  1. Exactly what I was thinking. I’m not convinced last year’s offense is a sustainable style. I don’t want to complain about something that worked, but I don’t know if we can repeat that. I also believe we’re actually less equipped at receiver than last season. We’re back to the spot before we acquired Cooper. He didn’t have big stats, but the presence of an actual receiver on the outside helped open up the offense. We don’t currently have a single outside receiver any defense will fear.
  2. I agree, I’ve actually given up on Coleman being a number one or even two receiver. If it happens I’ll be very happy, but I don’t expect it. Samuel was strangely ineffective, and it’s changed my perception of any free agent who signs with us. I’m not as hopeful about Palmer, and I think a lot has to do with Samuel. Josh Allen being an all time great wasn’t enough to take Samuel to the next level in this system. I’m not betting on it with Palmer either. Palmer had 39 catches and one touchdown last season, with only two touchdowns the previous season. I’m not very confident with the inevitable number one or two role he’ll play next season.
  3. Very weak WR room, and it could potentially slow our offense. There’s a reason we got Cooper last season, even if he didn’t contribute much in terms of big plays. I’m surprised no one is talking about Cook. This receiver room makes James Cook a vital player in the offense. He’s in a position that benefits his ability to negotiate. We can’t afford him not being on this roster with our lack of receivers. Cook has been a big part of the passing game, and this offense can’t afford to lose a weapon. Say what you will about paying running backs, I typically agree, but the loss of Cook would hurt with the way this roster is constructed.
  4. You’re right, nothing is guaranteed, that’s my exact point. You don’t always add the word “hopefully” when discussing things. I don’t read that deeply into it, just saying.
  5. I could see him thinking he might get more playing time in New England. He also seems like a free spirit hippie. In my experience, these personalities don’t like to stay in one place very long.
  6. I understand why he said it, but it’s definitely not the type of word you’d hear at something like a wedding, even when hopefully is absolutely appropriate.
  7. I’m not one hundred percent certain we should assume Cook is the starting running back. It seems like a major issue that has yet to be resolved.
  8. Great, we already excel at signing subpar defensive players, then we find a couple who can’t even play.
  9. I think Copper is aging, slow, and not what he used to be, but I’m one of the few who thinks Brady can’t scheme a downfield NFL passing game. I don’t think we know how to use that type of player. See above. I think you have a valid point.
  10. This is the type of signing I’d love in years past. I’ve always assumed Josh Allen would make an average receiver into a superstar, but it hasn’t worked that way yet. After excepting a lot from guys like Samuel, and Copper, I won’t put many expectations on Palmer. Maybe he’ll surprise me.
  11. I’m sure that’s true for some, but I don’t think players stay away from Buffalo as much as people think. Location isn’t as important in today’s online society. I often hear this about Buffalo, but never regarding Cleveland, Pittsburgh, or Detroit. Does anyone actually dream of living in those places?
  12. He’s washed imo.
  13. I couldn’t agree more, but the problem is like minds often come together. Many of these guys aren’t exactly known for being upstanding citizens either. These guys probably attract people with similar behaviors to themselves, but don’t like being on the receiving end.
  14. I’d be shocked if Rice and Worthy don’t play the majority of next season. This is a big nothing, other than the fact Worthy doesn’t seem like a great dude. I highly doubt it impacts much more than a few games suspension.
  15. I’ve never been convinced European interest is great as many claim. I’m not convinced it’s enough to succeed year after year without American fans. There are plenty of American fans whose money alone can make this successful as destination games. I’d assume this eventually becomes a glorified exhibition to European fans. If we aren’t placing a team in Europe, how much interest will you cultivate year after year for random games.
  16. An “average joes” league of guys off the street might actually be a more intriguing league.
  17. Russ Brandon shouldn’t be running an ice cream stand, but you can only fail down so far.
  18. I’d love to see statistics for injuries from onside attempts. It seems like a bad excuse to make the game more “exciting”. I don’t recall onside attempts being exceptionally dangerous.
  19. That makes sense, but I’m not sure if I’d call that loyalty to the coach. Was Allen considered a first round pick if he left early? If he was considered a lower round pick, that might be part loyalty to a coach, but also the right decision to better oneself.
  20. Josh Allen had an opportunity to leave Wyoming? I thought he was lightly recruited, and didn’t receive offers to go elsewhere? I’m just curious, as I’ve never heard this story.
  21. Yeah, but their QB position needs fixin’ and Tomlin is up the crick if they don’t.
  22. I agree, and my disclaimer is I don’t anything about this dude, so I’m not really referring to him. I’m not much older than this guy, but I’ve already seen many thirty somethings get their first chance at management in my career. It seems the majority have much to learn about these positions, beyond the job itself. I’m always amazed how much leadership and interpersonal skills are better with more experienced workers. People in their thirties come across much younger than previous generations, and it can take time to mature into someone who can succeed in an important role.
  23. I was reading comments about this video on the NY Post site. The Jet fans were hilarious. The Bills have been mostly superior to them for many seasons, and definitely in recent history. You guys had one freak upset Super Bowl win in the 60’s. Long before most Jets fans were even born at this point.
  24. Ray Davis is going to be a good football player. I think he’ll be the biggest success from that draft. Coleman isn’t a good NFL player. He didn’t show anything this year, or in college that makes think he should be a starter in the league. Bishop is the defensive version of Kincaid. He looks slow, weak, and timid on the field. He can improve, as he’s a rookie, but nothing about him looks like a starting NFL safety. Bishop plays like an elite mid major college football star. I think that’s what he is, and possibly a decent backup.
  25. It’s easy to spend more money than you make, no matter how much you have if you’re an idiot.
