  1. I think it’s a function of the rule book favoring offense, along with years of the QB’s increasing importance. It’s a QB centered game, in a league with very few elite QB’s. That creates awful matchups imo. I remember when non QB’s like Barry Sanders made a matchup worthwhile, who’s the non QB we can say that for these days?
  2. I agree, the Bears are a very poorly constructed team. They need to clean house. Subpar coaching with years of bad GM moves is a tough combo.
  3. I think this just proves that NCAA football is very top heavy. The top teams in the “best conferences” are far and away better than anyone else. This year you have Texas, OSU, Oregon, PSU, Georgia, and maybe Notre Dame. The ACC looks awful because they depend on Clemson and/or FSU, just as every conference depends on the top teams.
  4. Apparently Tennessee doesn’t belong, and the SEC is garbage. That how this works right?
  5. I actually wish the entire conference system could be restructured. I know it won’t happen because of money, but I’d like to see the idea of conference taken out of the college football equation. They aren’t important with the new playoff system. Let the best teams play, and create more matchups that allow us to know who’s the best during the regular season.
  6. Yeah, that’s why I picked SMU for an upset. I thought they’d play well, but didn’t think Jennings would melt down. Drew Allar and the PSU offense is incredibly overrated, and I assumed SMU would score points.
  7. Yes, he seems overwhelmed by the environment. I called an SMU upset, but was wrong. We’ve seen mid major teams pull upsets in these massive stadiums on a regular basis, but Jennings seems like it’s too much for him to handle.
  8. I had SMU as the upset pick, but they seem overwhelmed by the big stage right now. Penn State/Franklin isn’t doing anything special, SMU just seems intimidated.
  9. I agree with Penn State on upset alert. They only beat Big Ten cupcake opponents who run offense stuck in the 50’s. SMU is going to come in slinging the ball all over the place.
  10. I hope we’re still in the race for the one seed. The idea of significant rest for starters over the course of two games frightens me. It seems like that could make us way too rusty going into the playoffs
  11. Anytime Bass kicks is a poor decision at this point imo.
  12. You’re not biting our kneecaps, meathead.
  13. This offense is really on fire right now. It reminds of the 2020 season early on. I hope we see this come playoff time.
  14. Most obvious PI ever.
  15. Is the standing room considered part of stadium capacity, or is that in addition to what we’re told capacity is?
  16. I had the same thought watching the game yesterday. You’d also have an issue if one of these teams were undefeated playoff bound, then lose in this game. Wouldn’t this create likely controversy about the playoff bid? I’m confused if this is basically an exhibition in the mind of the playoff committee?
  17. I agree with everything you said, but there’s also nothing to show that Belichick can build a team from scratch. He was GM in New England, and it didn’t go well. Why are we assuming he can identify talent? Let alone recruit players as a grumpy 73 year old. I agree, you can’t win with Mac Jones, but there’s also nothing in Bill’s past that proves he can lift a mediocre team. He might be the GOAT, but he’s a coach coming out of retirement at 70 plus. When has that ever been successful?
  18. One of the greatest coaches of all time, but why do we assume he can game plan for a college team? The guy couldn’t even win in the NFL without Brady. What makes people think he knows modern college football offense?
  19. That was loser football on defense from McD. Makes me nervous heading into January.
  20. Should have declined holding call if you’re going to play soft third down defense.
  21. The NFL has been trying hard to make the LA teams relevant since the start.
  22. This game is the best MVP case I’ve seen in a while for a QB.
  23. This is why I’ll never trust the McD Bills as champions. We look like future Super Bowl champs often, but have too many blowout losses each season. Big losses to decent teams doesn’t seem like a great indicator, yet it happens every year.
  24. It would be tough to stop that natural reaction, but going to jail and potentially losing a job isn’t great for your family. You can’t just fight people in this era. I don’t agree with it, but getting into a fight for any reason is very risky. We don’t just let things go these days, everything has the potential to become a giant mess.
  25. My niece has attended a ton of games. I know everyone has different parenting styles, but they aren’t hearing anything in that stadium they don’t on the bus. I think some people are very naive. I’m not concerned about hearing cuss words and the like, injuries shouldn’t be expected though. It might have been an accident, but it’s still terrible. I love this team, but our stadium does have some knucklehead twenty something lightweight drinkers who can be quite abrasive.
