  1. I don’t care how Allen compares to other QB’s, it’s the 88 rating that’s ridiculous. I couldn’t care where he ranked, had they given a rating that could be justified.
  2. The 2015 were a really unlikable team. They didn’t have any real “villians”, but were filled with underachievers, low effort guys, low football IQ guys, Rex Ryan, and EJ Manuel. Rex was a disastrous coach, but he did have some success in NY. I didn’t like his system or believe he was a good coach, but the way that roster immediately quit on the team because they didn’t like Rex’s defense was also pretty sad. There were a lot of bad attitudes in that locker room during those years.
  3. Is it officially a loss when you’re still fighting ? 😂
  4. Yeah, I never want to be against change just for the sake of it, but it feels like the fans are the losers. It reminds of what’s happening to minor league baseball. I agree about the ACC needing to make a move, and I think it will eventually be a necessity if they want to survive. I follow Syracuse football, simply because I live in the area and enjoy college football. It’s not easy being an SU football fan, but I enjoy having the opportunity to watch major college football. I worry that teams like SU will be relegated to mid majors if football decisions outweigh all else. As league mergers continue, how many bottom feeder programs will other leagues except ? A league like the ACC is filled with bottom feeders in football. Many of whom aren’t the greatest revenue generating programs either. I’m quite certain there’s plenty of Southern mid major football programs who out-earn programs like Boston College. I think an ACC merger with the SEC would be interesting, because it would completely change the complexion of college sports. I think there’d be a lot of teams searching for new homes after being left out by the SEC.
  5. Yeah, you don’t have to think Benjamin is great to believe that Judge is a joke. The Giants are a mess, hence the effort to convert Benjamin to TE in the first place.
  6. She should have stuck it out, I did so for my Little League team 😆 I say that jokingly, because that’s how some sports fans sound. I don’t even think it’s fair to compare football players or the like to gymnasts. They are two different beasts. Biles has been through a lot, and I don’t think it’s fair to judge what she might be struggling with.
  7. I enjoy the Olympics, but can’t stand NBC’s coverage. I’ll never forget a couple years where someone with NBC said something along the lines of, “more women watch the games who aren’t necessarily sports fans, we need to create drama and storylines because they like the stories more than sport”. Not only is that a gross comment, but it’s exactly how NBC covers the Olympics, and it ruins it for sports fans imo.
  8. C’mon, what city doesn’t need a 15K seat swimming venue ?
  9. Yeah, it took me a while to catch on to that one. I wasn’t sure if Cheektawarsaw became socially unacceptable or something 😆
  10. Yeah, the flip flopping on these issues has been amazing. I think much of it is due to the movement of liberalism away from union halls and into the suburbs. There are too many people who say all the “right” things, but the current system works too good for them for to want change. Liberalism has become focused on social issues with the economic issues playing second fiddle. I’ve been shocked to see liberal Twitter accounts posting things like, “let’s just get over the fact it’s made in China, the affordability is what’s best for our economy”. Well educated liberals don’t care what’s happening in the rural or intercity, when their cul de sac is doing just fine.
  11. If you had only written the first paragraph, I would have fully understood your take, but the second paragraph adds the, “you’re afraid” stuff that anti-vaccine folks turn to. In your first paragraph you explain that you believe any vaccine is a futile effort, because a continuing virus threat that will escalate is about to occur. While I don’t necessarily agree, I can understand why you’d be against it. That doesn’t mean you don’t care about others. It just shows that you believe it’s futile, I can respect that. You just lose me with the second paragraph. It makes sense that people who got the vaccine are more likely to be cautious, because people who don’t get the vaccine are less afraid, or they would get the vaccine. I believe the vaccine is effective. My concern is simply more mutations due to high numbers of unvaccinated. I’m not “fearing the virus” now, but more fearing the future. Your take that it’s all manipulated would allow me to understand why you don’t believe in the vaccine. The take of, “you got your vaccine, why do you care if I got mine ?” is scientifically flawed. I don’t mind dissenting opinions. I just like when they make sense. Your first paragraph explains it much better than the old, “why does it matter what I do ?” take. I do appreciate the civil response by PPP standards though 😆 Isn’t Cheektowaga always the magic word ? I’m quite sure there’s a lot more going around Cheektowaga establishments than just HEP A.
  12. That’s fair, my mistake. Not to cover for my blunder, but Hepatits A is rare compared to COVID. That’s the difference, the Delta variant spreads like wildfire, while Hep A is relatively uncommon.
  13. Hepatitis is spread through bodily fluids, while COVID is spread via respiratory droplets. That’s an apples to oranges comparison. I think the “experts” are deferring the mandate until the FDA approves the vaccine. I’ve included a link to a Houston hospital case. https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/judge-tosses-houston-hospital-workers-lawsuit-over-vaccine-requirement-2021-06-13/
  14. Nah, I just don’t want to see it mutate into something that evades vaccine immunity due to an unnecessary high number of unvaccinated, resulting in unnecessary severe illness of my loved ones. Kind of like how I’m such an authoritarian that I don’t want drunk drivers on the road. I mostly agree with this. I think once the CDC approval comes though, people are going to be surprised by how many places mandate this.
  15. That’s all true, but I never said vaccines will be mandated for all. I’m just pointing out the fact that businesses and employers mandating a vaccine would likely hold up in court. If people don’t want to get the vaccine, I’m not going to engage in a pointless argument with them. I just don’t understand how people can make statements claiming their job or favorite concert venue can’t mandate it. As far as the bolded text, health care workers in NYS actually are asked if they received an MMR vaccine. There won’t be an across the board mandate, but it can be mandated for access to employment and entertainment.
  16. I hope if he retires it’s a sincere retirement. I’ve heard and seen enough of Rodgers.
  17. Yeah, Mayer is probably around my age, and he reminds of the suburban hippy wannabes I went to school with. They talk all this new age one world, one love stuff, but actually don’t care about much more than being slim balls. Mayer has the personality of an elite university frat boy, and it’s tough to tolerate in a grown man. I don’t care about musicians politics, lifestyle, or whether they’re a good person. I can’t get past Mayer’s personality though. His interviews always leave me feeling dirty, and seeing him as being slimy. This is coming from a guy who loves all the classic rock stars. They come across as mostly class acts compared to Mayer. He could write the greatest song ever, and I couldn’t get past it being John Mayer. That’s very rare for me, I don’t typically dislike people I’ve never met enough for it to ruin the music.
  18. I know a lot people disagree, but I think the Saints have handed out some really bad contracts when Brees’ retirement should have been taken into consideration. They have all these big skill position contracts, but uncertainty at the QB position. It’s going to make rebuilding very difficult. The mistake is the belief some have that New Orleans are contenders.
  19. Great movie in the dark “artsy indy” film sense. I thought it was a great portrayal of the northeast urban working class guy mentality, especially pertaining to sports.
  20. I really thought this was going to be serious topic when I clicked. I actually looked forward to some legitimate responses. It could actually be a good topic in an alternate civilized universe.
  21. Tanner Gentry and Jake Kumerow. They’re already been spotted at OBD with their lunch pails.
  22. I get it, and it’s mostly why I watch. I particularly look forward to seeing highly anticipated rookies, and recent signings. Watching Trubisky in a Bills uni will be interesting, especially against the Bears. With that said, I still don’t enjoy the entirety of a preseason game. Coaches get to see their team in practice everyday. I think most personal decisions are based on practice more than actual preseason game action. I never feel like I’m watching something that matters in any tangible way. How many preseason stars get cut every season ? Peterman was a decent QB in the preseason, yet he barely knows how to play the game in the regular season.
  23. I get your take, but what separates a “casual” fan from a “real fan” ? It’s not that I don’t watch the preseason, but I admittedly drift off once the second half begins. The quality of play is just difficult to watch. That doesn’t mean it’s not exciting to see rookie debuts and promising prospects, but the game itself is typically bad. Your take reminds me of music people who say you aren’t a real fan if you don’t love every album by an artist. I get what you’re saying, that most people are quite hardcore into their Bills around here, but I still can’t comprehend truly loving preseason football.
  24. I’m surprised by all the preseason love around here. I don’t think hating preseason football makes one any less of a fan. Lets be honest, once the backups are in, the quality of play is worse than almost any college game.
