Week 8 MNF: TB at Giants 8:20pm on ESPN

Right, so how do you talk about it without even seeing it again, and determine it didn’t happen. That doesn’t make much sense imo. -

Not butt hurt here, although Brady jokes are just funny. It was actually a bad call. Defenders hand was on receivers back before the ball got there. -

That’s what I was thinking. You never see them pick that up for anyone outside of NE on close call like that. -

Brady’s team still gets the calls. -

I absolutely agree, but that roster was also stacked during the Matt Cassell year. This is before Belichick sabotaged himself by being an awful GM. -

That’s what I’ve noticed this season, and they’ve overcome that, but sometimes their offense is a mix of excessive running and downfield passing. Brady has still been very good, but I think he could excel even greater in an adjusted version of that offense. Brady has knack of doing that for his OC’s. -

Does Arians or Leftwich call plays for the Bucs ? Brady has really carried them this season, but I’m rarely impressed with the play calling, especially with Arians allegedly being another offensive guru. -

Belichick has been an awful GM, it’s like he wanted to make Brady’s life difficult. -

I’m not convinced anyone would be calling them a contender without Brady on the roster. The NFC is wide open, but Brady automatically gives his team more credit from fans/media than they might deserve for what they really are. -
Possibility of 16 playoff teams this year

That would be very NFL like to change the rules as they go. I’m not sure how adding more teams helps anything with Covid. -
Tua every pass attempt in case your interested
SirAndrew replied to JetsFan20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can’t get past it either. Just the look of him throwing the ball makes me assume he’ll never be an elite QB. I realize that’s a very basic assessment, but I just don’t get franchise QB vibes from anything he does. -
They’ve also done nothing to upgrade the receiver position. It’s hard to know how Jackson’s career will be remembered, but every QB needs weapons. Remember when everyone thought Brady was toast last season playing on a team without a legitimate WR ? Receivers have become undervalued in this league, but every great QB has a great WR. Jackson is the only golden boy QB who doesn’t have a legitimate elite WR.

I’m not sure how many people will remember, but he almost reminds me of Pat White in his throwing motion and general look of ineptitude. Tua’s a late round if he plays anywhere other than Bama. -
BB is still an all time great coach. However, I think they need to find a GM if that team is going to win double digit games again. Belichick’s greatest hurdle to success is the GM, and the GM happens to be him. Brady made countless average players look good. They no longer have that luxury, and Belichick’s love of players that fit his system over talent will come back to haunt him.

Beane's construction of this roster
SirAndrew replied to All I Need is Hope's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get your points, but if the Tre White deal proves to be bad, it’s not something anyone saw coming. They extended a guy who’s a crucial part of the D for a good price. Nothing about White’s play over the past couple years indicated an extension wasn’t a good idea. I loved the fact we held on to our talent for once. -

Enough of this negative talk here today. We’re going to the Super Bowl for sure after defeating the mighty Pats. Mark my words, we’re playing the Bucs in the Super Bowl. We’re going to take down Brady, and McD is going to body slam Gronk before taking the Lombardi Trophy. -

This is spot on. I’m going to savor this being this season of winning the AFC title. I’ll also be disappointed if we have another first round playoff exit. Two things can be true at once. -

I’m thrilled was this win, but it’s also not unreasonable to express disappointment that our defense isn’t going to allow us to go anywhere in the playoffs. -

That’s where I’m at, it takes some intrigue away from this season imo. We are a first round playoff exit team right now. It would take miraculous progress to become anything more. It’s awesome that we’re no longer staying home from the playoffs, but it’s also disappointing not to feel like we’ll go farther this season than last. -

Happy for the win, but it feels like we’re in the same exact spot as last season. We beat the Redskins to go 6-2 at the same point last season, and it doesn’t feel like this team is improved from that one. You hope for continued improvement for one season to the next, but we still look like a first round playoff out. Is Allen really any better ? Is our defense better ? They are far worse. Good win, but there’s lots to work on. -

Hopefully the Josh from the first four games returns. I’ve always been a big fan, but at some point he needs to become more consistent. -
Gameday Thread Week 8 1st Half Bills vs. Patriots

It’s strange to see Cam take so many hits for a Pats team that’s going nowhere, and signed him relatively cheap. It feels like it’s close to the end of Cam’s career, and taking a bunch of hits for a subpar team is a strange way to wind down a career. -
Sean McDermott is the 2nd Best Coach in Bills History
SirAndrew replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great post. I’ve always been a huge Levy fan, but those losses were more than just talent disparity. That team didn’t even resemble the one from the regular season in those Super Bowls. Being outmatched doesn’t explain all of the mental lapses, turnovers, and just stupid play on the field. Kelly was an utter disaster in those games, and played a big role in basically handing the game to our opponents. We led the Cowboys 13-6 going into halftime during the last Super Bowl. I realize that doesn’t fully discount the possibility of being outmatched, but the Bills belonged on the same field during that half. The second half showcased us being out coached and our players melting under pressure again. That was the real reoccurring theme in those games.
