Today’s NFL is all about stars. TBD doesn’t like hearing this, but we saw Watson carry his team to places Allen can’t at this time. I really like Allen, and think he’s in the top half of AFC QB’s, but he’s not there yet.

That too, Daboll ran some mysterious plays today. By the same token, at least get the ball out of bounds.

He did, but was lucky he got that opportunity. That doesn’t erase epically bad sacks on two consecutive downs, and his attempt at a lateral to Knox. You are correct, he atoned, but champion QB’s don’t make that many major mental errors in one game. I’m not saying he’s a bust, just saying we are a long way from having a championship contending QB.

I get that, but it’s a situational thing. Allen’s back to back sacks in the forth quarter can’t happen. He needs to know better. Those are situations where the ball has to get out of his hands at all costs. It shows he has a long way to go.

Agree with your take on the Allen called runs. Everyone agrees we didn’t do well blocking on thd QB sweep in OT. However, our called QB runs have not worked well all season. Blocking has been a consistent issue with those plays, and Allen has been much better scrambling. It’s on Daboll to realize that called Allen runs aren’t our bread and butter, so why call them in OT of a playoff game?

My issue is plenty of rookie QB’s don’t try to lateral the ball to Knox in that situation. Plays like that are ridiculous. That was such an extremely profound mistake, I’m not convinced experience changes it. I think he’s more of a Brett Favre type QB, who will always make really dumb plays. Guys like that need big time production that outweighs the mistakes to make it at this level.

There was much more wrong with this team today than just Allen. I’m not convinced many QB’s would have won facing those conditions today. However, Allen made some of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen a pro QB make today. I found that very concerning. At the same time we’re watching Watson breaking tackles, making something out of nothing to win the game. Our guy is taking terrible sacks, and trying to toss laterals while being tackled.

It’s more difficult imo, because I knew the Tyrod era was coming to end. I suddenly have lots of questions about Josh Allen.

Houston has playmakers on offense, outside of running back (Singletary), we don’t. That’s the difference. I’ve loved this season, and we had good defense, but you can’t rely on defense in 2019. At some point it comes down to your offense vs the opponent.

Now we get to see Watson highlights with Clemson. Back in the day when Allen was busy throwing picks at Wyoming.

Thank god for the refs bad calls. Now we can blame them instead of Daboll and Allen.

I’m just over the called QB runs. Most of Allen’s big runs come on scrambles imo.

We need a defensive play. Daboll and Allen aren’t going to win this for us.

QB sweep call killed that drive.

Allen is an idiot

Those are the plays that scare me about the kid. Even rookies need to know better in those two situations.

Allen can’t take that third down sack. That was dumb QB play, and it’s hard to fix stupid.

Our coaches are great imo Monday-Saturday, but terrible game day coaches. We aren’t going anywhere with the current staff.
