  1. We had needs last year and traded up…again, my point.
  2. Figures you would nitpick whatever I said. Read the post. My point was anything should be on the table this draft and if he has to trade up for a receiver if he likes one, then do it. Posters are saying one might not be available when we pick, And I’m saying there is the option to trade up.
  3. Great point. Been saying this for a while. It seems that the run on WRs are usually in the top of the 2nd round every year. In fact, one could argue the best ones are taken there. I have no faith that the game changer that we need will be there at the end of 2. If they like a guy, they need to take him at 27 or trade down into the top of 2.
  4. What does this even mean?
  5. It will. Haha. I just think the o needs to be addressed first before we look at anything on the defense. I could live with d in the third round, but with how McD can coach DBs, I think it makes more sense to take one later. Last year, I wanted Tariq Woolen in round 2 and breece hall in round 1 for that reason. McD is great at coaching DBs and we could wait and still get a really good one. Now…Woolen is in the mix for defensive rookie of the year and hall was running away with OROY before he got hurt. My point is…just wait on safety and trust McD to do what he does better than anyone…coach up DBs. Remember…poyer was a corner before he came here and we converted him to safety.
  6. WR, OL, OL, S or OL, WR, OL, S. Either way, S needs to come last. Benford will step in and do well as poyer’s replacement and Hyde will be back. Too many years of high picks on d while the offense is put on hold are the reason we are in this mess to begin with.
  7. Agree. To me, bringing in those guys late was admitting they failed at WR. They bet on Davis and he didn’t step up. It was silly to not push him with competition in camp. That’s what they have preached since day one and they didn’t do it at WR this season. I can forgive them for McKenzie. Crowder was his competition and he went down early. But they need to add to the room and not with mid to late round picks.
  8. Joe Marino said it beat the other day. We have turned into a vertical passing offense mainly because Davis is so limited in his route tree. He has a hard time with intermediate routes and is basically a one trick pony that goes deep or not much else. WR2 is a glaring need because of these issues. Teams figured it out with him.
  9. Exactly!!! I said the same thing last year. They have mostly refused to address the offense in any way that would allow continuity or growth. Vets on one year deals are stop gaps and they need to start getting younger and with guys on rookie deals.
  10. Must have been thinking of someone else…sorry
  11. Probably not and I agree. Anything is possible though…no one thought CeeDee Lamb would fall outside of the top 20.
  12. If Beane can trade up 2 spots for a corner that McD says “they are still trying to figure out who he is” then they can trade up for WR. That position is so critical to the success of this team, being a WR centric passing offense. They have to do right by Allen and get him a playmaker. I think Johnston and Addison would both be worth trading up for if they slip.
  13. Jordan Addison, Quentin Johnston, Rashee Rice, Josh Downs, Zay Flower, Jalin Hyatt. I’d take any of them. Not sure many of these guys are top15 picks so we might be sitting in a sweet spot to have our choice of a few of them.
  14. Kiper is never right so I approve of this…
  15. Only way I’d be ok with a day 1 or 2 pick is if it’s a round 3 pick after they take offense in 1 and 2. Even then, I’d bet money that there would be an offensive player I’d rather have.
  16. First two days you mean?
  17. Why does it have to be a 3 or 4? Are they the magic rounds for you? You are acting as if w e don’t get a developmental safety in rounds 3 or 4, then why bother? It’s a silly stance. McD and his staff can develop DBs better than anyone and successfully converted poyer from a corner to a safety. We can get one on day 3 and develop him behind the starters.
  18. Hello…good to see ya again.
  19. Foolish? How noble of you Hyde was set to come back this week, but we didn’t make it that far. He will be fine. Benford was a hybrid DB in college…like Hyde. They have already discussed a move to safety. This fanbase has been trained to think we need to take defense early. We don’t. We can get a safety later on and let McD coach him up as a developmental piece. Heck, poyer and Hyde were both day 3 picks and they turned out pretty good, no?
  20. It’s funny that you think the offense is a free-for-all and McD has no input. It’s pretty bad if you really think this.
  21. Oh ok…how did that work out when Frazier’s d wasn’t performing well and McD took over play calling duties one game early in his tenure? The point is…the GM went and got Hines for a reason. If they wanted him more involved, I can almost guarantee McD has those conversations with Dorsey.
  22. You missed the point. If it was such a burning issue in meetings, then why didn’t McD step in and demand more of it? I too think Dorsey deserves some blame, however, McD is the HC and should be able to force it. Besides…if Dorsey was so much to blame and Incompetent, then why are they essentially endorsing him for a second season at OC?
  23. We could also go S on day 3. This is part of the problem with this staff. They like to take rotational players too early. If they nab Benford and Hyde as the starting safeties next year, then it would be beyond stupid to take a safety before day 3, if at all.
  24. I can’t believe we are talking about another DB with yet another top pick after we watched Allen running for his life and throwing to replacement players (beside Diggs) all season.
  25. Are we going to do this with every player that gets cut from here until TC?
