  1. Harbaugh should stay at Michigan and try to finish what he started. Payton should leave his Saints legacy intact, and remain in retirement. I understand the itch to coach in the NFL again. I get these guys being motivated to return, but as a neutral observer, I’m not convinced they’ll be successful returning at this point in their career.
  2. They’re dumb, that’s why. Have you met Steelers fans?
  3. The Jets/Fins game is a real tossup. I think the Jets have quit on the season, but the Dolphins are also a mess with QB concerns.
  4. I probably say this too frequently, but that’s why I hate the seven team playoff format.
  5. Rough weekend for the Harbaugh’s coaching.
  6. If the Steelers make the playoffs, Pickett will become the next Mac Jones for the media. We’ll also hear never ending praise of TJ Watt.
  7. I used to enjoy it more when the game didn’t feature Huntley vs Pickett though. This game is touted as a great defensive struggle, but these are both sad offensive teams.
  8. I’m not sure why it doesn’t seem possible to be an Ohio State fan, yet admit your QB’s struggle in the pros. College and the NFL are separate beasts. The advantage these guys have at OSU with their receives and o line is huge. They outmatch most of their opponents, it’s opposite of Allen’s situation at Wyoming. Marvin Harrison Jr is going to be an incredible pro, and it was clear against the Bulldogs that no one in college can cover him.
  9. I’m sure he was, but you need to get the ball out of play regardless, that’s Zach Wilson type stuff in the pros. A sack is better than a floater when you lack the arm strength while falling back. I think he’s a great player, I just don’t see a bright NFL career.
  10. Yes, he’s an amazing college QB, but his weaknesses are the type of things that make pro QB’s fail. There’s an NFL GM somewhere who will overlook that and pay the price. The first play that comes to mind is the hospital ball that knocked Harrison out of the game. OSU might have won without that play. The QB needs to throw that ball out of bounds, not loft a balloon into the back of the end zone. It all works out in college, but I’m not sure if his decision making will work in the pros.
  11. Agree, I softened my stance on Ohio State coaching after some posters pointed things out, but Harbaugh was horrendous. It seems like much of Big Ten fandom have resigned themselves to being fans of an inferior conference. I’m hearing a lot of “they’re the best” sentiments when referring to Georgia. It’s almost has if beating another power five conference team is unexpected. Georgia is the better team, but it doesn’t mean Ohio State didn’t fold. Michigan was just straight up pathetic.
  12. Good post, college ball has definitely been king in the South for many years, but their complete domination of the sport seems more recent. I’d love to be down south on a fall Saturday. It looks like a great time, and being an SEC fan would be a blast. I just long for the days of competitive conferences across the country. The narrative is no longer interesting, the SEC is clearly the best, and has nothing more to prove.
  13. Fair, I agree the Dawgs brought their C game on defense, and it took Stroud having the game of his life to hang with them. I shouldn’t completely dismiss coaching because those two factors. I think the emotional element clouds my analysis with Big Ten football. I’m just tired of Big Ten teams inability to beat the big boys in the playoffs, with the exception of the OSU champions in 2014. OSU at least showed up to play last night.
  14. True, I’m probably being a little harsh on Ohio State coaching. I think the final series left a bad taste. The last two calls before the field goal weren’t good imo, but I suppose the overall game plan was good to hang with Georgia.
  15. Yes, both Big Ten teams were heavily out coached .
  16. That’s fair, and I’ll be the first to admit TCU and the Big 12 doesn’t play defense, but does the Big Ten have an offense worth a salt other than Ohio State? I was always a Big Ten guy, but started watching more SEC and Big 12 this season. The offensive football in the Big Ten is like watching paint dry imo.
  17. TCU exposing the Michigan defense shows how bad Big Ten offensive football is.
  18. Geno is and was terrible. He played very well for half this season, but it seems like a mirage. He’s regressed quite a bit the past few weeks, looking like Geno with the Jets again.
  19. I thought this was a Russell Wilson post.
  20. It will be an interesting offseason. I think Payton should stay retired, but I understand the itch to be around the game. It’s easy to see his second act being a bust imo.
  21. Three words is all I need to know about Hackett and his ability to coach….Syracuse Orange Football. People love picking on Irsay and Saturday with the Colts, but the Bills bringing the Syracuse Orange football staff to the NFL in the 21st century might be the biggest coaching joke of all time.
  22. Colinsworth has a remarkable amount of excuses for Brady being washed up.
  23. Sean Payton is the same guy who let Taysom Hill take snaps away from Drew Brees, so it’s total possible he’s good with the idea of Murray.
  24. True, but I don’t know if any ideal situation is opening up this offseason. He did coach in New Orleans. Benson was never held in high regard before Payton and Brees turned things around.
