  1. I’m kind of expecting a lot of them this weekend. Playoff football is awesome, but I don’t like the matchups this week, next week will be much better.
  2. McVay is going play the Favre/Rodgers retirement game every offseason it appears.
  3. I agree with your thoughts, but I don’t think Belichick is doing much to gain the respect of his players either. Lombardi trophies with Brady only mean so much with a new cast. His style works when the team wins, but not so much when the losses appear. Players see that New England isn’t doing what it takes to build a winner. Belichick has been an awful GM, and then hires Matt Patricia as the OC. Belichick is doing things that only he’d be given the freedom to attempt because of past success. It’d look genius if it worked, but instead comes across as a boss whose ego gets in the way. None of this takes away his past success, or his greatness, but he’s getting in his own way at this point.
  4. Yeah, Derrick Henry got all the credit, and deservedly so, but no one seems to remember how AJ Brown made Tannehill look like a decent a QB in Tennessee.
  5. Yes, I have no problem with Hurts All-Pro selection, because the results were there. I’m still not sold on Hurts being an elite QB a decade from now. Everything fell into place for Hurts to be successful this year. I know a lot disagree with my take on him, but I don’t think anyone would take Hurts over Allen. It’s fair to say that Allen isn’t going to impress the critics with his turnovers, but Bills fans should know better. Allen makes plays that no one on earth is capable of, and it really lessens the sting of the turnovers in my opinion. The turnovers would improve greatly if he had a better supporting case as well.
  6. I don’t care who contributes, we just need more players contributing to win games. We need players to step up in several areas, and guys need to answer when their number is called.
  7. I remember when people wanted Glennon in Buffalo to finally solve our QB issue.
  8. Agree, Miller was also the guy who made Benford and Jackson look acceptable as starting CB’s early in the season.
  9. Our greatest hope was always Allen to carrying us to a title. The defense has become a bigger concern than expected however. The situation at safety has been nothing short of catastrophic, but the corner position shouldn’t come as a shock. We started the season with Jackson and Benford on the outside, hoping Elam could become reliable, and for Tre to return. Tre returning to form was always a question mark, and Elam is a rookie. We didn’t go into the season very stable at cornerback, and it shows.
  10. They also didn’t play a full game last week, in addition to obvious emotional aspect, there was likely some dust to kick off.
  11. This game is incredibly ugly for late season. This looks like the Hall of Fame Game, except it’s the fourth quarter with the division title on the line.
  12. Never cared much for the Titans, but I’m rooting for them. The Jags and Lawrence did nothing to deserve a win tonight.
  13. I think that’s where I see it differently. I’m not a huge Herbert fan, although I think he’s very good. Herbert is a step below Allen, Mahomes, and Burrow, and that’s where I think Lawrence will always be. I don’t see his ability to take the next step. I could be wrong.
  14. I haven’t seen much of Lawrence. He seems like a QB who does good things when everything stays on schedule, but doesn’t have the ability to create anything special. You need that ability to be elite these days.
  15. Yeah, the idea that Stidham might the guy, or an upgrade over Carr is just wrong. There’s plenty of backups who’ve had good games. Carr is a better QB than Stidham, it’s ridiculous.
  16. I’d have a little hope if Derek Carr were starter. I know he isn’t great, but he has experience against divisional foes, and can be spectacular at times. I think we saw the best you’ll get out of Stidham last week. The Raiders are a mess.
  17. True, MetLife would be relatively easy travel, but I’d bet Bills fans would take over any neutral site.
  18. I’ll let my kids choose what sports they’re interested in, and I wouldn’t stop them, but might have some slight reservations. My greatest concern is Neanderthal coaches at the lower level. Guys who have no respect for safety, and don’t protect the safety of their players. McDermott is a class act and fine human being, but not every player at every level has such a great mentor and leader.
  19. Sports are typically such a positive escape. I never thought we’d see such a devastating game day. Prayers for Hamlin and family, it’s going to be tough to even sleep soundly tonight.
  20. ESPN crew should probably send prayers and thoughts to Damar and his family, and cut the awkward chat at this point.
  21. That’s fair, seems like a lifetime ago. I suppose I’m more offense minded, and when I think Payton vs Harbaugh, my brain instantly goes to Brees. I remember that 49ers team having some great defensive players, but recall very little beyond that. Harbaugh took a team that went 6-10 without him to the Super Bowl two years later, so I give him a lot of credit for that.
  22. The Giants success in 2022 is a gift for the NFC East in the future. They’ll spend on Barkley and Jones, but won’t have the guys it takes to be championship caliber. It’s been pointed out how this Giants team with Daboll is much like the McD’s first season in Buffalo. However, the Bills went straight into rebuild mode, and it paid off. That was extremely courageous, and I don’t blame the Giants if they don’t rebuild, but I think they’ll regret paying Jones and Barkley.
  23. I don’t know, Harbaugh brought a less talented 49ers team to the Super Bowl, while Payton frittered away many seasons with Brees at QB. I’m not convinced one is significantly better than the other.
