  1. GunnerBill did a good job explaining it. It’s not something I’ve ever given any thought to, but now it makes sense. I was confused by a couple posts that simply state, “the NFL has a formula”. Sounds like the kind of answer you get when a real answer might not exist.
  2. I understand it’s no conspiracy, but I laugh when people say the NFL has a “formula”. It’s meaningless intellectual lingo. It reminds me of the old online dating commercial “algorithms”. I’m sure the NFL has a legitimate method, but can it actually be explained? You’d think they’d just switch home/away like college series often do.
  3. I think that was the moment Adams officially became a Raider. Seems like he landed in the right spot.
  4. I agree with that, but I have some sympathy for Carr. The Raiders are a poorly operated franchise. There’s been zero continuity throughout Carr’s career. They’ve cycled through various coaching regimes, poor head coach hires, and made bad/strange trades. Carr is a guy who can lead a team to consistent .500 records, while possibly sneaking into the playoffs. That isn’t good enough, but what potential he might have is surely being wasted. The Raiders have gone backwards this season, and I can’t put that solely on Carr. McDaniels has turned a 10-7 team into a dumpster fire with an elite wideout on the field, who they made a big trade for. I mostly agree on Carr as a player, but watching last night’s game made me realize that everyone is boring in comparison to Allen. It’s really spoiled watching NFL football, in the best way possible.
  5. I couldn’t agree more, everyone loves blaming Carr. He’s an inconsistent QB who will never take his team to the promised land, but this is a clear step back from recent years. Mahomes owes the LV and Denver front office Christmas gifts for hiring Hackett and McDaniels. NFL teams continue to make really dumb moves sometimes.
  6. I thought that might change a bit with the threat of Hill being gone.
  7. Am I the only one who finds the Chiefs boring to watch?
  8. Reid looking like an angry walrus, that’s a good sign.
  9. How do you let that happen? I hated the call to go for it, but it sure worked.
  10. The AFC West has some good talent, but it makes life easy on Andy Reid. He can coach circles around the other clowns in that division.
  11. That’s what I’m hoping, but I worry we won’t see that version of Carr with McDaniels. That dude is a disaster as head coach.
  12. I agree, I love hot weather, but I’m talking about 100 plus degree weather, like the sideline in Miami or Phoenix Arizona in the summer. That isn’t pleasant, tolerable, or good outdoor weather. It’s just as bad as cold imo. I’m cool with a 90 degree day to chill outside, but I’m not hanging around drinking a beer on a 115 degree day in the desert.
  13. For some reason it seems that 100+ heat isn’t universally discussed as being crappy weather in the same way as cold. Yet everyone who experiences that type of heat complains about it nonstop. I do understand hating snow, rain, or dreary weather, but cold and extreme heat are equals imo.
  14. I have no clue since I don’t really listen to announcers. All I recall from the broadcast is Romo’s sweaty pits. If any of the broadcast team is sweating in the booth, I don’t think Siberia jokes should be on the agenda.
  15. The guys who were out are all talented players. We need that talent against quality opponents. I’m not taking anything away from our win, but the Steelers offense is bad and inexperienced. It was a great defensive performance regardless, but a rookie QB is going to struggle against McD’s scheme. We always have a good scheme, but guys like White and Edmonds can be the difference between a win and loss against elite opponents.
  16. He decided to make the end of the game all about him
  17. Knox has done everything asked of him this season. I used to doubt him, but I’ve grown to love his potential. I don’t understand why we can’t incorporate him into being a regular part of this offense. I’m jealous when I see how guys like Kelce and Kittle are used. Knox isn’t at that level, but I’d like to see him integrated into our game plan in a similar manner. We need to see if he can carry that load.
  18. Absolutely, Brady is hailed as the GOAT, and thought of as a teammate who elevates everyone. He probably has nothing in common with most of his teammates. Wilson might be “weird”, but his on field play is the real issue.
  19. I don’t mind him. His criticism of Wilson was more direct and focused than anything Fitz or Sherman had to say imo.
  20. I didn’t mind it. You give Wilson a huge contract to win games against teams like the Colts. He couldn’t make one play all night, but was given a final chance, and failed once again. Hackett could have played for the tie, but if Wilson can’t get it done, that’s not a team going far regardless.
  21. Maybe, but Hackett got heavily criticized for not letting Russ cook in the opening game vs Seattle. He let Russ cook this time, and got burned. I think he’s an awful coach, but I can understand overcompensating.
  22. Why did Gilmore only get flagged for his tendency to latch on to receivers in Buffalo? Seems like he’s made his career on it after.
  23. Exactly, Russell Wilson looks a lot like Trent Edwards at this point.
  24. Awful clock management by Reich to have no timeouts at this point.
  25. Rooting for a Colts TD. I want to hear how loud Denver can boo their team.
