Matt Judon: Interesting Development in Negotiations
SirAndrew replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wonder if he wanted extra money for being a dirty player. -
I couldn’t believe McKelvin was still returning anything five years after the Pats MNF fumble game. He could be a playmaker at the return position, but was also a disaster waiting to happen. The fact he was out there at all is a testament to having multiple coaching regimes who were all clueless. It feels so good to be past that point.

Dallas 175 million 5 year offer to Prescott
SirAndrew replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree, Prescott is a very good QB with the Cowboys. I’d really like to see how he’d play elsewhere. Prescott’s in an ideal situation with Dallas, and I’m not convinced he wouldn’t be very average elsewhere. QB of the Cowboys has always been one of the more interesting positions in all of sports. They are quickly elevated to greatness by fans/media when they have early success, and receive unlimited criticism when they struggle. Dak’s prestige has been elevated by having early success in one of the marquee positions in sports. -
Yeah, Andy Reid has proven he can have sustained success, and now has the best QB of his career with Mahomes. Back in the 90’s you had the Cowboys, Bills, and 49ers who all had that potential. Later on you had teams like the Packers and Broncos. In today’s NFL, the Chiefs are the only team I’d even think about as a potential “dynasty” when mentioned. There’s way too much parody now to apply the term dynasty frequency.

Honestly, I don’t understand people who get worked up over who hosts these type of shows. One Bills Live is what it is, it’s mostly feel good stories, with limited critical analysis. There’s nothing wrong with the program, as it serves the purpose of public relations for the team. However, these type of programs aren’t meant to be award winning journalistic ventures, so why do people expect the hosts to be perfect? Maybe I’m just biased because I’m not into sports talk. There’s a lot of in depth sports knowledge out there, but you really don’t find it on any mainstream sports radio/television.
-
Dallas could definitely make a step up in that weak division. However, I just think some of us are doubtful of Dallas being mentioned as a potential “dynasty”. I guess it probably comes down to ones opinion on Dak. He isn’t a QB who’s the leader of a future dynasty imo. He’s a decent QB, but I don’t see him becoming elite, regardless of how talented the Dallas roster is.

I agree, but the virus itself isn’t going anywhere. Testing players could completely alter the season if rosters are decimated by guys being quarantined. It’d be one thing if we weren’t quarantining asymptomatic positives, but we are, and it has the potential to be a tough situation. Hopefully, I’m wrong and there aren’t as many asymptomatic carries as I believe.

Wouldn’t shock me. After all the dude got pulled over at 9pm hauling a freaking trailer. It’s not like closing time from the bar or something.

I see a lot of debate about a mistake being understandable, because he’s a young guy. I agree, but there is also a point where you need to understand what you have to lose. Oliver has way more than the typical 23 year old. I don’t understand why so many guys cruise the streets of their hometowns, often drunk and high with firearms to protect themselves from their old adversaries on the streets. Nothing wrong with responsible drinking or firearm ownership, but take your millions of dollars, stay away from the streets of home, and find some decent people to chill in your mansion with.

People always get worked up over these things. Normally, I don’t care much about these type of things. However, this isn’t your typical movement to improve diversity. This directly impacts the on field success a team has based on whom they hire. I’m not one who gets upset about efforts to improve diversity, but this is clearly the wrong way to do it. It’s absolutely absurd, but that’s what the league does best.

Aaron Rodgers speaking to reporters Friday
SirAndrew replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get your point, but I don’t follow why Beasley would only be seeing 40% of snaps? I guess you’re saying that Beasley would be getting less playing time to make room for Davis? Three and four receiver sets are common these days. I don’t see a scenario where Beasley would be unhappy with his playing time, because Davis can get playing time along with Beasley. If Davis came out looking like an all pro early in the year, maybe I’d have some concerns about Beasley’s playing time. However, I don’t see Davis jumping Beasley on the depth chart. WR’s take a while to acclimate to the pro game. We have no idea if Davis can even play at the pro level. I’d be open to a Beasley trade if Davis and/or Hodgins proven they can. -
Evans was a weird player for me. One game he’d look like one of the best WR’s in the NFL, and other games he’d completely vanish. Playing with subpar QB’s obviously factored in, but he was also somewhat of a one trick pony. He couldn’t make plays in traffic, or run short routes with any kind of consistency. He was one of the better Bills receivers of all time without question, but I always wished for another number one to compliment him when he was on our roster.

Beasley isn’t phenomenal, but he’s proven he can contribute at the NFL level. Why potentially decimate a decent depth chart ? Davis and Hodgins are complete unknowns at this point. It’s a nice luxury not to rush them up on the depth chart. -
Just watched Replay of Bills/Pats Week16

What kind of fool doesn’t pay in cash ? Bob Kraft might not know how to stay away from the cameras, but I’m sure he knows the proper way to hand off some cash. -
ESPN now: Bills at Patriots Sept 14, 2009
SirAndrew replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lee Evans had such incredible speed, and was a playmaker. The thing is, he rarely made catches in traffic where he couldn’t use his speed. Seemed like he got taken out of quite a few games for a number one WR. On the flip side, I really forgot how good Schobel could be. I didn’t appreciate him at the time, but he was good player. -

Thanks for the info, but I think one Jauron/Edwards Monday Night debacle was enough for me. I should pass, but actually just tuned in for a short time. I forgot we ever tried a Trent Edwards led no huddle offense. That’s hilarious. -
Fauci: virus will decide season

They’ll be tested on a regular basis. They aren’t risking their lives anymore than the millions of Americans who work for peanuts everyday. -

I don’t know, I’m thinking if one player tests positive you don’t need to quarantine the entire team. That’s the point of regular testing, if everyone else is negative, I don’t see them quarantining the entire team. I feel for you, it’s not right. You can’t go golfing, no drive in movies, but l’ve never seen home improvement stores, discount retailers, and grocery busier in my life. -
Brady and the Bucs get 5 Primetime games
SirAndrew replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually understand it somewhat. Belichick in New England without Brady is a pretty big storyline. Everyone is anxious to see how it turns out. At the same time, five does seem like a bit much. Who really wants to watch Stidham that often? -
Talk of no alcohol at NFL games this season.
SirAndrew replied to Jrb1979's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There’s no way the league knows what will happen, no one does. They are just moving ahead under the assumption of normal. I hope they are correct, that’s all I can say. -

SirAndrew replied to Jrb1979's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Going to a Bills game is like attending a party. It’s a chance to meet up with friends and have a good time. The party atmosphere along the game itself is the reason I go. Without the party element, I can just stay home. That doesn’t mean I’m being irresponsible, or don’t care about the game itself, but it’s what tips the scale in favor of me buying a ticket. -

SirAndrew replied to Jrb1979's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, and not to turn away from the topic, but the whole “new normal” thing doesn’t appeal to me either. I’ll be back at games when the stadium can be filled to capacity. I understand taking precautions, but I’m not capable of living life in fear, no matter how justified. I don’t want to go to a game with 15,000 people where everyone who crosses paths needs to remember the six foot rule, and treat each other as if they have the plague. I deal with it to buy groceries, I’d rather watch the game in the comfort of my home under a limited capacity situation. If 15,000 fans showed up, and it wasn’t due to the virus, I think it’d fun. I just don’t have any desire to go out to have a good time, only to be reminded how messed up the world is right now. I’d say social distancing need not apply, because Coronavirus is the least of your concerns.
