Daniel Jones - new starting QB for the Giants
SirAndrew replied to KingBoots8's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can see Eli gets a lot of love around here being the guy who beat the Pats. He certainly isn’t THE problem in NY, but he has been washed up for quite some time. Eli’s career is over, and he’s always been quite overrated imo. The dude has had some great seasons, but it was time for the Giants to move on. -
MNF -Cleveland Browns @ New Jersey Jets

On paper the Browns should have improved. In reality, all the personalities on that team could be disastrous. -

This feels like a Thursday Night game as far as quality is concerned. -

Nah, my narrative is Mayfield might very well become a bust after the already egotistical QB inherited the toxic combo of Landry and Beckham as teammates. -
But he brought in a bunch of big name players and Rex was forced on him, so it wasn’t his fault. At least that’s the narrative from many Bills fans. I complete agree with you. Whaley’s team had no vision, or coherent plan for the future. Rex was a poor coaching hire, but I don’t think he was the only problem. Many Whaley fans think that with a different coach we would have been a Super Bowl contender. That is complete nonsense.

A Few Thoughts about the Giants game, in no particular order
SirAndrew replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I really like this team. There’s a long ways to go until the playoffs. That’s my biggest concern at this point. I just wish I didn’t see every time we get a lead, then McD gets conservative. Those decisions lose against elite teams, as well as most playoff games. I’m just thinking we aren’t going to beat teams like the Pats by playing anything conservatively, so I just hope that part of McD can change a bit in the future. -

Yeah, I love this team and McDermott is a big part of the Renaissance. It’s the first time in my life that I’ve felt we are building a legitimate contender. My only fear is that McD could have a Marty Schottenheimer like coaching career if he doesn’t change. The type of coach that excels with game planning and fields a constant winner, but lacks the instinct needed to be a champion. Oh well, guess I’ll just enjoy where we’re at now, and hope to keep pushing towards the playoffs. -

Knox has been terrible. -
wheres' the best place to buy a scalper ticket on game day?
SirAndrew replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, the teams/league don’t really care if someone gets ripped off with a phoney ticket. Digital tickets also allow the buyer to be identified which can be useful to the team. -
Thursday Night Football Tampa at Car, NFL Network
SirAndrew replied to RaoulDuke79's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is an issue with what the NFL experience has become. What kind of atmosphere do Panthers home games have ? There’s just nothing about the experience that would make me want to attend as a Panthers fan. Compare the sterile environment of many NFL stadiums with big time college football, and it’s easy to see why people stay home. Additionally, Charlotte never had much of a non bandwagon fan base to begin with. -
No wonder Beasley’s head was out of the game on Sunday. Didn’t know he and Darnold were so tight. Don’t want anyone to end up like the Shah.

Tony Gonzalez turned down trade to the Bills?
SirAndrew replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the money is equal, players are going with the winning franchise. The preferred free agent location narrative is overplayed imo. Can anyone really answer what cities every free agent wants to play in ? I’d think Miami would be near the top of that list, but they are such a dysfunctional franchise no one wants to play for them. It really all comes down to money and/or winning. This franchise hasn’t struggled with signing free agents as much as the common narrative would lead one to believe. -
Will Patriots release Antonio Brown?

Also the same team with a 42 year old QB and a suspicious trainer hanging around. -
Bills (1-0) at Jets (0-1) Postgame thread
SirAndrew replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes because he pulled through when it counted most while Darnold failed to deliver big. Darnold is an average QB imo. Allen has a high ceiling (and basement), but has elite potential. I’m not convinced that Darnold can be much more than average. -

SirAndrew replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Darnold is not the reason they lost, but it must be tough for those fans to watch Allen look like a playmaker. Allen is out there making plays with his feet and showing off an elite arm. Darnold plays like a glorified Trent Edwards while Allen plays a bit like Favre. -
Are we concerned about Beasley’s hands ?
SirAndrew replied to Teddy KGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That’s what I thought from what I saw in Dallas. Now I’m beginning to wonder if I overrated him a bit, but there’s time for him to improve. Hopefully this is a case of needing to adjust to a new team. -
Used to attend a lot of SU football games back in the late 90’s, but I gave up on them long ago. They are much improved, but never really bought into the hype. Syracuse was once on the fringe of being in the elite of college football. There just aren’t enough elite recruits in the northeast to field that type of program these days. I prefer to watch UB play in the MAC where they can actually compete.
-
Yeah, Nice half by UB, I’m impressed by Myers tonight. It’s also always nice to see Franklin get booed.

Antonio Brown RELEASED, signed by PATS
SirAndrew replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, why do teams never punish guys who don’t want to play by simply keeping them on the roster? This happens quite frequently in today’s NFL, guys know they can get what they want by whining. -

Exactly, it was basically a temper tantrum to get what he wanted. What WR wouldn’t want to play on the Pats? -

The last paragraph explains him imo. This isn’t mental illness or any other junk people like making up, this is just ego. -

This also shows that Pittsburgh is a solid organization that was able to keep things under control a bit longer. This is all on AB, but the Gruden/Mayock Raiders are a mess.
