  1. Yeah, people have turned to a vaccine as the answer that ends it all, with the assumption that one will be ready very soon. The cold reality is that it could be years away. You look at it differently if you aren’t making the assumption we have a vaccine before the 2021 or 2022 NFL season. There’s a chance the 2021 season will be no different than 2020 on that front. At what point must the show go on ? All of our actions are being based on the assumption of a vaccine becoming available quickly. In reality, it isn’t some sure thing before herd immunity is achieved.
  2. I’m with you, although I don’t want to put down Knox too much. Bills fans have basically anointed him as a future great. He has potential, but I don’t see any guarantees that he’ll become great.
  3. Would anyone want DiMarco ? Not meaning to bash the guy, but I’m not sure I wouldn’t ask for someone else in a trade. Knox has all the tools, but I hope he can put it together. His greatest asset is also his greatest flaw. It’s the fact that he didn’t play in much college. He looks like a talented guy who hasn’t seen much game action. It means he either has a ton of potential, or he’ll never be able to learn the intricacies of the game at this point. Hopefully he gets it. I don’t dislike the guy. I’m just hoping he isn’t a liability on the field, like he was much of last season.
  4. I looked it up, fair enough. I think I’m just going off my eyes. I watched a lot of Browns in 2018, and liked what I saw from Njoku, while I wasn’t very impressed with Knox last season, but I get the potential. I wouldn’t offer Knox, but if someone demanded him, I’d give him away if it meant an upgrade at the TE position. Whether or not Njoku is an upgrade is the subjective part.
  5. That would be ideal, but if they wanted Knox, I’d be willing to deal him. I just want some consistency at the TE position. Knox is a tough player for me to believe in. Learning to have good hands is something that doesn’t come easy. Knox was a liability in blocking at times as well. He has a lot to learn, and I hope he grows into a consistent player, but he wouldn’t be untouchable for me to trade.
  6. I’d be completely willing to give them Knox for Njoku in a heartbeat. Knox has potential, but he’s a huge boom or bust type player. I’m not big on guys who are inconsistent, unreliable players, who stick on rosters because they have the potential to make big time plays. I’d rather have eleven guys who do their job 99.9% of the time
  7. Cancel culture and insults are two different entities. How well would it go over if the Buffalo NFL team were given the name of an ethnic slur for one of Buffalo’s numerous white ethnic groups ?
  8. My comment on “endless quarantine” really depends on what state you live in you, or who your employer is. I know people who’ve been quarantined for a month because they haven’t produced two negative tests proving they are safe to return to work. Below is an example about the “endless quarantine” people I’m referring to. I know that my workplace also has the two negative test policy, and I’m in the states, so this isn’t just a Canada thing. I simply hate to see crucial decisions made when the real science is lacking. https://www.statnews.com/2020/06/08/viral-shedding-covid19-pcr-montreal-baby/
  9. Yeah, everyone wants to say that Cam has lost it, but that misses the point imo. Stidham just isn’t going to be the starting QB for a competitive football team. Regardless of what point Newton is at in his career, he’s an upgrade over Stidham. The Pats were going to be really bad with Stidham. Cam Newton even at fifty percent is always better than Stidham.
  10. Right, the Pats might be good this season, but that doesn’t mean we can’t contend. It seems like some people think the Pats need to be bad for us to have a chance. If we want to be good, we need to beat good teams.
  11. Exactly, it’s just frustrating that we know so little about this virus, and sometimes it seems like people forget that. No one knows what a positive a month after the first positive means. Are you still contagious? Or is it dead virus ? False negatives are a huge problem because the test is miserable. People flinch, or the healthcare provider doesn’t administer it correctly. Additionally, those placed on quarantine as asymptomatic people (potentially longer than a month, if they keep testing positive), only result from people being tested by their employer, or for a medical procedure. What about the millions of young people, unemployed, and those who aren’t required by work to be tested ? They are all running around as asymptomatic carriers, and the only people being forced into quarantine are the ones who were made to tested. That’s not how you eliminate the virus from society. It’s everywhere at this point, I wish we’d quit acting like testing is going to stop it. Testing only gives us numbers, but isn’t really stopping anything. Wear a mask, maintain social distance, and be smart. That’s the best we can do. It’s too late for testing to eradicate the virus.
  12. The fact that you get placed on a potentially endless quarantine (unable to work) based on a test with questionable accuracy, feels like a witch hunt. I’m not saying it is, I’m just saying that we are using limited scientific knowledge to make big decisions that impact people’s lives. The accuracy of the Covid 19 swab test is terrible, but you rarely hear that in the media. I expect my position on this to be very unpopular, but the reliability of the test is a joke.
  13. No one is getting burned at the stake, but we’re using a test that has extremely questionable accuracy to determine who is safe vs unsafe to leave their home. That has some of the markings of a witch hunt to me. I wish more “experts” would begin to speak out about how inaccurate the COVID 19 test is. A positive test can alter someone’s life, and it’s not even reliable, nor do we have enough knowledge to really know when someone is no longer contagious, but simply colonized with the virus. I have a major issue with that.
  14. I’m not fitting Josh for his jacket in Canton, but I can’t agree that 2004 Bledsoe > Josh Allen. The numbers are similar, but Allen’s ability to run adds another dimension. Bledsoe was an average or below average QB at the time, who was a total statue in the pocket. Bledsoe lost to the Steelers backups to miss the playoffs. Allen has many flaws, but he doesn’t lose that type of game. Bledsoe was checked out and well past his prime. Criticize Allen all you want, but he plays with fire. Bledsoe played older than his chronological age in 2004, and was completely washed up.
  15. Additionally, it seems like everyone makes the playoffs in hockey. It’s really difficult to be that futile for this long, without being at least somewhat to blame. I’m a causal hockey fan, and I’ve given up on following the Sabres at this point. The worst drought years of the Bills were never as bad as this Sabres futility imo.
  16. Our current offensive line is overrated, and actually not all that good.
  17. This virus is real, and it can be dangerous, but some parts our reaction to it are taking on a “Scarlet Letter”, Salem witch trial feeling to me.
  18. I mostly agree, I think I misunderstood some of what you said. We will have to face the music, and I think most people are going on with their lives at this point. However, I do think there is a chance for a vaccine or better therapies within a year, so taking precautions can’t hurt. This pandemic is more about the hospitals, nursing homes, and other institutions this illness rips through. Even if we reach herd immunity, not everyone will catch it. The average guy might be able to go about his life, hanging out at the bar, hanging out with friends, and living it up, but that doesn’t mean the hurt isn’t being felt in other places. That’s what it’s all about at this point. Right now, the medical world and world governments are praying for an answer within the next year. If it doesn’t come, everyone will have to reassess the situation.
  19. I never said that Kim plans on calling plays. That is a major stretch from what I had written. I was merely making the point that Pegula is McDermott’s boss. There are certain places a boss doesn’t belong if they want their employees to feel trusted and free to perform their jobs. It’s not a big deal, but if a bunch of small things like that happen behind the scenes, it becomes a big deal over time. I’m not one hundred percent convinced that McD would have loved it.
  20. Exactly, I’d like to know how many people who are good with it would like their boss being part of something they typically aren’t. Regardless of how good a relationship you have with your boss, there are limits to how involved you want them to be. The best employees don’t want their bosses in on every conversation. I don’t want to make this into a big deal, but it’s not how professional organizations are run, and feels amateurish. What good can come out of the boss eavesdropping on the coaches headset ? I don’t see any upside.
  21. Exactly, the idea of isolating athletes has been discussed, but I just can’t see that happening. I realize they get paid well, but I can’t imagine these guys agreeing to it. Would pro athletes really agree to not seeing family, friends, and various female friends for six months or so ? I find it hard to believe. It’s easy for us to say “sequester them”, but they are human beings. I understand that many people have professions which take them away for long periods of time, but NFL players will have a job waiting for them in 2021 if the players union says no.
  22. This probably shows my age, but I couldn’t care less about the Jets or Dolphins. I don’t love either team, but I don’t feel a legitimate rivalry. On the other hand, I can’t stand the Pats. It’s hard to worry much about the Jets and Fish when they never win anything.
  23. I don’t think any backup is valuable enough to their team to worry about quarantining one. Backup QB generally equals season over.
  24. I think he meant if every player got Covid 19, there would be a 50% chance that one would die. He is basically correct imo.
