  1. You are 100% right and I’ve been arguing this since all the lemmings followed Joe Marino over the cliff over not getting another mlb. It’s honestly a sacrifice tjay needed to be made to make this team more well rounded. For years, the o has been neglected in lieu of bolstering the d. Beane finally spent premium picks on the o and people are upset about it?
  2. Boom. I think the addition of ford and possible resurgence of settle and getting Jones back will be more critical for our d than a stinking mlb.
  3. Give me an elite secondary, butt kicking DT, or blitzing DE over a mlb any day of the week. Not even a question imo in todays pass happy league.
  4. Thank you. It’s not imo. It’s a different league. Give me an arse kicking DT any day of the week over a prototypical mlb.
  5. He’s not wrong. This mlb talk is insane imo. I can think of just about any other position on d that is more important in todays nfl.
  6. Agree. It’s obvious that kid has nose for the ball and is aggressive. Edmunds had everything but lacked a mean streak. Give Williams a chance and call it a day.
  7. Awesome post. Great job. Totally agree. I just don’t care as much as some people. It’s silly to me that people are so upset about it. We have a hall of famer on the edge, the best safety duo in the game, Tre freaking white, all pro Milano and people are upset about our mlb? Come on. It’s dumb imo.
  8. Personally, I think you are way off. Beane wanted to add to the offense at the expense of continuing to add to the d for once. And he did that. I can bet anything campbell wouldn’t have been the pick if he was available. But we’ve been down that road before, so I’ll let that go. I just feel like no one wants to admit that defense doesn’t matter as much when the stakes are high. Look at how we exited the playoffs recently. The d completely crapped itself in 13 seconds. That was even with edmunds who everyone is crying about losing. I’m sorry…I just don’t share the same opinions on the d. Let’s get it top10-15 and make the o unstoppable. Beane appears to have tried to do that this off-season. Id personally rather have a game wrecking DT like Chris Jones or Quinnen Williams. Those are the guys that make a huge difference on defense. I’m just not with any of the doomsday crowd at MLB. Sorry.
  9. MLB is not going to be what is the difference between an early playoff exit and the SB. You know what was last year? Offensive weapons. Beane addressed that and the line this off-season and chose to let it play out at MLB with what he already had. Kudos to him for doing right by his franchise qb. Imo, that’s what could be the difference between us winning and not winning the SB.
  10. Are you sure about that? Daboll had nothing to do with Shakir. He was a rookie last year in Daboll’s first year as HC.
  11. He literally grabbed his jersey. Not sure what you didn’t see. It’s gonna get called more often than not
  12. Elam isn’t a starter
  13. I wasn’t a fan of the Elam pick. I felt they took him because they felt they needed one. Still do. The fact that he doesn’t fit their scheme and late rounders are getting more burn makes it even more puzzling and frustrating. Last years draft was also pretty well stocked with day 2 corners and a few day 3 guys that made immediate impacts. Guys like Cam Taylor Britt and Tariq woolen come to mind. I hope Elam figured it out but at this point there seems to be obvious deficiencies that are keeping him out as the CB2.
  14. I honestly don’t believe this at all. I think he preferred Kincaid all along. He really like Davis at WR and has been pushing this type of TE for a few seasons now.
  15. Sam Mills starred in McDs defense in Carolina and was 5’9”, 229.
  16. That’s funny because I’ve read a lot about how Dodson is making plays and looks to be in control. But you have an agenda, so…
  17. You talk about backups like they are a bad thing. Sometimes players are only backups until they are given a chance to prove themselves as starters and they never look back…
  18. I think gabe is gonna want to do what edmunds did. He will bet on himself and let the cards fall where they may at the end of the season. If that means we lose him, then so be it. It’s a smart move on his part.
  19. Nobody said anything about a big extension right now. I’ll bet Beane has approached him about a reasonable extension but it’s likely Davis is willing to bet on himself sort of like edmunds did.
  20. Good point. It’s a tough spot for Beane. He can try to lock him up before the games start or he can “wait and see” if his drops disappear. Either way it’s a huge gamble.
  21. Agree. I was really hard on him last year and want him to pan out. I’m just concerned about the translation from practice to actual games. The dude is a hard worker, but it doesn’t mean much if his drops continue when the lights are on.
  22. Honest question…if he wasn’t a jet would you care? There are lots of fringe hall of famers in the hall at this point.
  23. The thing that irritates me with Davis is how McD and Beane talk about how hard he works. I don’t doubt that. However, I hope it doesn’t fool them into rewarding him with a new contract based off of work ethic if it doesn’t translate on the field.
  24. Sounds like we might not have a MLB problem after all. Hmmmm…
  25. Early candidate for our first round pick imo. I can’t imagine a scenario where brown takes a strong hold on that RT job due to inconsistencies and injuries. It’s too important to just trot anyone out there.
