Should Josh Allen be tougher on Diggs?
Delete_Delete_Delete replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t know Josh personally, but he strikes me as somebody who actively avoids confrontation. There is nothing wrong with that, but I just don’t think he is trying to bother with baby sitting Diggs and correcting his attitude problems. Josh’s job is to throw him the ball, it’s the coach’s job to get his players to “buy in”, set aside their diva-like attitudes and handle their tantrums. -
Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
Delete_Delete_Delete replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Again, just me personally, but if I’m in that position where I’m one of the best to ever do it like D Hop, I want to walk away with as much $$$ as possible, so I can keep building a financial empire of my own, and then maybe one day my kids or grandkids are owning a team while somebody else is putting there body and well being on the line for my entertainment and financial gain. I’m not saying $40 million isn’t enough, it obviously should be for any sane person, but it depends on what that person wants to accomplish in their post football career. Plus with what we know about CTE, I don’t think there is ever “enough” in football, hard to put a price on your greatly increased odds for early onset dementia. I’d gladly take as much as somebody is willing to pay when the collateral damage might be my head and time with family down the road. Either way, I think D Hop puts the bag before a Lombardi and cashes in while he still can. -

I don’t think he’ll be a Bill or a Chief for that matter. Article on PFT says he’s looking to get a big pay day still, so I expect him to go to somebody like the Cowboys or Lions who feel they are on the cusp themselves, or a team with a young QB who needs reliable weapons, like Chicago or Carolina. I’m not faulting the guy for it, this is likely his last opportunity to get that kind of money in his lifetime. I actually think the guys who take “team friendly deals” are the crazy ones, especially when the teams generally show no loyalty to the players the moment their performance slips in any way. -
If You Could Pick Any RB to Line Up Behind Josh
Delete_Delete_Delete replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
now- Bijan. I’m thinking this kid is going to be special, and I want the RB with the lowest mileage on the tires combined with elite skill set. past- Barry. All time RB1. Dude just ran different, never seen another like him. Plus the numbers he put up, considering everybody knew he was the Lions offense, just ridiculous. -
Bringing him in would free Bates up to go battle for the starting RT spot, and would give them a great option to move on from Morse next year, which I think is in the best interest for everybody involved with his concussion history. Morse’s dead cap# would be $8.36m this year, where as only $3m next season with a cap savings of $8.5m. Either way this is likely Mitch’s last year in a Bills uniform, it’s going to be hard for Roullier to find a starting job that he can just walk into this time of year, let him compete for the job, and at the very worst he is an insurance policy against a concussion prone Center.

RD 5, Pick 150: WR Justin Shorter, Florida
Delete_Delete_Delete replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Trying to get Josh some big targets, and still the typical pissing and moaning… on a 5th round pick. Who cares that Beane’s success rate, including drafting WR, has been better than average in the late rounds? Who thought last year Benford was going to step in right away and not only start, but play well enough to not be a weak link on a 13-3 NFL team? The teams Beane built should’ve at the very least went to back to back AFC Championships, likely a Lombardi (two years ago), and last year went 13-3, in the midst of what seemed like non-stop injuries… Trust the process, it’s worked thus far. It’s not like this is a franchise backing into the playoffs year after year, they are elite, they are knocking on the door, it’s just a matter of time before they kick it in. -
Analyzing 10 years of first round TE production
Delete_Delete_Delete replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
TE is one of those spots where it takes often a year or two to start realizing their full potential, likely due to the complexity of the position and blocking requirements at this level. Still I’m hoping for 600-800 yards and atleast 5 TDS, as he is the top TE prospect in a very strong class. Considering what the Bills have done with Knox, who had a whopping 39 Catches for 605 yards and zero TDS in his entire collegiate career, I’m excited to see what Kincaid does in this offense. I mean the dude had almost half of Knox’s entire college catch total in one game vs USC… This was already the #2 scoring offense in all of the NFL last year (though you’d never believe this any time the name Ken Dorsey is uttered around here), and the flexibility the DK’s allows Dorsey is going to give opposing defenses nightmares. How do you know if it’s a power package or are they going to split one/both guys out and go 3/4 wide? I think the rookie makes his presence known early and often as DCs won’t know how to gameplan for this new wrinkle in the Bills offense. -
Daboll and Schoen just did us dirty I think

How Will McDermott Change the Defense?
Delete_Delete_Delete replied to Simon Says's topic in The Stadium Wall
Benford and Elam having a year under their belts coupled with Tre, Hyde, and Poyer all back to 100 percent, then mixing in Taron and Rapp is going to allow McDermott to call a much more aggressive defense. The defense will take a step forward, and they crush the Vegas win total over 10.5. -
Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
Delete_Delete_Delete replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can’t imagine KC throwing a spending a bunch of money on Hopkins, why wouldn’t they have simply extended Hill if they were going to pay top $ for a WR? If he wants guaranteed money and/or an extension, I think he likely ends up somewhere with a young developing QB who needs a consistent target. He’s at the stage of his career where he can take a little less/re-work his contract in a team friendly way to try and be on a winner, or try to find a team that is willing to give him one last big pay day (since AZ gave him the right to seek a trade, they aren’t forcing it, atleast based on the way it was worded in reports)… Being real, if I’m Hopkins, I find the team willing to pay me and maybe even reup getting one last major pay day, bc after what some of the injuries we’ve witnessed and then what happened with Damar, I’ll never be mad at a guy for trying to get every cent they can playing this game. -

Hopefully Beane has dug his heels in and doesn’t overpay to overpay. Building a WR room with guys over 30 being paid $20 mil each per isn’t the recipe for sustained success. Nothing higher than a 3rd and 5th, with them eating like 40% of his salary this year. Something in that vicinity for an aging, overpaid WR one mistake away from a season long suspension. -
Chris Kelsay… dude just epitomized the Bills of that era. I think I was more shocked when they re-upped Kelsay than when the team signed T.O. or “Super Mario”. Re-signing Kelsay was just waiving the white flag saying to the fans “we’re fine with 7-9, and you should be too”… I believe this was also around the time of the mega free agent splash that captivated the football world known as Derrick Dockery, another strong candidate for this list.

Aaron Rodgers talking with the Jets
Delete_Delete_Delete replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
While I think you can make the argument Allen is possibly ahead of Rodgers at this point in his career, Rodgers is one year removed from back to back MVPs and has won four total. I don’t think Cole is trying to stir anything up, one guy has 4 MVPs and a ring, the other has two rings in 3 Super Bowl appearances already with 2 MVP awards. Rodgers probably the best regular season QB ever… Josh is great, best QB in Bills history, but the resume doesn’t have the accolades of the other two and until he starts adding some hardware to his list of accomplishments in this league, he’s always going to be viewed as just behind those other guys, and in terms of league perception, Burrow has passed him… I think that’s crazy, but you hear it in the way “analysts” talk about Mahomes, Burrow, then Allen… which I prefer anyway, 17 plays better with a chip on his shoulder rather than a world of expectations. -
Poyer is back! Resigning with Bills
Delete_Delete_Delete replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Love it, much more valuable to the defense than Edmunds, hopefully Hyde gets to 110% and we get 2-3 more seasons of the best safety tandem in the league. -
44 Targets 27 Catches (61.4%) 3 TDs 541 yards Thats Robert Foster’s rookie numbers, just running those same deep go routes, with rookie Josh Allen who couldn’t hit the broadside of the hospitality tent. We all know Josh’s ball placement was nowhere near what it is now. Which means I think that 41% you put on Josh for “flat out misses” more likely just A-Gabe being a non-elite route runner B-Gabe not getting separation C-Gabe being slow D-All of the above Not saying Josh is perfect, he misses a couple a game, but there is no way he “flat out missed” Gabe Davis almost half of every time he threw his way, that’s ridiculous.

Should Sean Payton get a phone call?
Delete_Delete_Delete replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even though I think Payton should’ve done more than one Super Bowl appearance (and win) with Brees considering he never had to go through Payton, Brady, or even prime Ben to get there, I would love to see a offensive mastermind at the helm while Josh is still in his prime. -
I agree, aside from Milano there isn’t a single piece I would be upset if they moved on from… I also can’t say I trust them at this point to draft well on that side of the ball either. How much blown draft capital invested in the DL? At this point Beane’s rep is pretty much being the guy lucky enough to draft Josh Allen, who has carried this sorry roster as far as he could…
