Preseason Week 2 Bills at Bears - Game thread

That was a nice throw. Mike White can look phenomenal in spots, but every great throw seems followed by a bad one. -

Yeah, Caleb Williams either failing or fulfilling his potential with a new highly regarded offensive head coach is the story tonight. -

Good to see a stop. I’ve been curious what the backup defense would do tonight. Watching Mike White play football is of zero interest though. -

Yeah, but those are the ultimate high character guys. -

Drop passes, poor depth in pass coverage, and two false starts on the first drive. These are things that we recover from in the regular season with Allen under center. -

These games are beyond meaningless, but I’m simply feeling thankful for Josh Allen right now, as usual. Poor fundamentals, questionable draft choices, yet none of it matters when Allen is on the field. -

I don’t want to overreact, but it’s frightening these guys are all one injury away from starting on defense. -

Sending Hamlin on the blitz. D coordinator getting desperate. -
It is what it is, so I rarely comment on stadium posts anymore. I’ll probably enjoy the new stadium, and maybe it will offer a better game day experience. However, I agree with you. The defeatist attitudes are something I’ll never understand. Why this assumption we’d never attract large events? It’s Buffalo, so of course we can’t. That’s a misunderstanding of how the event business works. The Dome in Syracuse often held the tournament, and recently attracted major concerts. Maybe those concerts could have been in Buffalo, at a better venue than the old dome in Syracuse. Instead we say that nothing would happen here. I also have zero faith in “studies” that say it wouldn’t benefit the economy. Maybe I’m cynical, but when companies pay for studies, usually the study simply reflects the message they’re trying to convey.

Absolutely, I get downvoted for saying this all the time, but McD is a different guy in the playoffs. I don’t know if that psychological issue can ever be solved with him. I think it’s just all a matter of how you perceive those loses.

Cade Klubnik is about to become a very overrated QB in the draft also.
-
I was mentally prepared to lose the team at that point, and was ok with it. Things were hopeless for this franchise, and I almost felt like Toronto can have them. I just remember being frustrated by Toronto being the potential city. Losing a team to a city that close would have been worse than moving across the country. We would have heard about them too much.
-
Exactly, we counted on guys becoming franchise QB’s who were never thought of as having that potential. Brady is the GOAT as a fifth round pick, but had immediate success. Those type of guys aren’t given years to succeed. Somehow we got stuck on players like Edwards and Fitz for years.
-
This post encouraged me to watch CJ Spiller highlights. He would’ve been a good complementary player on a decent team. Just wasn’t what we needed at the time, especially from a first round draft choice.
-
Seems like a really long time ago that dude was in the NFL, but it was just back in 2020 we drafted him. It was only a fifth round pick, but I’d love to have that one back.

I’ve never fully understood the Lynch saga. He wasn’t a model citizen while here, but he never held out either. He was playing when they traded him away. I’m sure he wanted out, but we didn’t want him either. That was the choice of management. Did anyone else actually want to play for what was a really pathetic franchise at the time?

I can’t believe there’s actually Cardinals fans willing to travel across the country to watch that team.

Has anyone had that Pittsford Farms Dairy from Hard Knocks?
SirAndrew replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s good, but not life changing. You expressed my feelings perfectly. I think they have good stuff on par with other fresh dairy producers and similar businesses. I have family from PA, and I think I was spoiled fresh dairy and Dutch country stuff down there. Much of it for a very good price. I always feel like there’s a bit of a Pittsford price inflation as well. I don’t think the quality always matches the cost. -
What’s the moment you want most in old Highmark?
SirAndrew replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree, a last second win over KC in the AFCCG would tough for to enjoy. It’d feel like a repeat of previous games against KC, and there’d be no joy until the end. I’d enjoy every second of an easy win over them. -
I love attending sporting events and concerts. They give something to look forward to, and I always have a great time. However, they only last a few hours, and typically I don’t remember much. Once the cost reaches this point, it’s impossible for me to justify. There are too many other ways to spend that much.

I’m a huge music person, and find something to appreciate about most genres. There’s great classical stuff out there, and a lot sounds like it could be pop/rock music. You can definitely hear the influence of classical on future music styles, and I find that very intriguing when hearing music that’s often hundreds of years old. I lean more towards small chamber ensembles, classical guitar, and solo piano. The sound of a full orchestra sometimes sounds like an overwhelming mess, although I’m aware the musicians are spectacular. I like classical, but must be in the right mood. I never realized how much lyrics mean in music, until I became interested in classical. Popular music is easier to connect because each song has a subject matter, and each artist has a personal style.

Preseason Week 1 Giants at Bills - Game thread

True, I think we’re capable of beating mediocre teams with mostly the run game. -
Around the NFL Pre-Season week 1 edition.

I guess I wouldn’t see it as an issue if I had faith in their other QB’s. Yes, it’s ridiculous, but all of those guys could struggle. Dillon Gabriel is a strange prospect, and the other QB’s are just bad.
