  1. The fact the 49ers offense functions with either Purdy or Mac Jones is quite impressive.
  2. Same here, but Michaels used to be sharp. It’s just weird to hear when I remember the old Al Michaels. Herbstreit doesn’t help much either.
  3. I really can’t stand the Rams. LA doesn’t deserve a team, and McVay’s 90’s boy band hair bugs me.
  4. Al Michaels is a legend, but he’s reached the point where he says random things that make no sense.
  5. Davis hasn’t looked good, but I don’t like giving away players on a contender. I’d like to see what Gore can do as well, but you’re one injury away from wishing you still had Ray Davis. I trust Davis in crucial moment's, we don’t know what Gore has to offer. Several games into a season with Super Bowl hopes isn’t when I want to find out.
  6. Shadeur and Deion are the bigger issue. There’s a lot of crazy helicopter moms of athletes these days. Everyone has social media, that’s the problem. Deion the NFL legend who also meddles is the real concern.
  7. Tyreek has always been about Tyreek. He loves the game when he’s putting up big numbers, highlight reel players, and winning titles. I have no doubt in my mind he’s someone who’d rather sit out if those things aren’t happening.
  8. I suppose, he did go 10-7 with Bo Nix, so that’s somewhat impressive. It just seems the defense carries them, but Payton was once considered an offensive genius. I haven’t seen much of that.
  9. Has the media gotten over the concept of Sean Payton being a good coach yet?
  10. I agree, but I don’t think the dream of making football a global game is going to happen. I think it’s possible that years down the road we’ll discover they put their energy in the wrong places.
  11. The problem with the NFL is the fact they’re trying to simultaneously capture every audience known to mankind. They want to play all sides, and that type of marketing often fails eventually.
  12. I understand the average person on this board isn’t the audience for halftime anymore, but this is a real bizarre choice for the NFL.
  13. I’m not a big Dak fan, but the biggest issue in Dallas is Jerry only hiring coaches to be his puppet.
  14. That punt catch spin move might have been one of the dumbest football moves I’ve seen.
  15. Yeah, there’s definitely a level of difficulty involved. I can find incredible highlights of Jackson’s deep passes, but why do we never see them in the playoffs? It’s because teams scheme better to prevent this in big moments. I was a huge advocate for Jackson on this site against his many detractors, but years of awful playoff performances made me change my tone. He needs the right conditions to succeed. There’s college QB’s in the proper scheme who throw better deep balls than Allen. This is a result of the situation, and open receivers.
  16. I agree, but it’s almost too harsh on LeBron, even though I always criticized him the same. I don’t think Lamar will ever win a title, because he’s limited at his position, which is a fact people choose to overlook.
  17. I’d honestly be suprised if the Chiefs are a low seed. I expect them to be near the top by the time the season is over. People got a bit overhyped about their first two weeks. I loved the concept of the dynasty being over, but it’s not.
  18. I wish the Ravens would just start being a losing franchise. They don’t seem to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender, and Lamar Jackson is a great QB, but he doesn’t seem like he’ll ever show it when it matters most.
  19. I’m not convinced we should believe in Washington anymore. I think last season might have been a fluke. Dan Quinn isn’t someone I trust as coach, and Daniels was just a rookie last year. Will he be someone who can maintain that level of play?
  20. Good post, I don’t miss those old debates of whether Bama could beat the Bills. The QB position is always overlooked in these debates as well. An elite college program could have more talent, but they’d still lose to teams with better/more experienced QB play. An AJ McCarron led Bama, or Justin Fields led OSU wouldn’t have beaten any NFL teams because the QB’s are backup level NFL players.
  21. I’d be shocked if Belichick ever coached in the NFL again. He’s not winning at UNC, which could be a sign his years as a relevant coach are behind him. It’s common for people who were once great at something to not have it anymore. That’s not even mentioning the circus he brings. Belichick, the grumpy disciplinarian coach has allowed his girlfriend to become a sideshow. Any NFL team that’s comfortable with that situation would be crazy.
  22. Jared Goff’s lack of respect is almost a symptom of modern culture. He doesn’t do anything Superman like or awe inspiring. He’s not going to inspire viral videos. That’s what it takes for people to recognize a guy. Goff is old school, he plays QB from the pocket and does a great job of it.
  23. He’s been really weird this game. He’s making big time down field throws, but missing on all the basic throws.
  24. Caleb Williams is really awful on routine throws. He’s not just inaccurate, these throws aren’t even close.
  25. Yeah, leave it to the Cowboys to possibly give the Bears their first win.
