  1. Yes, he’s an amazing college QB, but his weaknesses are the type of things that make pro QB’s fail. There’s an NFL GM somewhere who will overlook that and pay the price. The first play that comes to mind is the hospital ball that knocked Harrison out of the game. OSU might have won without that play. The QB needs to throw that ball out of bounds, not loft a balloon into the back of the end zone. It all works out in college, but I’m not sure if his decision making will work in the pros.
  2. Agree, I softened my stance on Ohio State coaching after some posters pointed things out, but Harbaugh was horrendous. It seems like much of Big Ten fandom have resigned themselves to being fans of an inferior conference. I’m hearing a lot of “they’re the best” sentiments when referring to Georgia. It’s almost has if beating another power five conference team is unexpected. Georgia is the better team, but it doesn’t mean Ohio State didn’t fold. Michigan was just straight up pathetic.
  3. Good post, college ball has definitely been king in the South for many years, but their complete domination of the sport seems more recent. I’d love to be down south on a fall Saturday. It looks like a great time, and being an SEC fan would be a blast. I just long for the days of competitive conferences across the country. The narrative is no longer interesting, the SEC is clearly the best, and has nothing more to prove.
  4. Fair, I agree the Dawgs brought their C game on defense, and it took Stroud having the game of his life to hang with them. I shouldn’t completely dismiss coaching because those two factors. I think the emotional element clouds my analysis with Big Ten football. I’m just tired of Big Ten teams inability to beat the big boys in the playoffs, with the exception of the OSU champions in 2014. OSU at least showed up to play last night.
  5. True, I’m probably being a little harsh on Ohio State coaching. I think the final series left a bad taste. The last two calls before the field goal weren’t good imo, but I suppose the overall game plan was good to hang with Georgia.
  6. Yes, both Big Ten teams were heavily out coached .
  7. Curious use of timeouts on defense from Harbaugh.
  8. That’s fair, and I’ll be the first to admit TCU and the Big 12 doesn’t play defense, but does the Big Ten have an offense worth a salt other than Ohio State? I was always a Big Ten guy, but started watching more SEC and Big 12 this season. The offensive football in the Big Ten is like watching paint dry imo.
  9. TCU exposing the Michigan defense shows how bad Big Ten offensive football is.
  10. Geno is and was terrible. He played very well for half this season, but it seems like a mirage. He’s regressed quite a bit the past few weeks, looking like Geno with the Jets again.
  11. I thought this was a Russell Wilson post.
  12. It will be an interesting offseason. I think Payton should stay retired, but I understand the itch to be around the game. It’s easy to see his second act being a bust imo.
  13. Three words is all I need to know about Hackett and his ability to coach….Syracuse Orange Football. People love picking on Irsay and Saturday with the Colts, but the Bills bringing the Syracuse Orange football staff to the NFL in the 21st century might be the biggest coaching joke of all time.
  14. Colinsworth has a remarkable amount of excuses for Brady being washed up.
  15. Sean Payton is the same guy who let Taysom Hill take snaps away from Drew Brees, so it’s total possible he’s good with the idea of Murray.
  16. True, but I don’t know if any ideal situation is opening up this offseason. He did coach in New Orleans. Benson was never held in high regard before Payton and Brees turned things around.
  17. I don’t care if we get the Fish or Ravens. It’s likely we’ll still need to beat the Bengals and/or Chiefs. I fully understand your point, we don’t want to get knocked out by a familiar divisional opponent, but we aren’t winning a Super Bowl if we can’t beat the Fish at home in January.
  18. I wouldn’t want to see them because I don’t like playing familiar division foes. If they lose today, it’s a four game losing streak. I’m not sure I’d consider them a good team. They’ve fallen apart in the second half of the season. Their talent is a bit scary. Players like Hill and Waddle could help them beat anyone, but I’m no longer sold on them as a contender of any sort.
  19. Fair enough, it seemed longer, but my real point is that going forward we’ll see some bad playoff teams. The Commanders have a Wentz/Heinecke QB battle, and they could be a playoff team.
  20. A Miami loss would be nice, but they’re still right in the mix. That’s my issue with the seven team playoff, the seventh seed often isn’t very good.
  21. Tua is awful when things go off schedule.
  22. That’s fair, I just think it’s premature to say McDaniels stinks as a coach. Miami has improved this season, and I’m not sure what more people expect from that team. I know Bills fans don’t like praising Fish, but there’s worse coaches out there. I mention his players like him because this board talks like he’s in over his head in the NFL. The same league has Hackett, and Josh McDaniel running a playoff team into the ground.
  23. I think they’ve gotten a lot out of Tua, I’m not sold on him, but he benefits from Waddle and Hill. Tua vs Mahomes is the difference between those teams in the red zone. I agree, but that’s what happens with a middle of the pack QB.
  24. His players like him, and that’s what matters, not guys opinions on the internet. I understand not liking him as the coach of the Fish, but he’s been a good fit for them. I’m not sure how people can argue against that.
  25. Receivers are generally under valued in today’s QB crazed NFL. They aren’t given enough credit for their role in the success of the QB. Look what Jefferson has done for Cousins In Minnesota.
