It’s definitely a need after this season unless they are planning on extending Davis after next year. At this point, I think it makes more sense to draft someone this year and develop them and have them compete with Davis next year.
-
This is a message board right? I know more about football than you, but I’m not gonna get into that. I know enough to know Davis catches the ball with bad technique, was handed the job with no competition, and all of a sudden doesn’t have sideline awareness. It’s ok to criticize our player, but if you want to pretend there aren’t issues, then whatever I guess.

Hahahaha…I’m sorry. Gabe is good cause he’s a bill. My bad!!!
-
Bad…gabe Davis.

WR in 1 and OL in 2.

Diggs throwing his helmet and asking for the ball more

Worst thread in quite some time…and that’s saying something… -
Beane has always preached he doesn’t draft for need but last year and the year before sure felt that way…
-
Totally agree. Just because we needed a corner didn’t meant it had to be in round 1.
-
True, but if Beane can jump up a few spots to get a corner that doesn’t fit our scheme, then I would hope he’d do the same for a WR for our franchise qb.
-
Exactly right. Beasley and Brown were brought on due to availability and need. The Davis hype has died down and McKenzie is just not good. I still think Davis can be ok but he’s not what we expected and he’s not signed past next year. We already have a lot invested in Allen, Diggs, and knox and I expect them to let him walk.
-
Well said. I agree about McD. I’m afraid that he will push for a safety or DL in the first. It’s just how it is with him. However…I think he might have his hands full convincing Beane this year. You can’t tell me that Beane isnt fully aware where our weaknesses are right now. I’m sure he’s pissed about the e line and WR depth. That’s on him and I’m sure he’s gonna be hellbent on fixing it. The issue with McKenzie is he’s a gadget guy and not a full time slot.
-
I know…he’s still my dream pick though. Haha. No way a guy with hands like that and elite speed lasts until we pick. Williams was long gone last year and he had an acl.
-
Ahh yes…classic retort. This is why I said “sometimes you catch lightning in a bottle”. Read the whole thing. Diggs was one of the ones that has worked out but he wasn’t developed here, so it doesn’t matter as much. The bottom line is that the elite talents are largely found at the top of the draft. There are anomalies, but for the most part this is how it is.
-
My dream pick in 1 would be Jalin Hyatt from Tennessee. Go watch a highlight video of him and tell me he wouldn’t go well with Diggs on the outside.
-
Well…McD is gonna have to ask himself…”do I want to win or do I want the best defense ever”? His defense is really good to great. It’s the offense that needs work now. People will argue our offensive ranking, but imo it’s very misleading. This team has holes on offense and Allen is used to covering them up. We need to build around him. I really like Shakir a lot, but we really need to stop getting so excited about 4th and 5th round receiver picks. For the most part, there are reasons they were passed over so many times. Sure…you will catch lightning in a bottle sometimes, but these guys drop due to a lack of something. Some overcome it, but others do not. We need to start drafting studs in the early part of the draft.

OP…see how much fun it is to use emojis? I’m glad you finally joined in the game.
-
Yep…I will roll my eyes. It’s an emoji that can be used for “suggestions” like these. Carry on…
-
This is a terrible response to criticism by a guy that shouldn’t even be a starter. Imo he’s being exposed and can’t handle the pressure.
-
I agree. Gabe has done well for himself.
-
Imo Davis has one year with this team. I can’t see Beane paying another big WR contract. Beane is going to have to draft a WR this year and I hope it’s with a high pick on someone with elite traits.
-
I completely agree. The Steelers constantly roll out really good receivers and they rinse and repeat without paying them. I want the bills to take a shot on an elite traits guy if they are there in round 1. Enough of the mid to late rounders.
-
They do “seem to”. Listen…Justin Jefferson is amazing, but Diggs is perfect for this team. Not one ounce of “what if” in mind when it comes to Jefferson.
-
No…they drafted Bernard in the third last year. He’s the fallback.
