. I want to see us get younger and faster on offense. I’m sick of watching Beasley get open and then fall down. I want a guy that does that and keeps running. I want a running back that can hit a hole and take it to the house. Is that too much to ask?
  7. First of all…it’s funny that you got the eye roll emoji from a guy that says he’s a 1959 bills fan. It’s like they don’t realize that defense isn’t what it was back in the “old days”. Second…I TOTALLY agree. Give me a free agency period where we fill needs on defense and get some proven talent to teach and mentor all the picks we’ve made on that side of the ball. I hate the idea of spending high picks on defense for the millionth year in a row. At some point, you have to trust your development program and surround the young guys with proven vets. Third…I also want an offense heavy draft. Beasley is on his last year (if they dont cut him), McKenzie might be gone, and Sanders is almost assuredly gone. We need a WR in the wings to take over that slot role and take the top off the defense. Diggs might get a raise. Davis might command big money in two years and price himself out if he keeps ascending. We need a top guy on the cheap since that is our greatest strength. We also could use a more dynamic running back. Singletary is on his last year and Beane might not wanna pay a running back that has no speed and hasnt shown up as much as he has. This doesn’t even account for the fact that Beane has said many times the most important thing is to protect Allen. We could easily go get more offensive line help. This, this, THIS!!!!
  8. So you need to replace an undrafted FA that has turned into a starter with a first round pick? I’m not buying it.
  9. I’ve said this many times…why on earth would we take a corner in round 1? McD and his staff is probably the best staff in the league at getting the most out of defensive backs. We can take an offensive weapon or lineman in 1 and still get an upgrade at CB in round 3 or 4. McD has nothing but success with undrafted guys and late round CB picks. Why reach for one in 1? Tre and Milano were pre-Beane.
  10. Then why not take another position? It seems to me we are drafting for need, which is something Beane has said he doesn’t want to do.
  11. Fine. Go sign one or make a trade. No more high picks on edge rushers. I have next to zero faith Beane can find an edge worthy of a high pick.
  12. I proposed that we spend FA dollars and sign vets on defense and use more picks on offense to balance it out.
  13. Find our Copper Kupp or Tyreke Hill…
  14. I really want a vet DE and a vet corner. So many people are talking about needing to draft a corner in the first and another DE high, but I wholeheartedly disagree. Look at the offense. We have a good offense that was mostly constructed with vets and a big trade. Now…look at the defense. Most of the personnel was drafted and lacks experience…especially the DE’s. I think we need to reverse this trend for at least a year and get more balance. We need some vet presence on defense and inject some youth into the offense at the same time. I would love to see us go get a vet corner and DE. This could be done through a trade or through FA signings. I would also love to see us have an offense heavy draft.
  15. Totally on board with Dotson at 25. Beasley is in the last year of his deal and he’s not a threat at all for YAC. Dotson works well in the slot and has speed for days. Great hands and isn’t afraid of contact. Sign me up… Why couldn’t we pay a vet corner in FA? It works both ways.
  16. I don’t totally agree with this. Is an improved oline gonna make Singletary faster?
  17. Love this. Allen endorsed him and the familiarity should provide a seamless transition from Daboll. Solid move.
  18. I’m not deflecting anything. Nothing whatsoever. Your original post was poorly written and hard to understand. You challenged my football knowledge because I didn’t share the same opinion as you. I then countered that we have given up assets for an offensive playmaker before, so the history is there. Diggs has worked out, but there was concern at first in how he would fit. There wasn’t a guarantee, but he has fit in perfectly. Barkley would have a chance to do the same thing if he came here. He might be one of the most physically gifted players to ever play running back. His combo of size, speed, and vision are RARE. The only concern is the injury history, but anyone can walk outside and sprain an ankle or tear an ACL. It doesn’t mean you are always gonna be hurt. Making more sense now?
  19. Hahah…the classic “please try to keep up” line…funny stuff.
  20. Heck with Mahomes. Who cares? He wouldn’t have said that I’d they lost.
  21. Yes I agree. However, I have zero hope in first round offensive talent with this staff. It’s almost like McD pitches a fit and begs for defense and only after that is he ok with going offense. I could be off, but I don’t think I’m far from being accurate.
  22. Exactly. Our offense isn’t as elite as it’s led to believe. Allen is an animal and is literally the entire offense. He makes throws no one else can and is our best running back. This staff needs to get a clue and takes some of the burden off him.
  23. Why the heck can’t people see this? But, but, but…we need to keep drafting defense to stop Mahomes!!!!
  24. This is the problem. We are expecting 6th rounders to hit. It’s not fair to call a 6th rounder a miss. They are usually cut or relegated to special teams when drafted by good teams. You basically laid out the exact reason why we need to target offense early. We need true talents that have a chance to contribute early and often and not bounce around on special teams and the practice squad. I’m just a little more than tired hearing about how the offense isn’t an issue when it’s beyond clear that Allen is doing everything on his own. He needs help. Period. Get him some weapons to go along with Diggs, knox, and potentially Davis. Let’s fill in the cracks on defense in the mid rounds and free agency for once. This is my fear as well. McD is a defensive guy and unless he takes ownership of the 13 second debacle, I’ll bet he will try to convince Beane he needs more playmakers on defense. Meanwhile, the offense will have to settle for projects and mid rounders that they hope will pan out.
  25. That’s fair…but let’s put aside the fact that we didn’t need mcgahee. The point I was making is that there have been several top prospects that fell in recent years due to injury. The teams that drafted them made out like bandits.
