Gonna throw this out there and then duck lol. Pass rush.
whorlnut replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here is my argument for WR in 1. There likely will be someone there that is worth the value…if not, trade back to the top of 2 if another team wants to jump to get a player on the fifth year option. Where do a lot of the top WRs go? Either in the first or early second round. Guys like Tee Higgins, AJ Brown, Michael Thomas all went early 2. The point is…once our second round pick comes around, we might not have anyone to choose from. Early 2 seems to be the sweet spot for top offensive players that fell out of 1. I’d hate to wait till the 60-something pick to get the leftovers at such a key position for this team. -

I agree that there is more to a draft than the first round. However…waiting till the mid to late rounds to take a WR is what lands us players with limited skill sets such as Davis. -

Fine…use a 5th on defense. Happy? -
Bills WR Route Concepts in Our Offense
whorlnut replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think a lot has to do with personnel. Beasley was elite at working the middle of the field and getting open. It doesn’t seem Davis is good at running routes and McKenzie is limited. I believe Allen isn’t totally comfortable with anyone outside of Diggs and maybe knox. -
My thoughts exactly. McD is excellent at developing DBs. I don’t like the idea of taking on early. We did it last year, but please don’t do it again this year. Not with the holes/needs on the offensive side. Dalton Risner

Offseason rule changes: Will Damar's injury result in changes?
whorlnut replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Honestly, I’m not sure how you can change anything. It was a terrible, unfortunate, freak accident. Hoping Damar is ok…that’s the focus right now. -
Would you consider the Boogie Basham pick to be a disappointment?

I honestly think Beane has the final say. We will learn a lot this draft. -

I do. But I also think McD is in his ear a lot. -

Here we go again with the Mahomes pick. No one thought he would be what he is today. Besides…I think the plan all along was to maneuver to get their guy in 2018. -
Keep being you. You agree with me but argue just to argue. Pretty sad. Also…keep in mind that you started this thread on “looking like we will be drafting a WR” this year. Don’t be surprised when some people are a bit skeptical when we haven’t drafted a WR before round 4 since Beane got here. Unless you want to include the trade for Diggs, which is understandable. And I’ve been on record as saying I think Beane will do right by Allen this year, it’s just that past history shows that he values defense early and often. But I guess if you want to argue just to be difficult, I will wait for your next post.

You literally can’t help yourself in every post you make without throwing some sort of insult out there. That’s what makes you look like a huge d***. I’m done with you though. If pointing out Beane will probably draft a defensive player in the first round again upsets you then so be it. Even though I’ve said multiple times I trust that he will make it right this off-season. Whatever.
-
Butt hurt? Haha. Not even close. Just don’t appreciate your constant singling me out when I have something to say. Let’s see what Beane does this off-season and leave it at that.
-
My point is this…last year we had the the number one defense in the league and that didn’t stop him from using nearly every resource back into it. It’s paid off. I’m happy about that. Not sure why you see it otherwise. This year, we have the second ranked offense, but I think everyone can agree there are clear holes in that ranking. Allen’s unreal abilities mask a lot of the deficiencies and outweigh the negatives. I have a lot of hope that Beane does right by him and uses top picks and whatever money we have left to help out the offense this off-season. If he doesn’t, then I think any all criticism will be warranted.

It’s a message board. We are free to say what we want. Does Beane favor the defense early and often? I’ll wait. Dove have issues at WR and oline? This is something you regularly admit, but you see my name on a post and you can’t control yourself like the gif that you posted. It’s pretty funny.
-
I’ve said it time and time again that I love Beane but no one can deny he has a “thing” for defensive players in the first round. Maybe you should make snarky remarks to the tens of other posters in this thread that have bashed Beane instead of singling me out.

Hyatt compares more favorably to Jameson Williams due to size and speed.

Agree. My draft crush is Johnston even though there is no way he falls to us. Beane will probably take the third safety off the board anyways.

Would you consider the Boogie Basham pick to be a disappointment?
whorlnut replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hahahaha!!!! “No one cares about the kicker”. Are you the high school football player that thinks “he’s still got it” and was always led to believe kickers “aren’t football players”? Bass has been ST player of the week and month on several occasions and directly can affect the outcome of a game on one play. In this case, he’s won 3 games this season with his leg. Sorry if that upsets your ego. And since we are talking about players off the street, what about Kingsley Jonathan who showed more last week than “Boogie”? I’ll wait… -

I agree on these points but again you are belittling the value of Bass. He’s a huge part of this team even if he’s “just a kicker”. -

Are you really criticizing him for listing Bass? He’s a really good kicker and has won 3 games this year. Darn near automatic with extra points. Don’t subscribe to the narrative that kickers aren’t players, cause good ones can be game changers. Think before you post… -

Yeah it’s maddening watching Davis catch the ball. His hand placement is terrible. It wasn’t an issue before this year though. As for knox…I don’t think it was planned for him to be used like this. I think the short-comings of the oline have forced them to use him this way. Beane will make it right this off-season and knox will be used the way they envisioned next season. -

How is Creed over Rousseau relevant to anything? Davis isn’t awful. Not even close. Is he a little disappointing? Perhaps. But he’s not awful. I will say that I think many got a little greedy after the game he had against the chiefs last year, but that hasn’t been sustained this year. But he’s nowhere near awful like you say. Knox has been asked to block more this year to help mask a disappointing oline. That’s on Beane IMO. He definitively misjudged the line and I expect him to make it right this off-season and allow knox to be more of a playmaker like he was last year.
