Yeah I’m really sick of the running backs only carry the ball narrative. It’s lazy. Completely lazy. Hall would be heavily used in the passing game. I’m just over arguing with people about it.
-
It’s funny to me that people are so dead set against a running back in 1. Beane has said many times since the season ended that his two goals are getting to the qb (checkmark in FA) and helping josh Allen. A rb does that. CB2has never been a premium position under McD dating back to Carolina.

** Pre-Draft Visit ** CB Kaiir Elam - Florida
whorlnut replied to intimidatortj's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is getting a little overboard imo…I can’t see McD drafting a DB that isn’t a wiling tackler. Just can’t see it. I know Elam is the hot name of the day, but come on… -
The difference is we have our qb. We can afford the luxury pick.
-
Once again…I mean I can’t spell it out any more clearly…Hall is the best pass catching running back in the draft. He can affect the offense in more ways than just running the ball. Good grief.
-
You realize that hall is the best pass catching back in the draft right? Running backs do more than just run the ball.
-
Elam apparently isn’t a willing tackler. McD will also not go for that. McDuffie has short arms…we historically do not draft short armed corners. Dax Hill apparently has some serious character concerns. The only corner I could see them targeting would be Gordon, and I don’t think they necessarily value CB2 as much as some fans. To me, the Hall rumors are legit. We’ve been trying to upgrade there for a while now. The rumors about Ettienne last year were confirmed by Chris Brown. The attempt at signing McKissic. Now they are heavily linked to the best RB in this years class. One that catches the ball very well. I like the idea and I hope it happens. To me, it moves the needle way more than CB2…a position they apparently don’t see as a premium one.
-
You literally claimed it was the “best”. Now you are backtracking. Be careful how you word your posts.
-
Top offense? I wasn’t aware of that. Please share that confirmation. Maybe you mean top “defense”. I can show you actual rankings to support that claim.
-
40 times?!! Haha…wow, just stop.
-
This is just wrong in so many ways. Hall is the best receiving back in the draft and can help in more ways than running the ball. He would take carries away from Allen and that would benefit his longevity. And you need a reliable back the last few drives to chew clock. Allen can still be the dynamic passer he is with an elite running back.
-
I’m not so sure about that…
-
A first round corner.
-
You do realize Hall is a good weapon in the receiving game too right? It’s obvious they want a RB that can catch as was evidenced by their attempt to get McKissic. Hall is the best pass catching RB in the draft.
-
Here what you don’t understand…I’m sure the bills didn’t think Jax would be into ettienne last year. They also couldn’t have predicted McKissic would back out of his deal either. If the Bills want Hall, they will prob just take him at 25 whether you or anyone else agrees or not.
-
Would you still like JA if he was on another team?
whorlnut replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Probably not…he’s so good that other fan bases hate him out of pure jealousy he isn’t their guy. Although…he is a totally likable and relatable dude. -
I grew up a huge Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas fans. Those guys were such a part of my childhood and the reasons I became a Bills fan. I never thought anyone would challenge them for my all-time favorite Bill…until this guy. He’s quickly becoming my favorite player. Just love the way he’s embraced the city and leads. Let’s be honest…when Jimbo was here he wasn’t exactly the lead by example type. Not until he was done playing. Allen is built differently and I’m so glad he’s our QB.
-
“No” running back is worth a first round? Thanks for you OPINION. Breece Hall has home run ability. We don’t have a back right now with that capability. One 60 yard run really ups his yards per carry.
-
I get the feeling that the bills will try to talk themselves into hall. I think they have been trying for a while now to get a more dynamic RB and I don’t think that will change until they get one.
-
Awesome job here. The cornerback fanboys don’t want to admit that it’s not the slam dunk they make it out to be. This team is another piece or two from making this offense nearly unstoppable. Why the he k wouldn’t they consider that? It’s like most fans are completely ignorant to the fact that we don’t have take defense first every year.
-
I think the o-line is set for this year. They might take a guy they can groom this year, but maybe in 2 or 3. I think if they can trade down and get a guy like Hall, this offense would go to a whole new level. I know a lot of you want to believe that this offense is set, but there are ways we can make it better. To me, it starts at running back.
-
I’m gonna say no…I still think Jahan Dotson has an outside chance and I am buying into the running back idea. Too much smoke to ignore it. They have been tied to ettienne, they tried signing McKissic, and Beane has said many times it’s about protecting Allen. What better way to protect our best player than getting him a reliable guy to take carries off of him? I think they will find a way to make breece hall or walker a bill and I think it will be a trade down.

I guess you missed Joe Bs article yesterday how McD doesn’t force rookies into starting right away. Here is what he said: “It’s rare for McDermott to put his faith in a rookie during a 17-game season. He firmly believes that the rookie wall is real and actively manages time off the field throughout the season to help prevent a steep drop-off. The idea that a cornerback selected at No. 25, or any position for that matter, is going to walk in and be the coast-to-coast starter in 2022 lacks the supporting evidence of McDermott’s history with first-year players. The Bills have shown an excellent ability to develop their players, and deviating from that philosophy does not seem likely.”

you don’t believe him, or you don’t want to believe him? Fine…corner in round 3…happy?
