  1. I’ve noticed this at many stadiums. I wonder if CBS pipes their own sound in too.
  2. It’s been a long time since we drafted a WR who made me think he could be a complete player. Davis fits that bill.
  3. I don’t care how much the vets didn’t like JP though. It kind of makes Vincent look like a jerk, especially considering he still thinks it’s funny after all these years. He was head of NFLPA, isn’t that correct ? No wonder why that team never got anywhere with that type of character.
  4. Fair enough, all your points are valid. I’d still make the argument that Fitz’s 2015 Jets season, and 2019 Dolphins seasons were better than any in Buffalo. Obviously there’s many factors, and I’m not saying he’s become a franchise QB. I’m just saying that I’ve noticed small details in his game that have improved since his time with the Bills. Fitz is a smart guy, and with age comes wisdom. He’s a guy who’s capable of using everything he’s learned over the years to improve. He’s definitely not a franchise QB, but I’ve been more impressed by him as an opponent, than I was with him as a Bill.
  5. I agree, but I don’t think he was very good here at all, contrary to memories of Bills fans. He’s a better QB to my eyes than he was in Buffalo. His Buffalo tenure is vastly overrated.
  6. I also think Fitz is actually a much better QB today than he was with us. I don’t believe most Bills fans understand that either. We had a lesser Fitz than the one who has played in recent years.
  7. Yeah, but just because Rosen was traded for a second doesn’t mean he’ll amount to anything. It was actually an all time stupid move to trade a second for Rosen imo. Why would anyone give a second for a guy whose team clearly gave up on him after just one year ? The Cardinals obviously wanted to nothing to do with Rosen after drafting him in the first, then Miami comes along throwing a second round pick at the Cards. It was just dumb.
  8. I was about to say the same, I don’t think one loss changes the fact that Mahomes is great.
  9. Hot take ahead, Steelers defense always get overrated because the jerseys they wear, and the mystique. I think they were ranked fifth last year, but they beat a bunch of terribly weak teams, and gave up lots of points to the few decent teams on their 2019 schedule.
  10. Good post, I absolutely agree with your statement. QB’s need talent around them and a competent front office to succeed. You can’t develop a QB without everything being in place. I don’t want to dismiss the importance of the team as a whole. Football remains the ultimate team sport. What has changed is the fact you can’t win without a QB in today’s football. That’s where I say the importance of the QB has been inflated. There will never be a Trent Dilfer type Super Bowl winner again imo. This is where my basketball analogy comes in, you can’t win NBA titles without the Jordan’s, Bryant’s, James’ of the world. NFL QB’s have become a similar entity.
  11. I see both sides of the argument. I miss how the QB position didn’t seem to be as overly important in the past. However, I agree with you about the quality of play. It’s amazing how bad QB play was thirty years ago, even the greats often looked average by today’s standards.
  12. I miss how football was the ultimate team game. Football remains so, but the QB position has taken precedence over all else. Football is edging into basketball territory where one guy makes or breaks the entire team. I remember those 90’s juggernauts like the Bills, 49ers, and Cowboys. It was never just Young, Kelly, or Aikman who were solely responsible for the team’s success. Those teams all had talent to win elsewhere. A running back, wide receiver, or pass rusher could win games for teams back in that era. Obviously, that still holds true, but now you need the QB as well. Teams like the 2000 Ravens will never exist again. They dominated based on talent outside of the QB position. With that said, let’s give today’s QB’s credit for being top notch. The training and physical abilities of these guys dominate any previous era of QB’s. I know this won’t be popular, but Josh Allen’s physical ability is superior to someone like Steve Young, while Patrick Mahomes arm is ten times that of Montana’s. I’m not putting those legends down, but it’s an apples to oranges comparison. The defense could play much tougher back then, but these modern guys are also very gifted. The old era was about grit and toughness, those are traits someone like Montana had plenty of while running Walsh’s cutting edge offense that caught opponents off guard. Today’s QB’s don’t have to be quite as tough, but their physical abilities are out of this world.
  13. Fair enough, but the NFL simply follows the cash. In the 60’s the league weren’t worried about future generations they wanted to maintain as followers. No one knew for sure what the future would hold back in the 60’s. In 2020, looking at socioeconomic statistics, lifestyles, and politics, we know future generations need to be marketed to differently. That’s all this stuff is, marketing meant to make money in the future when the boomers are gone.
  14. I don’t think the members of AC DC are that much older than the guys in Metallica though tbh. I admit an AC DC bias. Any AC DC is good AC DC, Metallica from the Black album on does nothing for me, with the exception of some newer stuff that goes back to their thrash roots. I’ll take a Master or Puppets halftime show though.
  15. Bills-27 Titans-14 I’m surprised how many people are giving the Titans a good chance. It seems like that team would be dealing with a lot, including a lack of preparation coming into this game. This is a good Bills team, I don’t see why they shouldn’t defeat this team. They have a ton of guys on the covid list, and I’m slightly confused by people talking about how some Titans guys might come off that list for the game. Doesn’t it take two weeks to return ? I know most people don’t produce a negative test before two weeks. How are all these guys suddenly going to return ? I’m just curious what the league policy is there.
  16. Definitely not from OJ.
  17. I agree, I also think the “older” crowd who grew up in the 70’s and 80’s sometimes overlook what is happening to the music industry as a whole. Sure, radio stations are vanishing, but radio is quickly becoming an obsolete medium for better or worse. Online streaming, and the internet as a whole is the new place to find music. Another factor is the lessening importance of music overall. Today’s generation live in a world with a myriad of entertainment options. Music is nothing more than background noise to them. Music is something many people use only when working, driving, or exercising. That hasn’t stopped a few modern musicians from becoming media driven superstars, but they don’t hold the same cultural significance as past stars. Classic rock albums were works of art, meant to be listened to as a whole. People would sit by the record player, and listen to entire albums as a source of entertainment. Personally, I’m a huge classic rock fan, and love listening to vinyl in the same manner. I know plenty of other younger folks who do the same. However, we’re the music nerds, most people are content with music as background noise. That’s where the real change has occurred. Great music from new artists can be found, just don’t expect to hear it on the radio. Classic rock radio has been dying as well, and I couldn’t care less. The rotation of the same songs over and over are tiresome, in a world where music can be found elsewhere. I think of all the great classic rockers with deep catalogs, yet their same hits are on a constant loop. I listen to the radio while working around the house sometimes, but definitely prefer my streaming services where I can listen to anything I choose, rather than Stairway five times a days. Rock music will never die, it will always exist somewhere, just as the work of Bach or Chopin does. However, the way we consume music has changed, and it completely altered what music means to future generations
  18. Brady runs off the field again before the clock hits zero. What does Foles have to do to get a handshake from this dude ?
  19. Joe Buck talking AC DC just seems wrong.
  20. Foles is football bipolar. He randomly morphs into a decent QB all of a sudden. I don’t know if it’s a mental thing or what that holds him back.
  21. Foles is the strangest player in the history of football. He’s a Super Bowl MVP, and has either been exceptionally good, or total trash at any given moment/season.
  22. It used to frustrate me far more when he did that and we putting less than 20 points up a game. You win some and lose some with Josh. That’s the same type of play that becomes a huge gain other times with him.
  23. Imagine the Super Bowl being decided on a bum goal line call like Brown’s. The NFL needs to get officiating together.
  24. Cases can also just stem from something as simple as family though. Schools are open as well, so who knows what someone is bringing home. There are more scenarios than just clubbing, when you don’t have a literal bubble that also involves family, so much can go wrong.
