No WR = fail. The thought that some fans think we are set at WR continues to blow me away. The Bills have used twice as many top 30 visits on WRs as any other position and are going to Boston to meet with Zay Flowers, yet people still put out mocks like this?

Exactly. Misses like this are why we are having the conversation in the first place. It’s also why we are continuing to talk about improving the oline. The opportunity cost of reaching on bernard cost us another position.

What is your point? Reid can get by with anyone. He has Mahomes, the best oline, and the best TE in the game. What does Dorsey have? McD has to have the very best every year. Reid trusts his abilities with less so the other side can get stocked up to give it the best chance.

Not all receivers with the same traits are created equal. In this case, downs is a slot master who has excellent hands, elite speed, and runs precise routes. Why not get the whole package instead of waiting later? This. 100% this. The fact that people say to wait and get a guy like that later is how you keep putting yourself in this situation every offseason. Time to bite the bullet and get an elite guy and have it fixed for 4-5 years.

I agree with all of this. Anything but defense for me. Show Allen good faith by getting him someone in the first. There are other rounds to “address defense”. The fact that we have to keep having this discussion every year with how much they prioritize defense is awful as it is. I also really like Zay flowers and Addison. Both would be good gets for our franchise qb.

This is why people are arguing you. You can call others childish, but having a different opinion other than yours isn’t childish. Saying we have better weapons is proven false all across the board. You are right about one thing though…this isn’t worth arguing…mostly because what you are writing as a fact is just your opinion. The numbers prove otherwise. My bad…Davis’s ankle caused him to have an almost 50/50 completion percentage on balls that were targeted to him. I’m sure that’s the reason…👍

Lots to rip apart here. You talk about Davis being hurt, but you forget it was an ankle. It had nothing to do with his ability to catch the ball. Whoops. Didn’t have a crush on Moore at all. Just saying I’d rather have him over anyone who played the slot for us last year. The “solid roster” idea was fabricated all season long. It wasn’t nearly as “solid” on offense as we had 2 boundary receivers, a gadget guy playing in the slot, a RT that was forced to start week one after back surgery because there wasn’t depth behind him, and an aging LG that couldn’t block the wind. Keep trying to convince this roster was better than it actually was. That’s your right. You mean like how bills fans got drunk in Davis’s KC playoff game?

I totally agree. Rankings don’t do much for me. Anyone with a warm brain can watch the games and realize why we are successful on offense. We have one of the most unique qbs in league history and an elite receiver. The rest is so meh it’s not even funny. Davis struggles with the dropsies, McKenzie was blah, our line is insanely awful. Our qb was the leading rusher most weeks and was constantly running for his life. It’s no wonder Diggs is upset. No one took pressure off him and it’s a miracle he had the numbers he did. He’s also someone that has been vocal about the bills needing to add another playmaker for Allen.

It’s so funny to me that some people can’t take off their fan glasses and look at things for the way they are. I’d take juju or hardman over davis. I’d take skyy moore over anyone we had in the slot and toney was a good find as well. Come on with this “we had more” nonsense.

I agree, but it doesn’t have to be early. You can find a fat guy at any point in the draft. Heck, our best DT last year is a former 4th rounder.

Yeah I laugh at people that use Mahomes as an example in regards to not having much. He has arguably the best oline, a good running game, the best TE in the game and some very solid, reliable receivers. The only player I’d take over who the chiefs have is Diggs. That’s it.

While I agree with this, I do have concerns about who might be there in the second. The top of the second is usually where you see a big run on receivers. Happens every year. If that happens, we could be looking at a not so sexy pool of receivers at 59.

I would love a fat DT in round 3 or 4. Get a guy that can plug the middle.

It’s beyond absurd to me to think anyone believes we could trade up in the first for a player that doesn’t play a premium position and doesn’t even have a consensus first round grade. Exactly. I’m not sure why certain groups of posters keep wanting more defense every year and are content to let Allen piddle around with less than ideal talent on his side of the ball. At some point, the bills are gonna have to pony up and find some players with elite talent to play along side him. Enough of these one year contracts to players on “prove it” deals. Get the guy some guys with elite traits that he can build continuity with.

Or there could be something to it. Hmmmmm. Think about it…why on earth would the bills go to all this trouble to smoke screen wanting to land a second round graded LB in the first round? Again…this isn’t the 90’s. LBs don’t hold the same premium value that they once did. Try joining 2023 before you miss out.

Please tell me how Diggs can “get the ball more” or Allen can stop “carrying the team on his back”. I’ll help you out…better supporting weapons and a better line. Good grief man.

Agree. But what is the best way to keep him happy? Get better weapons to take pressure off of him. That’s where JSN and other top receivers come into play. Hence the premise of this thread.

Same can be said at WR1. If you draft a guy in the first this year, by the time Diggs is done, we can pay the new receiver.
