Who has been the biggest disappointment?
SirAndrew replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Davis, he doesn’t look good doing anything besides catching deep passes. I’m more conflicted on Knox. He’s flashed potential ever since joining this team, and looks the part. I’m not convinced he’s given an adequate opportunity to show much. There isn’t enough for me to asses. Allen can’t force passes to Knox, but it seems like this team doesn’t use the tight end position as a safety valve like most modern offenses. There’s no emphasis on getting the ball to Knox. -
I was out when McD was compared to James Franklin 😆 I get the comparison, but McD is a solid coach, and a great guy. Franklin is a mediocre coach, and questionable character. McD shows some glaring weaknesses at times, but there’s no reason he can’t win a title. It’s up to the players to perform as well.

Worst QB in the ACC is quite bold. The entire conference is garbage.

Josh and the team as a whole has done this the past several years. Allen continues to look unstoppable during big moments. He’s a beast during the playoffs, against KC, and most prime time games. Ugly losses happened against Jacksonville last year, and now in the Meadowlands this season. The type of game us fans would be complacent about. Allen and this team play up and down to their competition at times. I think we’ll be fine because Allen should be unstoppable in the playoffs, but we can’t lose too many games without jeopardizing home field.

Why oh why are we not establishing a running game ?
SirAndrew replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
We need to stop using Josh as a substitute for a decent running back, I’ll tell you that much. Coaching leans on Allen’s running ability as a crutch when the offense struggles. I’m not convinced that Allen being used extensively as runner doesn’t throw off the passing game. Improvisational scrambles are a different beast that I don’t believe hurts his game. I’d love to see us win more regular season games with Allen in the pocket. He has an elite arm, I realize that’s taking away part of his game, but also can’t name a Super Bowl winning team who relied heavily on their QB as a runner. It’s not going to end well if they don’t use him more sparingly in the run game. -
I think McD is too stubborn when it comes to playing rookies. Shakir needs to take over the slot role. McKenzie is a gadget player, and the experiment needs to end. Shakir might not be the guy, but we need to find out.

Do you see the Josh Allen era Bills as having a "window"?
SirAndrew replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great examples, but Josh is better than all of those guys. I’m not usually such a homer, but Allen carry’s his team in a special way. Watson derailed his career, while no signs point to Josh being a fool. Luck was talented, but injury prone, not all in on football, and not as gifted as Allen. Wilson was a special talent, but had a phenomenal team around him. The Hawks weren’t a Super Bowl contender once the team declined. Allen compares more to Manning imo. The Colts and Broncos were always contenders with him on the field, and Manning was the main reason. -
Valid points, I completely understand where you’re coming from, but I see it from a slightly different prospective. I don’t see a direct correlation between playing football and watching football these days. I think that was the case in previous eras, but that’s changed. A significant number of pro football fans are people who never played the game, especially among younger generations. The NFL has done a great job promoting the game as entertainment/drama, and gambling helps as well. Upstate NY is fully immersed in the Bills this season. This is also a very weak football region. Western NY gathers to watch a bunch of guys from Texas and Florida compete. It isn’t remotely hurting interest in the game. As long as a decent talent pool exists somewhere, the game will roll on. I think the demise will happen eventually, but other issues will hurt the game before lack of participation.

Great post with good information. I’d just be curious to know why. I can’t imagine it’s due to parents not allowing their children to play. Football is cultural ingrained in many parts of this country. The game is extremely important to so many people, and the opportunities it presents are large. That type of stuff always wins over negative possibilities in life.

I keep hearing how the Bears GM is an up and coming genius, this makes it hard to believe.

NFL messing up a good thing (Pat McAfee)
SirAndrew replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s not going to get anywhere speaking out against the NFL. It was a weird flex. If they are so immoral, he should have been discussing it before they upset him. I’ll believe he’s ready to dish the dirt when I hear it. The NFL will stop that in a hurry. -

I think McAfee promising vengeance against the NFL by telling the “truth” is kind of lame. -
I think new stadiums and price increases improve fan behavior for a variety of reasons. Expect the new Bills stadium to do the same. However, talk of “pricing out” poor behavior always makes me chuckle. People are aware that white collar professionals aren’t the only people who make good money, right? Stadiums in east coasts cities like Boston and NY are always full of clowns, because it’s part of the sports culture. It might be different in other areas of the country, but it’s more a regional phenomenon, opposed to an economic thing.

NFL Week 8: Packers at Bills - 2nd half game thread
SirAndrew replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
It might not have been a well thought out tactic by Alexander, but it’s honestly a decent method to attempt slowing the Bills offense. It’s worked well with guys spending too much focus on Alexander. -

Right, we threw a pick, then Rodgers looks like he cares again because he’s against a soft defense. I’m not very concerned. -

I’m cool with all the passing. It shows McD’s willingness to get outside his conservative comfort zone. Josh just needs to make better choices. -

I think watching the Packers 1940 offense drove the Bills just as crazy as it did me. That was a strange series. -

He doesn’t, but he's never had problems voicing his opinion. He didn’t appear too upset, and I doubt he’ll complain publicly this week. I could be off base, but he seems like a guy who’s just cashing a big paycheck at this point in his career. There doesn’t seem to be much competitive fire.
