  1. Feliciano is insanely overrated around here. He has the former Raider steak of nastiness and fighting post whistle that fans love. It doesn’t take away the fact he gets beaten on a regular basis.
  2. I agree, but God forbid an article is written that questions the “Patriot Way”.
  3. How true. I just find it hilarious how fans and the media worship Belichick and the Pats franchise, but players are actually choosing not to go there.
  4. Do we think this is because he doesn’t like the Pats roster, and doesn’t trust them to bring in talent ? or doesn’t he want to deal with Belichick ?
  5. Agree, I look at this from a very simplistic view. If my team signed Goff as their QB, would I be inspired by the signing ? Absolutely not. That tells me all I need to know about my take on Goff as a good QB. Those good years in LA with a healthy Todd Gurley wouldn’t mean a thing to me.
  6. The narrative is the most interesting part of this trade imo. We will all get to find out what’s true when we see Goff in Detroit. Goff just doesn’t pass the eye test for me. McVay did a lot of interesting things with that offense such as the helmet radio communication stuff with Goff. You’re not necessarily wrong, I’m just curious to see what happens with this. QB’s put up big numbers in 2020, numbers that once made a guy elite mean less in the modern NFL. Very average QB’s can put up big numbers these days.
  7. I preface this by saying I’m not a big Stafford fan. I’m not convinced that he’s top level elite, or capable of winning titles. I do believe that Stafford is capable of bringing a well coached team with a decent roster to the playoffs. That’s exactly why the Rams traded for him. The Lions game plan is a little more confusing to me. Most people view Goff as a stop gap QB in Detroit who will struggle without McVay in his ear. This means the Lions don’t have a QB. Those two first rounders aren’t to be at the top of the first round, and they still need to find a QB. Stafford might have never taken the Lions far, but I’d prefer to build around him for the last few years of his career, and hope for the best. Get what you can out of Stafford, then go for the tank when he retires to draft a QB. A couple of draft picks in the 20-30 range don’t do much for a team without a QB. The Lions still need to chase their QB of the future. I view Stafford as a serviceable second tier QB, who could have taken the Lions to the playoffs. I don’t think they have that with Goff. If the Rams don’t win a title, I think both teams are losers in this trade.
  8. The D would still be the biggest factor in what separates us from other AFC rivals because imo Allen/Diggs > Stafford/Golladay seven days a week.
  9. If I’m a QB looking for a new home, I’d only want to be traded to the NFC. It’s your best chance at a Super Bowl if you’re a guy like Watson.
  10. Definitely a short term plan being prioritized in LA. I completely understand it though. The NFC is a weak conference, but you don’t know how long it will remain so. McVay is betting on himself and his team to take advantage of that now. There aren’t any elite teams in the NFC imo, and the Rams see themselves as being close. I’ve never been much of a Stafford fan, but there’s no reason to believe he can’t lead them to a Super Bowl if Goff can. Brady will be 44 next season, and wasn’t truly spectacular this year, Rodgers always has some type of drama, The Seahawks can’t play D, and Brees is either retired or washed up. That’s definitely what the Rams are seeing, otherwise this is a very bad plan.
  11. You’re not wrong, I was actually quite disappointed in how classless Reid’s team played. That being said, Brady played on the ultimate classless franchise beating us twice a year for how long ? His good buddy Gronk assaulted Tre White, so there’s that. I think it’s fair to dislike KC, but I’m not going to run off to root for Brady.
  12. Yeah, I never really got the point. I think it’s essentially used in team sports for situations where medals were awarded, so someone needs to take the bronze. I’m not sure if I understand why the World Cup does it though, aside from additional revenue.
  13. Forget about any other factor, the injury thing is the biggest. I don’t really follow soccer, but used to tune in for World Cups and big tournaments. I seem to remember that even soccer teams rested many of their big names for third place games. Basically you’d get a preseason game at the end of the year. It’s never going to happen, but I’d love to see the Pro Bowl as competitive as it was in the early 90’s. That would hold greater intrigue than a third place game.
  14. I couldn’t agree more with these statements. I’ve played devils advocate by somewhat defending Hopkins on this topic. I fully agree that it could come across as selfish and not team oriented. I also understand the dude is being interviewed to promote the play, himself, and the league. Players look out for themselves because there is a financial element to this game. Self promotion can earn athletes money when they market themselves as a product. Athletes marketing themselves can be calculated moves that also promotes the league. Baseball struggles from having a lack of players with personality and ability to promote themselves. Sure, it’s all very silly, but it doesn’t necessarily say much about Hopkins the teammate imo.
  15. I don’t necessarily fully disagree, but does being a me guy always make someone a bad teammate? Only his teammates in Houston could really answer that. I’ve always seen a guy who puts in maximum effort, and stays out of trouble. Egotism is part of the human experience, and I almost expect it from guys who reach the highest level of their profession. Some people are more egoistical than others, but it only matters if it interferes with their ability to be a positive teammate imo.
  16. It’s definitely very silly, but the whole diva receiver thing still rings true. Hopkins is a talent on the field, and the effort always seems to be there. That’s all I’d care about as a teammate. These are just the type of things that get fans fired up. It’s a good thing no NFL team has an average Joe in charge of player personal. They’d probably trade Hopkins for David Johnson because he’s a “diva”.
  17. The love for Whaley is simple. He made a couple moves for big name guys. Whaley and Brandon made moves for headlines, and some fans think that equals quality. You are correct, Marv’s results were the same as GM. Except Marv had guys like Keith Ellison on the roster, while Whaley brought some well known guys on the team. The quality was the same.
  18. We don’t have any backs who are playmakers. That still doesn’t account for the fact they consistently get hit behind the line of scrimmage. Fans are quick to point at the backs, but this line needs upgraded. Williams and Dawkins are the only guys I’m willing to commit to. I see all this talk about drafting a speedy back, but he’s not getting anywhere if we don’t upgrade the line. It’s the most overrated part of this team. They simply aren’t good.
  19. Absolutely, we have our QB. It’s nice to have a bunch of solid players, but this league is about playmakers. There’s no denying what Diggs brought us this year. We need more of that on both sides of the ball. I’d rather have several big time playmakers than a bunch of average guys. The NFL is becoming more like basketball where it’s less about depth, and more about high end talent.
  20. Exactly, Mahomes is the future of the league. I love watching the guy play when we’re not on the field. Mahomes is a far better QB than Brady at this point. He deserves another title more, even though I realize that’s not how sports work. Brady’s longevity is impressive, but the current narrative of him as an elite QB isn’t accurate. I don’t want to hear it after another title. I’m not getting into his legacy, but Brady is currently a mediocre QB on a very talented team in a weak conference. Brady might be the GOAT, but bolting to a team setup like the Bucs made him look good.
  21. Exactly, if the Bucs win we get to hear how Brady is the GOAT for months. A Chiefs win would move the conversation towards Mahomes and their dynasty. I’m ready for the changing of the guard in the NFL, and a Chiefs win would be a symbolic shift. There’s a lot of grumpiness around here about the Chiefs because they beat us. I guess that’s just how being a fan works. I find it difficult to dislike the Chiefs just because we can’t block, our receivers were injured, our coaches were overly conservative, and our defense can’t pressure the QB. KC could be a modern dynasty, it’s up to us to beat them, that doesn’t mean it should be considered normal to root for Tom Brady. Unless you’re a Brady fan, Pats fan, or Bucs fan, there’s no excuse.
  22. Yes, I like Gabe Davis, and he can definitely contribute to this team. I just don’t think he’s better than a third receiver. He seems reliable which is an asset, but I don’t see that special extra gear. It’s really striking when you see the speed of a team like KC. They have speed at every level of the depth chart. Beane seems to like guys with less speed who fall in the draft as a result, but have other skills that get overlooked. Beane has done great with the franchise, so that’s not a criticism, but I think some guys are definitely limited due to their speed.
  23. If we were really smart, we’d be holding out for the halftime show to be abolished, but that’s another story 😂.
  24. He’s certainly nowhere close to what a guy like Michael Jackson was when he did a halftime show. I doubt that many people are tuning in because The Weeknd is performing. I’m sure millions tuned in just for Jackson.
  25. Agree, but I think it’s indicative of the desperation in the music business today. In the old days, the artists were doing the NFL a favor. Halftime shows gave the league a ratings boost from people who tuned in just for that. In today’s world the NFL is doing the artist a favor by giving them publicity that weren’t getting otherwise. It always worked both ways, and still does, but I think the power is more in the hands of the league now.
