  1. Yeah I definitely see value in bringing Davis back. I think their hand is somewhat forced after largely ignoring the WR position for a few years. If they had a viable option behind Davis I’d say get something for him, because I don’t think they will pay both him and Diggs. I just really hope they go all out in fortifying the WR room this off-season.
  2. This is kind of where I’m at with Oliver. He had really good games against the Lions and Bears. The Lions were without both starting guards and the Bears oline is just horrific. I’m happy about the performances, but it hardly inspires a ton of sustained confidence
  3. I think they would like to keep Oliver, but if we pay edmunds, we are starting to really deep dive into some big extensions on both sides of the ball. We can’t pay everyone. Someone is going to get left out. My guess is Oliver and Davis aren’t in the long-term plans. Take Cinci…DJ Reader is totally disruptive and he was taken in the fifth round. I think you can find someone like that to replace Oliver later on. Heck…I think DaQuan Jones was a 4th rounder. As for Davis…I’m fine with trading him, but I can also see value in keeping him. I don’t think a first round rookie WR would be completely ready to be handed the job, and competing with Davis for a year could make for a great situation for us.
  4. Yeah…and knowing Beane, he’d flip that pick into another DT selection. He just can’t help himself. Hopefully, if that’s the case, it’s after we spend a first on an offensive weapon for our franchise qb.
  5. Bernard ticked me off…bad. So did Basham. I’ll give you Humphrey though. Maybe they didn’t think he could pay G. Don’t know. But…we also could have had Dylan Parham instead of Bernard. Same thing…he went a pick later. Joe Marino was pumping him all pre-draft as a guy who had elite athleticism who could come in and play guard for a few years and be your rotational C. The Bernard pick just doesn’t make any sense.
  6. I disagree. If anything, the Bills bet on traits just as much as any team. Allen is a massive, strong qb. Edmunds is an alien at middle LB. Bass has one of the biggest legs in the league. Rousseau…which you mentioned, is a monster. Spencer Brown and Tommy Doyle are massive prospects. Heck, even Tre has a crazy wingspan. I’ll give you Oliver and Bernard. Still think Oliver has been good, but my goodness was Bernard a horrible pick to this point. We needed oline depth and we took an undersized LB that nobody heard of. Terrible pick. Well I hate to tell you, but Edmunds is 100% an impact guy. Not even debatable. Did you notice how open the middle was in his absence this year? Quit playing to the board narrative and be more open to the truth.
  7. We can agree to disagree because I see it differently.
  8. Well I disagree. In my opinion it’s Morse, but for you to say “it’s not even close” is completely wrong. If it really isn’t Morse then it’s a toss up.
  9. Where did I say anything about anti-Beane? Nowhere. You made that up. My point is that he’s pumped a ton of resources into the defensive line and has mostly patched together an oline. Protecting Allen is the top priority. I’d hardly call that “insane”.
  10. Humphrey is a pro bowl center. You really wanna say this? Who is the best and most important piece on our line? Morse. Humphrey could have been a very good guard for a few years and then stepped in and have been our pro bowl center instead of our biggest super bowl obstacle. I’d take that over Basham 100 times out of 100.
  11. Beane. He’s on record saying that he will always look at adding the defensive line. It’s a troubling stance cause I really don’t have a lot of faith they will look to add to the offense much this year.
  12. Hated the Basham pick then and hate it now. Beanes philosophy about “always adding to the defensive line” has come at a cost to other positions and it’s starting to catch up.
  13. Again…look at how slowly the bills bring their rookies along.
  14. If you can’t recognize WR as a need after this season then I think you just don’t want to see it.
  15. Maybe not, but that hasn’t stopped Beane from trying to do that with DEs.
  16. Did anyone think Justin Jefferson would be what he is today? If you say yes, then why did he last till 22? The point is…there should be someone there when we pick that can step in and compete with Davis next year and be the guy the following year. You talk about “immediate impact” as if it’s a thing with this team. How many times have we seen this staff bring rookies along painfully slow?
  17. There will be talented linemen and defensive players in later rounds too. Other than the Diggs trade, Beane hasn’t drafted a single WR before round 4. That’s not good enough on a team like this whose identity is throwing the ball.
  18. Yes…the fifth year only applies to first round picks, which is why you see teams trading back into the first to get a qb that slips. They want that extra year of player control. Davis’s deal is up after next year. He was signed on a 4 year rookie deal, with no fifth year option. This is one of the main reasons a first round WR makes a lot of sense for this year.
  19. Especially when you consider he might have a year where he might not get a ton of PT with Davis still around. That would leave 4 years at a reasonable team-friendly rate. By that time, Diggs will be in his 30’s and we could extend the new guy and roll right along.
  20. Good topic. I really think the Bills will let Davis play out his rookie deal and move on. We are already paying Diggs and knox and there isn’t a lot of money left. We need to fill out the roster with rookie deals. That said…I would love a receiver in 1 with the option of the fifth year. Let Davis and the rookie compete in camp next year and let them make each other better, cause let’s face it…Davis hasn’t been challenged, nor has he lived up to the expectations. As far as the prospects…I LOVE Quentin Johnston. He would be perfect for this offense. Allen would have a field day with him and Diggs. Elite size, good speed. Winner. Jordan Addison would be solid. He reminds me of Garrett Wilson. He could play slot or burn you deep. I think there is a good chance both those guys will be gone, so guys like Rashee Rice and Jalin Hyatt really intrigue me. I think Hyatt might be gone too as he’s compared to Jameson Williams and has world class speed along with the Bilitnikoff award. Rashee Rice seems to have really good hands that pluck the ball and has good power to shed tackles. I would be ok with any of these guys in 1, along with JSN from Ohio state, Josh downs, and Zay flowers. JSN just doesn’t have the production this year, which is concerning. The other two are smaller slot guys in the Jahan Dotson mold. Im pretty much in the first round WR camp, with OL in 2. I could handle vice versa, but i think it would be best to get an elite offensive weapon in 1 and add some beef to the line in 2. I just hope Beane and McD doesn’t look at it like we need to keep building the d line or draft a safety in 1. This team is far overdue to add some blue chip talent to the roster on offense.
  21. We definitely can’t ignore WR as a priority anymore. No more mid to late rounders that are inactive on game days or see no reps. Let’s get a first rounder and see where he takes us. Give Diggs an elite running mate that can drive defenses crazy. Davis is on the last year of his rookie deal next year and hasn’t shown enough consistency to warrant belief he’s the guy at WR2. Even if he did, how can we pay both him and Diggs? Something has to give. My guess is they try to find WR2 in the draft this year and let Davis and the rookie compete. Imo, this was a major oversight by Beane this past year when it seems Davis was handed the WR2 job without competition. This regime preaches competition but didn’t make Davis earn it in camp. Keep the cupboard full. This is our offensive identity. Obviously, oline is a HUGE need this off-season. It simply can’t be ignored anymore. No more patching it together and hoping Allen can bail them out. Time to put a brick wall in front of the franchise and see him become even better.
  22. The clear answer is definitely Bass. He looks to be our kicker for years to come. Davis might be gone after next year.
  23. Who cares? Let the games play themselves out. There is plenty of time to prove where we belong.
  24. I think we actually have a chance at being better next year. We will get von back and hopefully Beane adds some OL and WR that can faze out players like Saffold, brown, McKenzie, and plan for the departure of davis after next season.
