  1. Totally agree. Every draft has one of these guys, and it never turns out well. Wilson owes everything to Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence was the unanimous number one for so long that people got bored with the idea. NFL scouts might be the experts, but they’re people who are prone to emotion as well. I think some became tired of the Lawrence talk, and wanted to think outside of the box. They’re doing this by finding their savior in Wilson. Lawrence had no way to elevate his game film beyond what was seen early in his career. This developed into the boredom that became Wilson mania imo.
  2. I agree with some of this, but to say it’s always circumstances takes it a bit too far imo. Success in any field requires the right circumstances, but it still has a lot to do with the person. If it’s always about circumstances, that’s saying there’s no such thing as a QB bust. The circumstances a guy has in college also plays a huge role. Being on the right college team can put a QB in a higher draft position, compared to a QB who plays on a lower tier team with little talent. Allen at Wyoming vs Darnold at USC is a perfect example of this. The jury is still out on Darnold’s career, I just don’t think anyone can be certain he would have been successful elsewhere. What does Darnold possess that made him a sure bet to be a good NFL QB ? I don’t think there is a such thing. When circumstances are blamed as the sole culprit of failure, that’s assuming Darnold must be good, but I don’t think proof of Darnold as a good NFL QB exists.
  3. Good take, everyone knows Dylan isn’t Aretha Franklin vocally, but he got the job done. Diversity in voices and style is what drew me to “classic rock”, although it’s not my era. Dylan’s raw vocal delivery is refreshing compared with today’s autotune perfect pitch nonsense. I rarely have an issue with anyone’s voice, as long as they are close to signing in key. I appreciate guitar playing, and solid songwriting most of all. I’ve never cared much about vocal ability. I can be impressed by an amazing singer, but the song itself is far more important. People get carried away with wanting to hear the high notes. Also, give me Dylan’s Knockin on Heaven’s Door everyday over GNR’s version, although I love GNR.
  4. That would be a nice, I’d love a small scale amphitheater that attracts smaller shows though. There’s just too much competition in NYS for the big shows with all these 10-20K outdoor amphitheaters, especially with the control Live Nation has. I think the future of music is going to be more centered around these smaller venues. Just give me some good music in downtown Buffalo on those nice summer days, and I’m happy. It wouldn’t even need to attract huge acts.
  5. I agree, and I’d be more adamant about this if I were a season ticket holder. I’d prefer the addition of an extra good weather game earlier in the season. This setup just adds another cold weather game. I’m only interested in attending January games in Buffalo if it’s a playoff game.
  6. Nice job NFL for creating relationship tension by scheduling the Super Bowl on a day I could some wanting to celebrate Valentine’s. 😂
  7. No, the modern game is structured in a way that all the talent in the world is meaningless without a QB.
  8. The NFL is also lobbying for more international games. That’s what I think this is ultimately about. That should really improve the product. Those London games are always so great.
  9. True, the players want more money. They always talk a big game about safety until money is on the line. My only argument is about the quality of the game. I hate Thursday Night Football. The product is trash, but fans are eating it up. More football doesn’t equal better football. Wasn’t the 17th game supposed to originally be a neutral site game to balance out the odd number ? If so, that’s additional travel for two teams. Much like Thursday Night Football it lowers the quality of play.
  10. I say more football. Let’s play thirty games, so we can make the regular season meaningless, like every other American sport.
  11. Yeah, you don’t win many games when you have that much trouble scoring. A big part of that loss was Buddy coming back down to earth. He carried that team from the tournament on. I’m not placing blame on him, but they needed him to be spectacular to win.
  12. I agree, the Sabres are an example of a sports team that’s as broken as I’ve ever seen. The Sabres are doing historically bad things in hockey. I will disagree with the drought Bills always being “in the hunt”. Mathematically they usually were, but football plays a short season. Winning just a few games keeps you in the hunt mid season. How many of those teams did anyone believe were truly in the hunt ? I almost always felt like the season was over by November after seeing the on field product for two months. The Bills never had a historically bad NFL season, but those 17 years, or whatever it was, were cumulatively bad on a historic level.
  13. I remember there was a reason I never joined Bills forums during the drought years. It seemed like getting five or six wins was a badge of honor to some because we were never at the bottom. Comparing the Bills and Sabres is apples to oranges, but not making the NFL playoffs for almost two decades is also epically bad. I don’t care if you win five games every season, it’s still a tremendous feat of incompetence. This is a good organization now, so none of that matters. I just think it’s funny how some will always be in denial that the Buffalo Bills had been a rotten franchise in the past. It’s ok to admit that, it makes having ownership willing to spend money, and good front office staff all the more impressive.
  14. I assume your referring to Singletary. He looked really good his rookie year, but our run game was abysmal last season. Moss basically overtook Singletary as the go to guy by the end of the season. Singletary’s two year stat line looks nice, but was basically supplanted by Moss, while looking quite below average. That doesn’t make me feel great about Singletary. Great points, I’m being a bit hyperbolic by referring to Moss and Singletary as wasted picks. However, I don’t like the fact we used two draft choices on guys who appear to lack big play making ability. I don’t care about 40 times or anything of that, Moss and Singletary both look slow with no burst. Neither of those guys seem capable of turning a twenty yard run into an eighty yard run.
  15. I’m good with the Breida signing to fill a need, but generally I agree with you. That’s why I find it so disappointing that Beane struck out on two draft choices at running back. I realize that Moss has shown some promise, but he also lacks playmaking ability. We drafted two backs who play like an aging Frank Gore. Neither guy was a first or second round pick, but you should do better with mid round picks at that position.
  16. I’ll disagree with all the Sammy is the best receiver on the Ravens takes. Hollywood Brown is still their best wideout, he just doesn’t get the chance to show it.
  17. Nice signing. I don’t like the idea of drafting backs early. You can find plenty of capable backs with speed in free agency. I think a guy with speed is going to look amazing in this offense.
  18. I agree, some fans hate hearing this, but money is even more important than winning or accolades. Accolades make a player earn more money though. I think that’s the biggest fear players have with Baltimore. Agents and advisors always look at the big picture. The statistical decline of a season or two in Baltimore is going to decrease the value of a WR, causing them to earn less in the next contract. I think that’s the biggest fear these guys have. Signing with Baltimore limits future earning potential.
  19. Nice signing, and that’s awesome for McKenzie. He definitely has a place on this roster. I just worry we won’t have enough targets for Sammy 😂
  20. I could see Trubisky benefitting from his time in Buffalo without seeing the field. The Bills are finally a well respected franchise. League wide opinion of our management and coaching staff is very positive. It’s possible that teams will assume Trubisky learned more about the game here, regardless of how much game action he sees. Quality game film in 2021 is obviously Trubisky’s greatest chance for a big contract, but I think he’ll benefit just from being here. Don’t underestimate how much a year away from the Bears can help him either. Trubisky could benefit just from the human tendency to have a short memory. He’ll look more appealing to teams without coming off another below average year as starter with the Bears.
  21. I agree, it’s really that simple. Backup QB in 2022 is something that doesn’t remotely stress me. It’s a luxury to draft a decent backup, otherwise you just sign a dependable free agent. It’s not like there’s many elite backup QB’s.
  22. I was actually agreeing with him, and just explaining why I see it the same way. It was probably poorly written.
  23. Goff was simply part of the deal the Lions had to accept to get rid of Stafford. Jared Goff might do great things for the Lions, but I think they’d consider that a bonus. I’m surprised how many people think the Lions want Goff as their future.
  24. I was about to say, another question is, “ Am I the only one who didn’t know Sidney exists ? “. Kudos to Bills fans, they really do know their team.
