  1. Very true, but we do need to say that Andy Reid is a huge advantage for Mahomes. I’m fine with people calling Mahomes the best, but Reid is a huge asset. Reid’s a guy who did quite well with McNabb and Alex Smith. Kelce is also one of the most bizarre cheat codes in the history of the game.
  2. I’m probably an old soul, but I don’t understand what anyone gets out of bickering on social media. This is where I can make sense of the fans better than Beasley. Why does any athlete who’s set for life lower themselves to feuding with random people online? I don’t understand this aspect of our culture whatsoever. Fans are going to do anything in hopes of catching the attention of a pro athlete, but why do these guys even respond? It seems like fans get more out of these types interactions than the athlete. The fan gets to say they argued with a pro athlete, while Beasley could be enjoying all the cash he’s accumulated, instead he’s wasting time online.
  3. He runs like Zach Moss at this point in his career.
  4. The release was warranted, but this regime really takes a long time to fall out of love with a guy. I’m not sure what they didn’t see in McKenzie last year that he showed in previous years. I held my breath every time he touched the ball while here.
  5. It depends who the remaining members are for me. I’m not particularly into seeing a band with the drummer as the sole original member, or a band with no original members. It differs by band on whom I’m willing to see without original members. Being a fan of guys who are the remaining band members is a huge factor. If a band loses every member I care about, then I have no interest.
  6. Rodgers says he “intends” on playing for the Jets. I could see it not happening, allowing him to teach us the definition of intends. He’s free to share any thought he wants, I’m completely in favor of that, but he often says things just to mess around with people to prove his belief he’s more intelligent than fans and media.
  7. The Bears are a mess. It’s strange how many people think that GM has potential. They make really poor decisions and Fields isn’t the guy.
  8. Yeah, I really don’t get it. It’s not logical imo. There aren’t many true franchise QB’s, you’re always favored to win the division when you have one. We should be favored as long as Allen is here, unless another team somehow finds a top five QB. It’s like Manning’s Colts, Roethlisberger’s Steelers, and Rodgers’ Packers, those guys always won the division. Whether Beane and McD can bring home a title is an entirely separate conversation.
  9. I’ve never been a homer. I think we’re behind the elite teams in this league, and the gap is widening. There’s certainly no guarantee to win the AFC East, we’ll agree on that point, but I’m having a tough time viewing the Dolphins as a top team. This is a QB driven league. Does anyone think Tua is in that elite conversation? They aren’t going far with Tua. The injury concerns are huge, and that team didn’t look good during the second half of the season. The league seemed to catch on to McDaniel’s scheme, and they didn’t have many answers.
  10. That’s what I’m curious about. I’m not in the SU basketball loop to the extent of some other folks on this board, so I’d be curious to know their thoughts. Is the era of Syracuse as an elite basketball program over? I’ve always seen Boeheim as being Syracuse, and don’t view Syracuse as the easiest place to recruit players these days.
  11. Any early April baseball game in cold weather climates. Baseball is meant to be a summer game, and it wasn’t remotely enjoyable in the cold, yet somehow I enjoy December Bills games.
  12. I love how Josh Allen fits in as a Buffalo guy. Aaron Rodgers as a NYC/NJ guy might be the worst fit ever. Those fans and media will turn on him quickly if it doesn’t immediately click, and Rodgers won’t take it well.
  13. Agree, this team has a lot of overrated talent. I often wonder how incredibly wasted Allen’s career would be without the Diggs trade.
  14. I wouldn’t because I can’t imagine it. QB’s like Josh Allen don’t have three straight losing seasons. That’s left for teams who win a title under freak circumstances. Allen is a franchise QB who should win at least one title in his career. That’s my issue with this “as long as we compete” mentality. Allen is a top QB, this franchise should win a title with him. Anything less is a failure. People who claim just competing is all you can ask for are correct, you can’t guarantee titles. Brees had one title with the Saints, but nonetheless he brought one home. I don’t expect a Super Bowl every year, but let’s not make excuses for this franchise if they can’t figure it out at least once during Allen’s career.
  15. I’m a fan of milk too, so I’m not personally dragging it down, but I wouldn’t say it’s a must for athletes. The majority of the worlds population can’t even digest milk properly. It doesn’t seem like something that would be great one size fits all dietary advice.
  16. Agree, it looks very much like a generic European generic soccer stadium. I think that’s why it hasn’t grown on me. I know we aren’t getting a dome, or an insanely priced palace, but I can’t get over the Euro soccer ambiance.
  17. I get your point, but think you’re giving too much credit to what the community wants as being a consideration. The Pegulas and New York State had no interest in shelling out more cash, so the fan “research” simply provided justification.
  18. I agree, that is definitely the right attitude. I dream of a move to warmer climates, but there’s something annoying about the way athletes say these things. It feels like an unnecessary cheap shot. We’re all aware that it gets cold in Buffalo. I love warm weather as much as the next guy, but I don’t see the need to make jokes about sunshine. These athletes come to Buffalo, soak their ego with all the attention WNY gives them, then talk about how the weather stinks. The dude is from Oregon (lots of sunshine, I’m sure), stop acting all Miami. I wish him the best, but these guys act like they don’t have all offseason to party in Miami. The Bills are usually done in early January anyway, go enjoy Miami then.
  19. The problem is Mixon isn’t a player who’s worth the trouble. I know he looks like a Hall of Famer against us, but Cincy doesn’t have much of a running game. These type of players aren’t worth the distraction and negative publicity.
  20. It also seems almost anti-process, and at odds with the peace and love message we hear from OBD. I agree, if anyone deserved a second chance, it would be that guy, seems pretty rough. Let’s scapegoat the dude who faced the most adversity at his position, and return to playing prevent defense all game next season.
  21. Agree, the OP’s premise is arena football not choosing Buffalo means the economy is weak. I don’t think arena football can be used to assess economic health, negative or positive. These leagues typically go for the largest markets, with occasional outliers. The original arena league with Buffalo as an expansion team was many years ago. Leagues all seem to use a large market business model now. I suppose we’ll see.
  22. Right, but that doesn’t have much to do with a random arena football league placing a franchise in Buffalo imo. They’re looking at the entire country. These leagues tend to choose larger markets. Buffalo is the 53rd largest TV market in the US with Fort Myers/Naples soon to surpass it. Buffalo is a great sports town, but that doesn’t mean these type of leagues are coming here, and I don’t think we’re missing much. I’d rather see Sabres playoff games, and more great concerts in Buffalo. The novelty of these leagues wear off quickly, and I’m not convinced Buffalo, or anywhere can sustain them. The Bills consume most of my football energy, but I’m not going to say an arena team wouldn’t be cool either. I’d just be surprised.
  23. It’s not just economics, it’s the size of the city as well. Buffalo isn’t one of the larger markets, and you eventually run out of people interested in these secondary leagues. There isn’t much interest anywhere in the country at this point. We’re a smaller market with an NFL franchise. How much demand for football from a lesser league does the city have? That doesn’t make us a bad sports town, it just means people moved on to hockey season. These leagues work best in markets without pro teams or larger markets. I understand your point, but I don’t think an arena football team can be used as measuring stick for Buffalo’s economy.
  24. For everyone who doesn’t understand why this happened, it’s not strange at all. I don’t remember where I read the article, but the building planned on being lit in the colors of both conference champions. The KC colors were also shown. Football is kind of a big deal these days. Great joke from the sanitation department, but the Giants better hope they’re better at “taking out the trash” then the NYC sanitation department. If not, the Giants are in trouble.
