  1. Agree, the offense has been really stale this season. The second half of the season feels like we don’t throw to anyone other than Diggs and Knox. Sanders might just be wearing down, but Davis and Beasley don’t seem to be part of the game plan. Much of last seasons success was a result of distributing the ball to different players. That’s how good NFL teams play in this era.
  2. I’m putting a lot of this on coaching. Most NFL rosters have holes. Very few teams, if any, have no weaknesses. Our weaknesses are mostly in the trenches. Obviously that’s a terrible place to be weak, but we have an elite QB. There’s no way we aren’t better than 7-5 with our soft schedule. The Jags loss, and blowout home loss to the Colts were inexcusable. This team has some major issues, but the Colts shouldn’t be 45-13 better than us, and the Jags shouldn’t beat us 9-6. I don’t know how I can’t place that on coaching. We’re the better team, even with our issues. It’s a fair assumption that we aren’t winning titles struggling in the trenches. However, I can’t solely blame the composition of the roster for the ugly losses this season. McD is correct, we aren’t winning a title with no run game, but right now Josh gives us the best chance to win. Singletary and Moss one yard runs are a waste. We have no run game, and it’s time to be honest about this. The run game isn’t going to develop at this point in the season. This roster was composed in the manner that suited Beane and McDermott, it’s time for them to play to its strengths. Maybe those strengths won’t bring home the ultimate goal, but it’s better than trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Fix the roster during the off-season. Give Allen the keys to the offense, and give up trying what doesn’t work.
  3. Didn’t Claypool go to Notre Dame? I think the TBD college football forum just had a debate about academic standards for ND athletes, I think this video provides the answer.
  4. It seems like they try to hide him, but he can still make lots of throws when given the opportunity. He does need the o line to block really well considering how immobile he is.
  5. The defender knocking that ball out might be the best Bills play of the week.
  6. Why are we even making these throws with less than five minutes, and a big lead?
  7. I really miss the days when you had dominant teams by this point in the season. There’s a fine line between parody and mediocrity.
  8. Good post, I think the defense doesn’t get the credit they deserve because of bias against the stereotypical Big 12 style of play. The running back being out was a huge loss. Jackson just doesn’t appear to have what it takes to be the main back in that offense.
  9. Allen carried us, what I haven’t seen mentioned is the fact that our OC took his star QB out of the game with the wind at his back in the first quarter. We went all in on the run when Josh should have been given opportunity earlier on.
  10. Yes, because it seems unfair. There’s a lot of guys who need to be called out. McKenzie is the least of our problems.
  11. The offense had a terrible game, but if you think we played good defense, you’re simplifying the game of football. Being unable to stop the run allows the other team to control the clock. We had fewer opportunities on offense because we couldn’t get of the field. Our defense was actually historically awful last night, if you consider how many times the Pats threw. That doesn’t happen in the NFL. It doesn’t matter we held them to 14. I’ve seen college games where running teams score just 20 points without punting. Our offense was bad, but the Pats controlled the game because we couldn’t stop the run.
  12. That’s why I can’t dwell on his missed throws like some people do. He made plenty of incredible plays, while carrying this team on his back. Other guys are out there making mistake after mistake. Allen made up for each mistake.
  13. That’s not hyperbole. When the opposing QB goes 2-3 for 19 yards in a loss, that’s just embarrassing. I think Derek Anderson had a better game against us with the Browns back in the day.
  14. I’m really not craving watching a Bills playoff at this moment.
  15. Allen might be the best QB in the league, but this supporting cast leaves a lot to be desired.
  16. Guys like him are exactly what championship teams don’t have on their roster. You can have some average players, but not someone who can be a disaster on any given day.
