Maybe you should tell Brandon Beane that. He seems to really like Dane Jackson.
-
I completely disagree with your assessment of this year’s d. We were the number one ranked d last year that added Von miller and some run stuffing defensive linemen. I think it’s completely irresponsible to think we are gonna take a dip to below average based on a cornerback.
-
I really like guys like martin Emerson, cam Taylor-Britt, and the McCollum kid from Sam Houston state. Those are the types of guys that can be had in the third and can be developed into studs with the elite traits that they possess
-
You are wrong and he is right is an opinion…unless you have a history book from the future that you would like to share with the rest of us…
-
First round should always be BPA. Drafting for a need is how teams miss out on elite prospects. Especially at the end of the first. This. I mean there is no reason to smokescreen this. They have a history of doing it this way at corner. They feel confident in Tre’s recovery and progress. They also said that today.
-
There are rounds besides the first. That’s pretty much the gist. Don’t force a pick for need. Also…if you even bother reading the article, it says that McD rarely forces rookies into starting. If that’s true, then the rookie corner will likely not start for at least a couple weeks anyways. The Tre argument is kinda shot to heck by that. So basically, it’ll be a vet and Dane to start the season no matter what.
-
Typical Bills fan fashion…can’t even comprehend the possibility of this team taking an offensive player in the first round. McD has always had one elite cover guy and then a JAG on the other side. Tre filled the elite role.

Lots of opinions in this post…

You think the chiefs care about defense? Haha. They just keep loading up on offensive weapons and overwhelm opposing defenses. I’m more convinced that I’m today’s nfl, that is the way to go.
-
And they are trying to do the same with Dane Jackson.
-
That’s my point though…get weapons that help Allen instead of putting it all on him. Make his life as easy as possible. Keep stacking long term weapons on offense. We saw too many times last year that he literally won the game on his own. He was the leading rusher way too often. That isn’t sustainable. Totally agree. The defense is good enough. We can get by with a Jag at CB2…which is exactly what every McD led defense has done back to his days in Carolina. And he is the best in the league at getting the most out of DBs.
-
For those that have The Athletic, go read Joe B’s most recent article. He argues why corner at 25 isnt the slam dunk many are making it out to be. It’s a good read.
-
Huh? They literally just had a deal with McKissic that fell through cause Washington pulled a slick one on us.
-
You have no idea of knowing this. Guys like Taylor-Britt and McCollum could end up better than your “elite talent”.
-
But you said it’s deep in high end corner talent….you literally said that. This is pointless…I’m not arguing with someone that doesn’t even know what they said. Have fun… But…they can get ANY RB in ANY round and it won’t make a difference. Haha…good grief…
-
You like contradicting yourself don’t you? In one of your recent posts you literally boast about how deep this draft is at high end corner talent and then you say this…haha. Wow…
-
We can agree to disagree on this. By this logic, it’s quite possible that the running backs that Beane is interested in are gone at 57 too. Meanwhile, a guy like Cam Taylor-Britt, Martin Emerson, Coby Bryant, or Alontae Taylor might still be there. Again…there is also a chance to get a good corner later on as well.
-
You mention 2 guys on deals that expire at season’s end. This has been part of my argument. They have very few “weapons” that are locked up after this season. All the longer contracts are on the defensive side except for a select few…
-
So you are just assuming that any corner will be rated higher than an RB. I disagree. I think the bills are very much in the market for offensive weapons and arent as urgent into getting a “top” corner as most of you are hoping. Beane has pretty much said that. However, you have to be living in a cave if you can’t see all the activity around WR, TE, and RB visits this off-season. So you would admit then that you can also get a corner later in the draft?
-
You’ll trust Beane, but you aren’t on board with a WR? I’m no way shape or form with they NOT go RB at some point. I think it will be sooner than most expect. I think that’s been brewing for a year now with the rumors about ettienne last year, the pre draft visits, the attempt at signing McKissic, and mcd’s recent quotes. The same people that think it’s a reach to take a RB are fine with taking the possible fifth or sixth CB off the board at 25. Talk about reaching…
-
Clearly? Ok…

Why do some have Andrew Booth slipping out of the first round when so many on here want to trade up a little to make sure we get him? Different analysts have different rankings…
-
It’s interesting you bring up Taylor. Hall has been compared to him on more than one occasion. His production in college, his usage, and his amazing combine reeks Jonathan Taylor. One of the same knocks on Taylor is also a knock on Hall…many fear the wear and tear in college will catch up with him. How has that worked for Taylor? Or Tariq Woolen or Cam Taylor-Britt. The point is…we do not “need” to take a corner in round 1 to get an immediate upgrade. I think most people are so used to defense in round 1 no matter what that they can’t even wrap their minds around possibly picking an offensive player.
-
I totally agree. This seems to have been brewing since last year with all the rumors. A dynamic RB would put this offense over the top. Hall has it all…he’s fast, big, durable, and has good hands in the passing game. Najee Harris was selected last year with the 24th pick. We are in a way better situation this year than the Steelers were last year. We have our long term qb and our oline is set this year. They had uncertainty at qb and with their oline and took Harris anyways. He worked out. No reason to think hall wouldn’t have a similar effect for this offense.
-
100% agree. Hall will be long gone by the time 57 rolls around and it might cost a lot to trade up to get him in 2. If they want him I think they should take him at 25 or trade just outside the first and hope to land him there. How many weapons on one year deals do you want? Good grief…
