You are right on both counts but its a low risk throw. Malcolm Butler made a great play on the ball. I read afterward that the Pats practiced against that pattern and Butler wasn't able tp prevent a completion but learned from his mistake.

I thought so, too until I heard Pete Carroll's reasoning: If Lynch does not get in the clock keeps running. By throwing a low risk pass like that, it's either a TD because the Pats expect a run or its incomplete stopping the clock and giving the Seahawks more time to run more plays. Remember Lynch is hard to bring down once he gets going but he can be stopped behind the line. I'm not saying that I agree with carroll but his reasonong makes some sense.

I don't understand the Burrows haters. How can you not like a guy who looks like a 1930s G-man?

Unitas did it all. He called his own plays and played in an era when the D was allowed to beat up the QB. Halas' Bears were notorious for being dirty players. It's really impossible to say who the GOAT or rank QBs. As others have stated the game has changed so much.

Otto Graham was a very good QB. He played for the Belichick of his era, Paul Brown (after whom the Browns are named)). The Cleveland Browns were so good that they won all 4 championships of the All-American Football Conference (the Bills were one of the AAFC teams). When the AAFC folded in 1949 the Browns joined the NFL and won the 1950 NFL championship plus the 1954 & 55 championships with Otto at the helm.

I'm not an Edmunds homie -- I think he has room for improvement on running plays. The most common D the Bills play (as has been pointed out in outher posts) is not a 4-3. It's a nickle 4-2 with 5 DB's. There is no typical MLB. Edmunds' assignment is to clog up the middle of the field passing lanes so throws go elsewhere. That's one reason he doesn't appear to make many plays in the passing game. Edwards also has good lateral movement enabling him to make plays all over the field. This & his pass coverage skills enable out safties to do things they otherwise could not do. It is worth noting that during the 13 sec, the Bills did not have Edmunds in the center of the field. He was on the side of the formation opposite to the play. On Kelce's catch, Milano appears to have had center coverage responsibility. For purposes of discussion Pro Football Reference has the following stats for Edmunds & Milano: Edmunds numbers are in the is in the first column: Combined tackles: 108 86 Solo tackles 70 57 Assists 38 29 Tackles for loss 7 15

Now there's a name from the past. -
Thurman Thomas was far faster than I thought he was...

The pros used to act that way. Now every good play merits a flamboyant response. -

How about the Washington Reds. That should get Putin off the Ukraine's back.

I'll buy them & move them to Cheektowaga.

The Goat has retired. Next Goat up!

I'd like to see the Bengals win. BUT their OL is overmatched by the Rams DL. The game may resemble last years SB with Burrows playing the role of Mahomes running for his life.

Brian Daboll hired to be Head Coach of NY Giants

I hope you are right. -

If Dorsey leaves and an external OC is hired that means alot of extra work for the offenses (especially Josh) in the off season & training camp because there will be a new offensive system to learn. -
Maybe; or maybe not. If Wallace is lined up correctly, the only inside help is Milano who appears to be dropping into zone. Milano initially steps toward Hill and away from Wallace. That opens up the middle for Kelce. Without knowing what defense was called you can't say who screwed up. Wallace? Milano? Frazier? McDermot? This is why if daboll gets hired away it's important to keep the same offensive philosophy, play-naming, etc.
-
If that's a comment on the Kelce catch its unfair. Edmunds is lined up deep over Hill on the other side of the formation. If anything the fact that Edmunds is in on the tackle shows his lateral speed.
-
I wish someone on this board would analyze the defenses in the final 13 secs. On Kelce's 20 yard grab Wallace has outside leverage on Kelce so someone must have had inside leverage but who? Milano? one of the safeties?

Our defense always seems to come up short in the playoffs

Is this tactic legal? When Mahomes leaves the pocket he's a potential runner so we can knock down his receivers. I've seen this done but the rules may have closed this loophole. I hope not. Everyone loves a good loophole. -
Only legal on one day a year due to all the drunken fights that broke out. Good on yuh. What's a Bills fan doing in Sydney?

How about some "Two Up"?

Can you fair catch a kick that is bouncing along the ground?
