  1. Running out of options. I like adebo better but we’ve obviously been connected to Meli, not sure I ever saw us connected to adebo.
  2. All 3 Cs nico collins melifonwu browning all still there
  3. Feels like it’s gonna be Melifonwu to me...
  4. Something’s up with him. Guys with his tape and profile don’t fall this far *just because*. Medical, character, legal... he’s gotten flagged for something, depends on what, but would definitely be fun!
  5. Yes to those 3. I’d add St. Juste for the 2nd.
  6. Yeah very fair consideration. I like a lot of these corners not named Asante Samuel Jr., so kinda just assuming that one will be around that I like. If that’s somehow not the case I’d probably look elsewhere.
  7. Wildly diverging values there. Browning would be a steal (though not really a need for) Werner would be a huge reach. Pass there.
  8. I’ll admit that I’d be tempted by Ossai, but that’s just cuz I love the player and the potential. Still think it’d be a terrible use of resources, but fun! In a vacuum, sure, I agree. With our needs, disagree. We badly need a #2 CB, we maybe only kinda sorta need a slot cb.
  9. We need an outside CB and can use either a slot or edge WR. also not convinced that those WRs, specifically Elijah, is a slot-only guy. People said that about Jefferson last year and we saw how it worked out...
  10. I’m not arguing against the Rousseau pick. I’m arguing that we don’t need to take ANOTHER edge.
  11. The only "character" issues I've seen is that the guy took a year off and then showed up to his one and only opportunity to show for that last year's work and didn't exactly wow people. He did *fine*, so I can certainly see people hand-waiving it away as not the biggest deal in the world, but he tested below what most folks expected of him. To me -- that's THE BIGGEST QUESTION that needs answering. Us schlubs can only sit back and watch and read, so -- just like injury concerns -- we're at an extreme disadvantage relative to actual NFL teams. I've taken some solace in our relationship with the UM coaching staff, clearly Bean & co. trust Manny Diaz and his staff's word on Rousseau's drive and work ethic. That's really all we can ask for with regards to the "character" stuff. So I guess it all just goes back to trusting the staff? Obviously "Rouse" has a lot of physical traits to get excited about, and given that he's only played DE for 1 year, still feels as though his upside is pretty immense, but I do think ANY expectations of him doing anything of significance on the field next year are probably optimistic at best.
  12. Was about to say the same thing -- ditto for Kelvin Joseph. Just because we're sitting at 61 doesn't mean we're stuck there...
  13. Yep. I'd add Kelvin Joseph, both Cs, Elijah and Rondale Moore, Nico Collins....... No point in having guys like Trask or Perkins on there...
  14. We need more from the pass rush, absolutely. The answer to getting that, though, is not adding more pass rushers. It's getting more out of the ones we've already drafted over the past few years.
  15. It just doesn't work like that though, especially with the depth we have at DE already. Success in the NFL is as much an asset allocation problem as anything else. If you devote too many assets to one position, the rest of them take a hit. Our best chance of "getting to Mahomes" as you say, isn't Rousseau, or Ojulari, or anyone else in the draft -- it's Epanesa and Oliver developing. As for keeping up with Hill, good luck -- that's more of a scheme and communication thing than anything else. The "Rousseau" version of CB that might be available (and also possesses the speed you and many others are looking for) is Kelvin Joseph. He's the CB I want. Back to asset allocation -- you can also beat KC (and every other team) with better offense. So that brings the Moores, Javonte Williams, the OL, Friermuth, etc. into the discussion. You can't draft with one competitor in mind. It's about making YOUR team and YOUR scheme better, not matching up better against one of the 31 others...
  16. You're completely entitled to your own opinion -- I think Samuel is... well I'll just say "not good" to keep it clean and cordial. He ain't it. As for DL, Ojulari was a questionable fit as a DE in our system to begin with. I like the player well enough, assuming his medicals aren't an issue, but I don't think you can double down at DE when you also used your first available pick in the previous draft at that position as well...
  17. Yikes. Outside of Davis, that's a list of guys I'd be VERY upset at drafting.
  18. I’m sure Beane knows the cost and will have the phone ready, but the math looks pretty good to not have to... -Any and all edge players won’t be considered (Ossai, Basham, Ojulari, Perkins, Robinson?) -Left off guys I want no part of (Levi O, Carman, Mayfield, Samuel Jr.) -Left off slot-only guys (Robinson and Molden) -And there’s a number of guys I’m just kinda meh on: Cox, Cosmi, Amari Rogers, Grant, Campbell, Cisco, Bolton -PLUS. I forgot to include Javonte Williams in the “guys I’d want” list My list + williams is 19, and the guys I left off is well more than the 10 needed to get us to our pick. I feel pretty confident that we’ll have at least a few of my guys on the board...
  19. I’d be very happy with any of: -Elijah Moore -Rondale Moore -Nico Collins -Terrace Marshall -JOK -Baron Browning -Creed Humphrey -Landon Dickerson -Wyatt Davis -Tevin Jenkins -Dillon Radunz -Liam Eicenberg -Pat Freiermuth -Trevon Moerig -Jevon Holland -Kelvin Joseph -Christian Barrmore That’s 18 guys, chances are at least a couple will be available when we pick of that list I’d be most stoked with Joseph or Collins, I think.
  20. Yeah I think what I'm saying is separating what "I think the Bills will do" with "what I think of Rousseau" -- there's a TON of biases and assumptions that go into all of that. As a draft nerd, I like Rousseau the player and certainly see a path to him becoming a VERY good football player. As a Bills fan, I can see a lot of reasons why he doesn't make a super logical fit, but a lot of that is also how I would build a team, it's entirely possible the FO is excited about the idea.
  21. I think it's a need too. I also think, though, that they feel comfortable "finding" guys. Look at Poyer and Hyde, one was a castoff CB who'd struggled his first few years in the league and the other was a rotation player that the Packers could never quite figure out where to play him. I'm expecting a later rd. pick or two to be guys they think they can mold into an heir apparent.
  22. An S-ton of wings, a random assortment of light beer and chips probably as well. Merry Draftsmas all!!!
  23. Here's my thinking about the "covering LBs" fear... There's maybe 6-8 in the league who are genuinely a threat: Kittle, Kelce, Waller, Pitts, Andrews... Maybe Geisicki? Irv Smith? Jonnu? Hockenson (sort of?) Of those, we're markedly better than the Raiders, Pats, Lions, 49ers and wherever Pitts lands (barring maybe MIA), meaning even if they have a mismatch at that spot, we should be able to beat them elsewhere. So we're making a draft pick (trading up, no less), because we're concerned about a couple players who may or may not even be on our schedule year over year? Don't get me wrong, I like the big Nickle idea, and see TE matchups as a need too, but if the decision is between a guy like Phillips, who will be able to make an impact every game, vs. a guy that's more of a situational type, I'll take Phillips every time.
