The Rams have a decent chance if Stafford gets hot in the playoffs. He’s been there before. Goff is streaky, and Darnold is a giant question mark.

Wild Card date and time (rumor/speculation)
SirAndrew replied to SectionC3's topic in The Stadium Wall
The fact the loser of tonight’s Lions/Vikings has to travel to either LA or Tampa makes me think the system needs revamped. I used to be against it, saying just win your division, but no way a 14-3 team should be on the road. -
Yeah, Brady was the “Patriot Way”. Vrabel is a decent coach, but I think it’s time for New England to move on from people associated with the Brady years. That dynasty is over, and attempts to recreate things rarely work. They need to build a team for 2025, not one that clings to the Patriot Way.
-
I agree, Mayo seemed like a jerk, but he’s in good company in Foxboro. I’m excited to watch the Vrabel/Kraft relationship deteriorate when Buffalo continues their AFC East dominance. I’m not convinced New England is an easy place to succeed with Kraft in charge.

1/5/2025 Week 18 GAMEDAY Bills @ Patriots* 2nd Half Game Thread

I agree, but no NFL GM is going to draft another QB number one when they just got their guy last year. I think drafting multiple high round QB’s would be an interesting new way to do it when looking for the franchise guy. You can always use an extra QB to flip for draft capital also. -

Good point, but ultimately the franchise goes as Drake Maye goes. -

I’m not sure why Pats fans are worried about the number one pick that much. When you have your QB, you don’t need number one in a draft without a generational skill player in it. -

Keon has incredible talent, but has a lot of rough edges to his game that need to be improved before he can become a consistent contributor. -

I know this is a backup Bills defense, but I’m going to issue a hot take. Milton and Maye are at the worst an even trade off. I’m not as impressed by Maye as most. -
I don’t condone the Pats cheating, but all these accusations seem like remarkably easy things to get away with. I’m surprised it isn’t more common. I’m no fan of the Pats dynasty, but the NFL didn’t care enough to have legitimate measures in place to prevent these things. Cheating is still cheating, but it sounds much too easy.

I agree, I didn’t think that Kelly and Day had this game in them. I’ve placed a lot of blame with Ohio State on the coaching staff, but it seems some fans blame the players. I think Howard with those skill position players is plenty good enough to be dominant in college football.
-
I historically like Ohio State, as I do any team that gives the SEC competition, but as a Syracuse fan I saw a lot of classless McCord posts coming from Ohio. We get it, you upgraded, now get over your ex, and enjoy what you’ve got. Give the guy props for helping lift up a moribund Syracuse program, and enjoy having Howard.

I don’t have any rooting interests in this playoff, but I’m disappointed Oregon didn’t show up. I’ve always rooted for Midwest teams in college football, but OSU fans online seem a little entitled these days.

Nice drive from Boise. PSU fans need to take it down a notch, they’re talking like it’s the 85 Bears.

I agree, Lamar always stumbles against KC/in the playoffs as a whole, and the Chargers are extremely overrated just because of Harbaugh. The Chargers basically had the same season back in 2022, they aren’t going anywhere.

Informative article on Burrow’s discontent with the Bengals org
SirAndrew replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, I agree with people who say Burrow lucked into having a great receiver group, but Brown is a terribly cheap owner. I wonder how many of these posters picking on Burrow complained about the Bills franchise before Pegula? The Bengals don’t even have legitimate practice facilities. Burrow probably wanted to overlook the issues when things were going well, but times change, and perception changes. He did “the right thing” by playing for the Bengals. Everyone who says he had a choice like Manning or Elway would have criticized him for being a brat. I think we’re being a bit harsh on Burrow, while taking it easy on the cheapskate team owner. -
Lamar can have MVP if we get a Super Bowl parade in Buffalo. I love Josh, but an Allen MVP doesn’t matter to me. Does he deserve it? Yes, but it is what it is. An Allen MVP only gives us bragging rights over random fans and pundits. That doesn’t do much for me.

I agree, the NBA is suffering from the same issue as baseball. They aren’t enough recent star players with name recognition. It seems this has become an issue across the board in sports, but I’m not sure why. The NFL is too big to fail, but even football lacks mega stars outside of the QB position. It’s just not discussed because the game is thriving.

Seahawks-Bears anyone? (Live Game Thread)

Herbsteit is awful, how are the Bears “in the process of breaking the cycle”? -

That third down run followed by a punt is some real loser football. I feel bad for Bears fans. -

The Bears are garbage, but I can’t believe a team that’s alive for a division title is playing like this. The Geno Smith resurgence was a nice story, but it’s been over longer than anyone wants to admit. -

I find the fact that I suddenly look older than most NFL coaches troubling.
